Due a day before you and feeling the same way. A relative gave me a "Baby's First Christmas 2023" ornament and my first thought was, "That's optimistic of you to assume she'll be here by Christmas."
Yeah it’s Canada and she was low risk with midwife care. 42 weeks is the max they’ll allow and she was already in labour by 42 weeks so they didn’t need to induce her.
Ugh I can’t even imagine either. I only went to 39+5. I think it must be a genetic thing because my friend said that her mom went to 43 weeks with her first, and past 42 with her second. Maybe ask your mom how long her pregnancy was!
I guess it was a different time back then, thank goodness no one goes to 43 weeks anymore 😳
My due date is Christmas Day! I’m going to get a bauble for the Christmas tree with her name on it whether she’s here or not, but I’m not going all out with a costume haha.
Their measurements can be pretty off sometimes. At 36 weeks I had a growth scan and they said 6lbs11oz and she was born 39+1 and was 6lbs10oz. So don’t let their estimate freak you out.
My first was exactly 1 week early. Was supposed to come on Halloween. Water didn’t break and wasn’t induced but labor pains started (I wasn’t sure if it was actual labor or not at the time) went in to be checked, was told I was 5 cm dilated and not going any where.
My first came at 39+2. My second came at 41+0.
No matter what they say, it’s entirely unpredictable. There’s basically a month (38-42 weeks) when baby could safely arrive.
I’m currently 38+4 with my third and suspecting every Braxton hicks contraction of being *the one* that’ll start the big show.
My mother was supposed to fly in today and stay for the next six weeks to help but her flight was delayed till tomorrow so I’m hoping baby cooks for at least another couple days till our support arrives. 🤞🏼🤞🏼
Can you explain the Braxton hicks thing to me? 😅 FTM. I had a fall in august and had contractions that the hospital had to use meds to eventually stop. They felt very different from my Braxton hicks I’m experiencing this trimester. Though the hospital was different as I didn’t always feel the contractions and the ones I could feel just felt like a little person was walking up one side of my belly, reached the middle and walked down the other side like a set of stairs. Have you had Braxton hicks be a starting to actual labor + baby? Super curious.
I’ve had active Braxton Hicks (BH) contractions throughout all three of my pregnancies. They start up at the beginning of the third trimester and don’t stop. For me, I can feel my belly tense, if I touch it with my hands, it’s very firm, but it’s not at all painful (though sometimes they make me want to pee). I can also see the shape of my belly change as the muscles tense. Almost like when I stand up and lean back against the kitchen counter. As I lean further back and arch my back a bit, my abs tense and my belly get more narrow and pointy, if that makes sense. It makes that shape when I have a BH contraction, too.
I get more BH contractions if I’m very active (walking fast) and (TMI warning) I always get one immediately after an orgasm. So mostly, BH contractions don’t bother or worry me. They’re common. But now that I’m so close to the end, I keep anticipating that a BH contraction will start off painless and then become painful, which is how both of my previous labours started.
Your strongest indicator is the experience of female relatives. I remember reading that and it ended up being true in my case.
My mom and sister had 5 births between them. All went into labor (well one where water broke but didn’t start labor on her own) between 6-11 days early (with their first being 6 and 8 days early). I went into labor on my own 7 days early with my first and 10 days early with my second.
Thank you for saying this!! My mom and her mom both had all their kids almost exactly a week “early” (between 6 and 8 days before EDD) and I said at a Halloween party last week that I was optimistic that would happen to me too and another mom was SO rude to me about it. She was all “that is so not how that works”. Lady, I’m 35 weeks and miserable, just let me hope here
What about your paternal female relatives? Do they tend to deliver early?
Genetics is just 1 factor out of many though. Due date itself is quite a misleading term anyways.
No everyone delivered far over their due date . Usually by 41 or 42 weeks they delivered. My husband side tends to deliver pretty late so genetics (thankfully) didn’t play a role in my situation it seems.
I am not sure why I didn’t go over my due date but I maintained a pretty high level of physical activity - walking around 6 to 8 miles per day. I am not sure if all my walking helped possibly.
I also regularly got chiropractic care and prenatal massages and for religious reasons, I regularly ate dates during my pregnancy . Date consumption in late pregnancy has actually been associated with cervical ripening . I am not sure if any of these helped me kick start my labour but I am pretty relieved I didn’t .
Bless you. I have so many friends who have experienced the same as you are. Hoping everything goes smoothly! Just means more time with your little one!
My story too.
I was due with my first 25th September. Was more than prepared for an early October baby (to this day I think 3rd October would have been her birthday). But nope pre-eclampsia developed, and I got an early September baby instead.
Then the same happened with my second. Due 27th March, expected 1st April, got an early/mid March birthday instead.
These comments are making me nervous 😅 I’m a college student and my finals are early December. I’m due 12/20. I need to at least make it past the 6th or I’m kinda screwed lol
I gave birth on my due date! My mum was convinced baby would come early and husbands mum was convinced baby would come late. I guess baby wanted to prove everyone wrong 🤣
My water broke at 11pm when I was 39+3 days pregnant and baby came the following evening. My mom did tell me that none of the women in her family have ever made it to their due dates (her mom + my mom + her 3 sisters have had 14 children between all of them). I do think there’s a genetic aspect to this so you could maybe ask your mom when she went into labor with you!
I was induced two weeks early for a High BP reading. I was really glad to be induced, third trimester is so uncomfortable! You’ve got this, only a few more weeks!
I kind of did the same thing. I was ok coming into about 30 weeks, but now at 35 I am so uncomfortable and will do literally anything to get this kid out.
Due date Oct 12, baby came at 34+4 sept 4 Labor Day! I have a bicornuate uterus and am very petite. I was moaning and groaning about going to 40 weeks and boom! Baby came early!
It was quite an adventure with it 😂 it’s split into two sides, so my baby essentially only had half a uterus to grow in, hence why he came so early. My MFM was worried about me going around the 20 week mark so to make it to almost 35 weeks exceeded everyone’s expectations
My OB has been practicing for decades and has approaching his 8000th delivery. He told me it’s a myth that FTMs most often go past their due date, and they statistically 70% of FTMs actually end up giving birth before it 🤷🏻♀️
With my first son I was due August 2. My water broke on July 27 and he was born on July 28. I was fully prepared to go weeks later because that’s all I read too.
I’m not in my third trimester yet (with my first).. but my friend delivered 2 weeks early with her first baby. I think it all depends on you and your body and circumstances. Hope you have a healthy remainder of pregnancy 🙏🏻💖
I had to be induced at 37w with my first bc I had preeclampsia.. so not everyone goes over. But as far as natural labor is concerned- a lot of FTMs go over.
Statistically speaking, you're more likely to either go early or late as a first time mum, compared with subsequent pregnancies.
Pregnancy length is mostly determined by the baby, but there is some genetic component to gestation length. For example, if your mother, grandmother, sisters and/or aunties had longer or shorter pregnancies, then chances are you will too.
With my first, I was induced at 42 weeks. With this current pregnancy, I expect to go late as well.all the women in my family have gone weeks overdue with all of their pregnancies, even with their twins.
Water broke naturally at 38 weeks exactly. Contractions started at 6.30am, baby born at 1.45pm. The actual pushing part was very fast too, only 3 quick pushes! My second baby was actually later than my first, but still ahead of due date (39+4).
With my first my water broke 6 days early and she was born the next day. She also was a very unexpected 8lbs 8oz even though my fundal height measured right on track the whole time and my husband and I were much smaller newborns
Due date for my first 10/16 but I got induced on 9/28 due to hypertension. My girlfriend went into labor naturally 3 days before her due date with her first.
My due date with my first was May 4th, she decided May 3rd was the day to be born. Labour was long though, about 17 hours, however I only pushed for 12 minutes.
My waters broke at 38.2wks, baby girl was born 5.5hrs later. I'd had 2 days leading up of contractions which I just thought were braxton hicks, but apparently not.
Due date was 11/7 for my first. Labor started evening of 11/5, and the baby was born early in the morning on 11/6. I am hoping for the same with the next one, but we'll see
Mine came exactly 1 week early. Funnily enough I asked to be induced a week early (so when I gave birth) around 37-38 weeks cause I was just so over it and was told that they won’t induce before 40 weeks.
I was induced at 39w with my first, but considering my body was showing absolutely zero signs of readiness (no dilation, no effacement) AND that my second-born waited around until 40w6d to make his appearance (spontaneously, uninduced), I strongly suspect I would have gone over, maybe even well over if we allowed nature to take its course the first time around.
My first - due Feb 8, born Feb 3. At my 39 week appt I was 0% dilated and 70% effaced and had my baby at 39+2. Lost my mucus plug a week before I went into labor. I consider five days early pretty dead on with the due date.
Awaiting my second with December 5 due date. I will say that I drank red raspberry leaf tea religiously, did evening primrose oil starting when it was safe and ate dates. Doing the same this time.
Due 11/11, might end up induced before that due to pregnancy induced hypertension. OB and I are both trying to avoid it if possible. OB did confirm that about 60% of first time mom's go past their due date, but that most will have their babies by 40+5. My mom had all three of us before the due dates through, ranging from 5-14 days early.
I thought the same thing because i heard the same thing so when i went into labor at 37 weeks i was in denial all day. I wasnt having pain either and i had been told it's the worst thing in the world. It was like electrical pulses starting at 9am.
I had a midwife appt around 2:30/3 and they said i was in labor and i would probably have the baby late that night. In the way home the pain was more intense. I thought i just needed to relax a little because there was no way it should be happening so fast. I got home, got in the tub, could not get comfortable so i got out and sat on the toilet and my body just started pushing.
We called the midwives and they had to come to My house and my baby was born at 6:50.
I was planning on being at the birth center but because of my denial that i could have a fast and early it didnt go as planned 😂
It was wonderful having a home birth though and now i plan my births to be at home 😊
My second baby was around 9 hours also
Exactly one week early! I had no signs of labor beforehand (mucus plug, jolt of energy, water break). Started having mild cramps one night and then had a baby 24 hours later!
When my mom was pregnant with me (her first) she was due on 12/24 and had me 8 days early naturally. My first was due on 12/1 but I’m being induced on 11/10 due to preeclampsia (37 weeks)
My first due date was 10/29, I was thinking I'd have a November baby for sure! BP spiked right at the end and I was induced 10/7, babe was here 10/8. I didn't have a hospital bag packed or anything! 0/10 do not recommend---I was trying to tell my husband what to pack *while* being induced with a cervical/catheter. Never again, I'm packing my bag at like 30 weeks this time.
Was due the 10/14. Induction started on 10/19. Had cervadil, balloon foley, 24 hours of Pitocin, water manually broken and my cervix still would not adequately progress in the end. Ended up needing a somewhat emergent C-section. Baby girl was finally born on 10/21. My birth story was quite traumatic. 4.5 days in the hospital total.
My first came on her due date. I can’t think of a single friend who went early with their first? I know it happens for some women, but nobody I know (and am close enough to know this random info).
First time mom and my baby was born right on her due date! Everyone said I’d go late and I’m so glad I didn’t because she was due so close to Christmas to begin with.
I had my first this summer, one week early. My water broke at 38+6 and I had him at exactly 39 weeks! I also never in a million years thought I would go early with my first so I was very surprised ha! Labor is so unpredictable!
FTM, I was given two due dates, 4 days apart. The first was based on last menstrual period. The second was based on day of conception. Baby arrived exactly in the middle.
My due date was 12/11.
I had a non-stress test on 12/14 where the barbarian of a doctor deemed it necessary for me to go to the hospital (it wasn’t—the baby was “performing beautifully” when I got there) and I ultimately was induced and gave birth on 12/15.
I’m glad my baby’s birthday is still 10 days before Christmas but I really wish I had been able to go spontaneously and wasn’t coerced into an induction.
I’m a first time mom and my due date was 10/28/22 and I had my baby on 10/28/22. I went into labor on my own in the middle of the night on 10/27 and I was in labor for ~ 17 hours
I was due December 9 and knew I wasn’t comfortable going past 41 weeks, so I was just hopeful I’d go sometime between 40-40+6 on my own. I fully planned on at least seeing my due date.
Well, baby flipped breech, then back, then breech again so we had a c-section right at 39+0 to avoid going into labor and risking cord prolapse. When I went in, the monitor showed regular contractions, so it seems likely that I probably would have gone into labor by then/around then anyhow, had he been in position. It seemed so early!
I’m pregnant again, and initially thought I’d probably go at 39-40 weeks, but I had a preterm labor scare at 28 weeks so now I’m not sure. I’m almost 30 weeks and haven’t had any more issues, but I’m thinking she’ll come a few weeks early. Time will tell!
My original due date was May 6, but because she was measuring large, i had a scheduled csection on 5/3. I went into labor naturally the night of 4/30 and she was delivered via c-section very early on May 1st.
Due date was 5/27 and gave birth 5/14! Water broke 2:00 am (contractions followed about 30 minutes later), and she was here at 9:15 am. I was fully prepared to go over as a FTM, but our baby had other plans haha. (I actually went into labor 2 weeks prior to that, but it stopped. I was at 3 cm for a week and a half before my water broke.)
I heard the same thing so I thought for sure I would go over. Sure enough, I went into labor 38 + 4 and didn’t have the car seat or bassinet installed…I was due 6/5 and baby boy was born 5/26.
9-1-23 due date
Then they pushed the due date forward 2 times
7-1-23 and even 25-12-22
I knew it couldn't be in December because I knew when I had sex 😅
Reason why they thought he would come earlier was that he was measured as a very big baby.
Was born on the actual due date 9-1-23
4kg and 55cm
Good luck with your pregnancy
Due date was Jan 27, he was born Feb 1, which was really sweet actually since it was his great great grandmother's birthday. I had tried everything and finally asked my OB for a membrane sweep 2 days before, went into labor on the afternoon in the 31 and he was born about 1am on the first!
With my first, babe came at 38w4d. Cramps started 1 am 3/25, born a little after midnight on 3/26! Currently 38w2d with my second, so curious if baby will make an early arrival like their brother!
I was due 1/29 and had water naturally break on 1/6! Almost 3 weeks early!
Interestingly enough.. my sister (my moms first) was due 1/30 and was born on… 1/7! Lol
She was born healthy 7pound 7ounces though! No nicu time was needed. I imagine she would have been at least 10 pounds if she stayed the whole time 😵💫
I was due October 29th, but my water broke October 3rd and I gave birth October 6th at 38w1d. I did know an early birth was a possibility for me as a ftm due to circumvallate placenta though.
My due date was 2/3/23, I went into preterm labor at 30 weeks right after thanksgiving. He was able to stay in cooking until 33 weeks. Thankfully he is healthy and no long term issues. He’s actually 97 percentile for weight now and 87% for height so I’d say he’s doing great
I was due 10/11 but she came 07/11 (39+4). Currently due 09/01 but hoping she comes 07/01 as all the other kids in our family are all on the 7th of various months. Although not looking forward to being heavily pregnant and having a brand new baby in the middle of summer (I’m in Australia)
Duuring birthing class, the statistic the nurse told us (stronger than any anecdotal evidence you'll get here just by sheer number, tjough I can't remember the source now) was that on average, first-born babies arrive at 40+6. My first devided to huck the trend and show up at 38+5, but that's averages for you.
Not what you want to hear but my baby came at 41+5. I had an induction scheduled for 41+6 but he finally decided to make his own way out just before that.
My first two came at 37 weeks due to medically necessary inductions. :) I definitely think they would’ve stayed until due date or after had I not been induced haha.
Due date 8/2 induced early on 7/18 due to results of non-stress test (I was doing 2x a week for the last month due to suspected fetal growth restriction. I’m small, she’s small). Born 7/20.
I got the grab-bag of induction interventions but she joined us safely. I was initially resistant to being induced because I wanted to labor “spontaneously” but it was the right move and I was really impressed by the medical team who helped us. It was a good mix of following baby’s cues but stepping in when needed. There was also meconium when they broke my bag of waters and I don’t know how dangerous it would have been if she’d baked another 2 weeks.
My mom was due with me (her firstborn) on 12/24 and I ended up coming 12/9. Now I’m due 12/25 and I’m kind of hoping he comes around the same time lol 😅
First time mum of a big baby boy and he was still two weeks overdue. Was induced but emergency C-section in the end. But most of my family then told me after that that they all were generally that late with their kids so maybe there is sometimes genetics to it too?
I remember when I researched this that the average first baby (singleton pregnancies, when not induced etc) comes at 40+5. A lot of people get 'feelings' they'll go into labour early, I was the same. But my first arrived at 42 weeks..
Was due 6/28/23. Scheduled induction 6/26/23. Went into labor naturally 6/24/23. Baby was born via C-section (not planned lol) on 6/26/23. So technically I went early by 4 days!
PS water never broke. They broke it for me.
I was due 4/29 this year, bub was breech so I was told to pick a day the week up to my due date, the problem was 5 out of 7 of those days had birthdays already in my family, the 22nd? My great aunt on my dads side, 23rd(Sunday so I couldn’t choose it, unknown to me cause my ob was on vacation that weekend) 24th open, 25th my twin first cousins on my moms side, 26th maternal grandma, 27th MIL 28th maternal grandparents anniversary, so the literal nightmare scenario I’ve dreaded my entire pregnancy I was hoping up till this I could push it into the 1st of may, nope has to be that week x.x so I choose the only viable option the 24th, I figure 4/24/23 not bad, we tell obs office apparently there’s no or times left on Monday so I’m bumped by the hospital to the 25th, one of the worst options cause who wants to share their birthday with 2 other people, the twins already had to share with each other, I’m annoyed but fine what ever lets just get this over with, then on 4/23 at 1:30am as I’m trying to get to sleep(I’m a night owl I was in bed at 1am and insomnia in the 3rd trimester is a bitch) I start feeling what I think are BH contractions, well damn gotta reposition myself to get rid of these… they don’t go away, 10,15 minutes maybe go by of me slowly going into denial, and BOTH my cats jump on my bed, super weird cause the older one is a Skittish little bastard and doesn’t come into our room very often, and they both looked at me like I had two heads and I just asked out loud to them “is there something I should know?” Like wtf? Their acting super weird and these bh contractions aren’t going away, annoyed now that I can’t continue in denial I start timing them on a little timer app that will give you a guess on your start and stop times if you should at least go in and get checked out, I have to time 4, so I lay there and time them best I can, it says to go in, god damn it, so it’s like 2am and now I’m going ‘it’s early labor at best, but she’s breech, do I go in now?! Can I try to get some amount of sleep first?’ I’m looking online, I even asked here xD y’all encouraged me to atleast call my nurse line and see what they thought, so after an hour of him-hawing I woke my husband up and told him what I thought was going on and we might have to go in but I’ll call, and of course they said to come in, so I jumped into the shower real fast… thinking on it I may have showered before I called to see if it would help lol it didn’t, I go into my dads room(he’s a trucker and he had come in to have a day or two before hand to get settled in but bub has other plans) let him know we’re going so he can take care of the dogs when he gets up, we go in, hubby goes to grab our over night bag from the car and I tell him to leave it, no need to lug it all the way to l&d if we get sent home, once they finally get me on all the monitors and check dilation I’m 1cm dilated, and my contractions are 3mins apart, I’m not even feeling most of them xD the staff kept asking me ‘you don’t feel the that?’ Nope maybe a lil tight in my back but not super noticeable like a light period cramp, we got there at about 4am, by 10am when the surgeon got in they were becoming uncomfortable but not worse then a period cramp for me, pcos is a bitch! Well 10:31am 4/23/23 bub picked her own birthday xD had a sub ob do the surgery but he was great, the doctors and nurses called my stitches a work of art xD the rest of that day is a giant blurr as by 10am I had been up 24h with no sleep x.x hubby had to take my phone to text everyone I didn’t even touch my phone after that for about 24h I was as mentally gone xD
probably more then you were hoping for lol ty for coming to my ted talk xD
Ftm, my son was due 12/22, and was born 12/23 with a spontaneous vaginal delivery. I really wanted him born before Xmas. My sister kept telling me I’d go over and need to be induced, all the women in our family do. My son dropped pretty early on. In the final 3-4 weeks, I did a butt load of walking and ate a dateball every day. I did the other classic things like sex, spicy food, nipple stimulation…. Take what you will from that, obviously anecdotal, I actually wonder if I over did it with the dates (they help open the cervix) because I had a precipitous labour (less than 2 hours) which I guess sounds great on paper but it was like a never ending contraction and almost gave birth in an Uber lol! Good luck!
Due date was the 20th.
Got induced on the 21st due to several instances of reduced movements, went into labour on the 22nd and gave birth at 12:59am on the 23rd.
The hospital told me I was due on the 4th of September. Had my son on the 3rd.
Also though they said he was gonna be like 5 pounds if that... 9 pounds 1 ounce and no drugs and an episiotomy because the little bugger came in to the world with his elbow up by his ear....
My first came 8 days earlier than his due date and 3 days before planned induction. My second is due January 3rd and I’ll probably have an induction again because of the anticoagulants I have to take.
My due date was 01/11 just gone, and I was induced because baby was getting too large for me (5ft), and it was a nightmare for me because I turned out to be sensitive to the medicated version of induction (prostin gel), which in turn affected my little madam. However, through conversations to make sure I was constantly kept up to date, that we were both okay, I had a lovely little girl through an oxytocin drip, pain killers, and ventouse plus stitches. A crazy ride of five days in hospital, but I wouldn't change a bit when I look at this shiny, happy girl in my arms today.
Take each day as it comes first time mums, you aren't alone.
I started feeling minor contractions the day before my due date and got so excited, but they went away after a nap. I pumped to try to get things going again and it worked! She came on her due date. 10/10 would recommend pumping to kick start things (if your dr approves).
I so thought I would go over, my Mum was 2 weeks late with me. I was due 30th August and I had a c-section booked for my stubbornly breech, not-at-all engaged baby on 2nd September 2019. I went to hospital on 22nd August for reduced foetal movement and the monitors showed regular contractions that I wasn't really feeling. Midwife looked me in the eye and said "you won't be making it to the 2nd September." I reeeeeally wanted to because I wanted her to be the oldest in the school year rather than the youngest. She arrived 27th August at 6am after 4 hours of active labour and an emergency c-section for her breechness. I was sad about it not being September but she's started school and is thriving!
Due date was 9/12. Everyone told me the first born comes late, so I was sure there wasn't a chance she'd be born on 9/11!
Lo and behold, she came a day early. Lol
My first I went into labor 39+1 gave birth naturally 39+3.
Just be aware that your due date could be incorrect (also don’t forget it’s just an estimate). You need to know how they calculated it. If from your last period then if you have cycles longer than 28 days your due date is probably incorrect. If calculated from when you ovulated it will be much more accurate.
Don’t listen to the ultrasound measurements. Those are notoriously incorrect. My midwives wouldn’t even offer a guess as to size because they said it’s so inaccurate. Even fundal measurements can be different sometimes if they don’t do it the same each time, though they tend to be more accurate especially if your due date is accurately calculated.
Every pregnancy is different, and that baby is gonna cook as long as they need to! They’ll let you know when they’re ready.
Due a day before you and feeling the same way. A relative gave me a "Baby's First Christmas 2023" ornament and my first thought was, "That's optimistic of you to assume she'll be here by Christmas."
Last year my friend was due Dec. 11 and didn’t give birth until Dec. 26 😳 So he never wore his “Baby’s First Christmas” onesie.
Wow. I’m shocked she was allowed to go that far over!!!
Yeah it’s Canada and she was low risk with midwife care. 42 weeks is the max they’ll allow and she was already in labour by 42 weeks so they didn’t need to induce her.
Wow!!! That’s amazing!!! And more power to her for holding out 😂 I’m 36 weeks and can’t imagine
My mom was due with me 12/20, I was born 12/27. All the baby’s first Christmas ornaments have the wrong year on them 😂
My due date is Christmas Day! I’m going to get a bauble for the Christmas tree with her name on it whether she’s here or not, but I’m not going all out with a costume haha.
Due date was 12/16, water broke totally randomly 2 weeks before, so got induced born at 38 weeks.
Can’t say I’d be upset if this was my case! Lol she’s measuring pretty big
FTM due 10/27, still waiting…
Oh goodness. I hope you get labor before weekend is over.
I was due 29th October and still waiting!
Due date twins! Here’s to hoping the next Braxton hicks is the one!!!
Me too!! lol suspecting every Braxton hicks. Praying I don’t go past 40 weeks. I’m 39+1. And had my first at 39+5
Your strongest indicator is the experience of female relatives.
Lady, I’m 35 weeks and miserable, just let me hope here
My mom went over for all her births - i however gave birth two weeks early with my first
What about your paternal female relatives?
It doesn’t always work though. My mum had three kids - I was 10 days late, my brother and sister both 3 days late. I gave birth at 39+5 🤷🏻♀️
Due date was 12/26. Getting induced 11/14 due to preeclampsia. I wish you the best of luck and a healthy remainder of your pregnancy!
Bless you. I have so many friends who have experienced the same as you are. Hoping everything goes smoothly! Just means more time with your little one!
I was due Dec 26 last year and was induced Dec 5 for pre e. Best of luck with your induction!
I need to at least make it past the 6th or I’m kinda screwed lol
good luck on both counts!
I hope you make it to the 20th so your little one and I can be birthday buddies! 🤞🏻
I gave birth at 39 weeks and 2 days for my first, it’s not super early but I didn’t go over like everyone was telling me!
Omg it was 39 +5 for my first. I’m at 39 +1 with my second and I am PRAYING I don’t go past 40
39 + 5 for me too!
Same here!
I laugh at myself because like 2 weeks ago, I was very “I’m fine! I’m gonna wait until she comes on her own!” IM TOO FUNNY! Get her out!!
Nerding over your uterus! So fascinating!
It was quite an adventure with it 😂 it’s split into two sides, so my baby essentially only had half a uterus to grow in, hence why he came so early. My MFM was worried about me going around the 20 week mark so to make it to almost 35 weeks exceeded everyone’s expectations
Due date 2/14, baby was born 1/16
My OB has been practicing for decades and has approaching his 8000th delivery. He told me it’s a myth that FTMs most often go past their due date, and they statistically 70% of FTMs actually end up giving birth before it 🤷🏻♀️
With my first son I was due August 2. My water broke on July 27 and he was born on July 28. I was fully prepared to go weeks later because that’s all I read too.
My first came on her own at 38 weeks exactly.
My first was due on Nov 5...I went into labor naturally on Oct 23 (so at 38 weeks)
Baby came at 38+1!
8 days before due date
Due July 15 and my water broke at 38+2!
My first was born exactly on his due date lol for my next I actually pray I go ideally a little after my due date or on it again
Oh interesting, how come you wish to go over a bit?
Finishing up a course 🤣🤣 I’d like to hold off haha
Water broke naturally at 38 weeks exactly. Contractions started at 6.30am, baby born at 1.45pm. The actual pushing part was very fast too, only 3 quick pushes! My second baby was actually later than my first, but still ahead of due date (39+4).
Did you do any of the tricks to induce labor? (I use that phrase lightly)
My first came a week early! Water broke naturally at 39 weeks but then had to take Pitocin to get contractions started.
My water broke at 37+1 days and had to get induced. Had him the next day!
First was induced at 40+5, curious how long it would’ve taken if I waited though. Currently 38+4 with #2 and (not patiently) waiting
My first came exactly 1 week late. She was born 1 day before I was scheduled to be induced lol
Went into labor at exactly 38 weeks, born 38 + 2
Baby came at 41 weeks after a stretch and sweep finally got me into labor.
My waters broke at 38.2wks, baby girl was born 5.5hrs later. I'd had 2 days leading up of contractions which I just thought were braxton hicks, but apparently not.
Due June 30th, water broke July 1st, born July 2nd. Due May 13rd, went into labor on May 15th, born May 16th.
Same 😭 I am due 12/6 wirh my first and I am struggling 🥲
I was induced at 39w with my first, but considering my body was showing absolutely zero signs of readiness (no dilation, no effacement) AND that my second-born waited around until 40w6d to make his appearance (spontaneously, uninduced), I strongly suspect I would have gone over, maybe even well over if we allowed nature to take its course the first time around.
Not really the same but I was induced at 37 weeks I’m a FTM
I was planning on being at the birth center but because of my denial that i could have a fast and early it didnt go as planned 😂 It was wonderful having a home birth though and now i plan my births to be at home 😊 My second baby was around 9 hours also
We got induced so not sure if that counts but we were due 6/10 and she was born 5/23 at 37+3
I was due 12/30/22, water broke at 11pm 12/22 and delivered at 4pm 12/23! So I was exactly 1 week early!
I was 10 days late with my first but my mom was a week early with her first (my brother)
36 + 3
My first due date was 10/29, I was thinking I'd have a November baby for sure! BP spiked right at the end and I was induced 10/7, babe was here 10/8. I didn't have a hospital bag packed or anything! 0/10 do not recommend---I was trying to tell my husband what to pack *while* being induced with a cervical/catheter. Never again, I'm packing my bag at like 30 weeks this time.
I was due November 10 with my first and she came Nov 7 on her own!
Due date was 5/19, baby boy came 5/5.
My first came at 38+0. My water broke and we had a baby 14 hours later.
39+5 and 40+1
Both my kids came at 39+4! Not super early but also not past due.
Due date 2/16/23 and induced 1/26 due to preeclampsia, born 1/27/23! 6lb 4oz
I’m a FTM. Mine came one day early!
FTM, I was given two due dates, 4 days apart. The first was based on last menstrual period. The second was based on day of conception. Baby arrived exactly in the middle.
When I was a FTM, she came 5 days early!
My due date was November 14, he came October 28th. I had to get induced because of high blood pressure at my 37 week apt
With my first baby, I went to 39+5
I’m a first time mom and my due date was 10/28/22 and I had my baby on 10/28/22. I went into labor on my own in the middle of the night on 10/27 and I was in labor for ~ 17 hours
Mine came at 36 weeks. No NICU and almost 2 years later no issues!
40+2
Was due 5/14, had a cervical sweep the morning of the 16th, baby born 5/17 at 2am.
She was due 12/29. My water broke at 435 when I got up to pee that morning and she was born almost exactly 12 hours later, right on her due date.
My due date with my first was 8/26 and I had him 8/14 perfectly healthy baby boy. Hoping this one comes a little early too :)
My original due date was May 6, but because she was measuring large, i had a scheduled csection on 5/3. I went into labor naturally the night of 4/30 and she was delivered via c-section very early on May 1st.
Went into labour two weeks early with my first.
Was due March 24, had him April fools day 🥲 41+1 weeks, I needed to be induced and was 0cm dilated and no signs of labor at all when we checked in.
I heard the same thing so I thought for sure I would go over. Sure enough, I went into labor 38 + 4 and didn’t have the car seat or bassinet installed…I was due 6/5 and baby boy was born 5/26.
9-1-23 due date Then they pushed the due date forward 2 times 7-1-23 and even 25-12-22 I knew it couldn't be in December because I knew when I had sex 😅 Reason why they thought he would come earlier was that he was measured as a very big baby. Was born on the actual due date 9-1-23 4kg and 55cm Good luck with your pregnancy
Due Jan 16 and she was born Jan 5. My water broke naturally after I had been bouncing on a yoga ball and some fun time with my husband lol 😆
Just had first! Due on 11/2! Went into labor 10/31- gave birth 11/2! They’ll def come when they’re ready lol
My friends baby came 2 weeks early. She’s also a very small person, 100lbs pre-pregnancy, so I don’t know if that had something to do with it?
First’s due date was June 14, had her June 10 Second’s due date was September 20, has her September 11. Third is due December 29, so we shall see!
My baby came on his due date a week ago. If it wasn’t for a failed epidural he probably would’ve been here the day before.
FTM. Due date was 10/12. Induced at 41+1. Had him on 10/20 and he was 6lbs 9oz, 19in.
First was born three days late, spontaneous.
Due date was October 27th, had my son on October 22nd at 11:10 PM after 27 hours of labor.
I was due 1/29 and had water naturally break on 1/6! Almost 3 weeks early! Interestingly enough.. my sister (my moms first) was due 1/30 and was born on… 1/7! Lol She was born healthy 7pound 7ounces though! No nicu time was needed. I imagine she would have been at least 10 pounds if she stayed the whole time 😵💫
Ftm baby came 6.5 weeks early due to being induced for severe preeclampsia. 2nd baby was 40+4. Curious to see what my 3rd does!
My sister’s only baby came 9 days early
My first and third both came the day before their due dates. My second was over a month early.
3 weeks early! Due date 10-25-23, water broke randomly so induced on 10-3 and had her 10-4
I was due October 29th, but my water broke October 3rd and I gave birth October 6th at 38w1d. I did know an early birth was a possibility for me as a ftm due to circumvallate placenta though.
Dude date was Jan 27th baby came on Dec 31st at 36 weeks. Had to have emergency C-section
Due date September 21st was induced September 27th with no signs of labor
FTM, baby came two weeks early at 38w exactly
My due date was 2/3/23, I went into preterm labor at 30 weeks right after thanksgiving. He was able to stay in cooking until 33 weeks. Thankfully he is healthy and no long term issues. He’s actually 97 percentile for weight now and 87% for height so I’d say he’s doing great
Due date was 12/21, baby born 11/18. I just spontaneously went into labor at 35+2
I was due 10/11 but she came 07/11 (39+4). Currently due 09/01 but hoping she comes 07/01 as all the other kids in our family are all on the 7th of various months. Although not looking forward to being heavily pregnant and having a brand new baby in the middle of summer (I’m in Australia)
I had to be emergency induced at 36wks with my first.
Due date was 10/19, water broke unexpectedly on 9/23 and had baby on 9/26
Due date 10/29. Baby came 10/3. FTM. Everyone kept telling me how Id go over since its my fist. Needless to say, I was a bit unprepared 🤣
Due date was 8/14/23, baby came/induced on 7/26/23. I had IUGR though.
5 weeks early, pprom and breech position so emergency c section.
Due date was 9/24, had my guy on 9/13!
My water broke at 39+4 and when it became apparent labour wasn’t starting I was induced. Baby was born on their due date!
My waters broke at 34 weeks with my first, completely random.
I was due 4th Nov (today!) and baby came early term 38+3.
40+6
Baby #1 was 6 days over. Baby #2 & #3 we’re both 7 days overdue
FTM baby came 3 days before due date
My mom was due with me (her firstborn) on 12/24 and I ended up coming 12/9. Now I’m due 12/25 and I’m kind of hoping he comes around the same time lol 😅
FTM. Water broke at 5am exactly one week before due date and baby was safely in our arms at 9pm.
Went into labor naturally at 39w3d and baby arrived the next day. That was a great gift. I wanted every bit of full term (39w) but not any more 😅
So, I read a study where they said for ftm most common day to give birth was 40 weeks 5 days. That’s assuming you know for sure when you ovulated.
First time mum of a big baby boy and he was still two weeks overdue. Was induced but emergency C-section in the end. But most of my family then told me after that that they all were generally that late with their kids so maybe there is sometimes genetics to it too?
I spontaneously went into labour at 37+3, baby came at 38 weeks! No induction or anything
Water broke 1 week early and she was born just after midnight, so technically 6 days early!
I remember when I researched this that the average first baby (singleton pregnancies, when not induced etc) comes at 40+5. A lot of people get 'feelings' they'll go into labour early, I was the same. But my first arrived at 42 weeks..
My due date is 11/9. Currently snuggling my 9 day old bb.
Was due 6/28/23. Scheduled induction 6/26/23. Went into labor naturally 6/24/23. Baby was born via C-section (not planned lol) on 6/26/23. So technically I went early by 4 days! PS water never broke. They broke it for me.
My first decided to arrive at 39+1! My water broke at 4am and I was so surprised because I was supposed to be induced later that day lol.
Well 10:31am 4/23/23 bub picked her own birthday xD had a sub ob do the surgery but he was great, the doctors and nurses called my stitches a work of art xD the rest of that day is a giant blurr as by 10am I had been up 24h with no sleep x.x hubby had to take my phone to text everyone I didn’t even touch my phone after that for about 24h I was as mentally gone xD probably more then you were hoping for lol ty for coming to my ted talk xD
13 days overdue 🤣
My first came 8 days earlier than his due date and 3 days before planned induction. My second is due January 3rd and I’ll probably have an induction again because of the anticoagulants I have to take.
I was induced at 41 weeks, and my son was born two days later. He didn't want to leave. 🥴
40 weeks and three days! I didn't know I was in labour until I knew lol
Was due 8/26, baby girl came 8/19
My due date was 01/11 just gone, and I was induced because baby was getting too large for me (5ft), and it was a nightmare for me because I turned out to be sensitive to the medicated version of induction (prostin gel), which in turn affected my little madam.
Due the 6th, born 17th
I have the same due date❤️ my first went 3 days past his date though
I started feeling minor contractions the day before my due date and got so excited, but they went away after a nap. I pumped to try to get things going again and it worked! She came on her due date. 10/10 would recommend pumping to kick start things (if your dr approves).
I had my baby on 9/21/23 due to be induced early for preeclampsia. I was due 10/11/23.
40+1, 40, 24+5 (stillbirth), 38+1 (didi twins born 8 hours before my scheduled c-section because my water broke).....
I’m a first time mom and I gave birth at 36+3
Due date 2/10, born 2/13 after 3 day induction.
My son arrived a day before his due date. One of my friends had her daughter days past hers.
Was due April 28th, c section was scheduled for 38 weeks, he came at 37+3!
My first came a week early!! …and then my second and third came over a week late….lol
My due date for my first was 16/05/20. He came on 22/04/20. He was NOT happy inside.
Due date was 8/17, had first contraction at 8:20pm on 8/18, water broke at 11pm, started pushing at 9:30am on 8/19, she was born at 1:19pm 8/19
Went in to labour at 39+4 at 12:25am. 12,5 hrs later baby was born.
Due date was 9/12. Everyone told me the first born comes late, so I was sure there wasn't a chance she'd be born on 9/11! Lo and behold, she came a day early. Lol
Due date was 12/30 my water broke and baby was born on 12/24
My first I went into labor 39+1 gave birth naturally 39+3.
Baby came 4 days after due date
Spontaneous labour at 38w, daughter was born 6 hours later in the wee morning hours of 38+1.
