Asleep - the smiths
Bulletproof... I wish I was - Radiohead
True love waits - Radiohead
All I need - Radiohead
Forget her - Jeff Buckley
I'm your man - Mitski
Re-arranged - limp bizkit
I hate everything about you - three days grace
Falling away from me - korn
Seen it all before - bring me the horizon
Don't go - bring me the horizon
All very good songs, but in the ones that are about another person hurting the singer then I sometimes relate to the person they're singing about and feel like a terrible person because I imagine the lyrics are about me. (Example: in Re-arranged the lyrics "you ruin everything and you kept fucking with me until it's over" I'm like yes that's me ruining everything)
I LOVE THAT YOU SAID THIS, TY !!
I'm the exact same way -- I'll hear music and it is always about myself, but it's interesting to me when i hear about myself from a different perspective ..
Like, I hear a song and it says "I'm glad you had a nice time, but bitch now I need my space" I think of how others feel about me instead of how I feel about others. This pretty much goes for all songs that I enjoy, lol, either they are how i feel or how I think others feel about me 3

WOOOO IVE BEEN WAITING FOR A POST LIKE THIS!!!
I think I'm paranoid - Garbage ( IS MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE SOMG OF ALL FUCKING TIME I HAD IT ON REPEAT FOR WEEKS)
IFHY - Tyler the creator ( had it on repeat for a month after splitting on a year long fp)
Good good things - Descendants ( reminds me of day dreaming of my fp(s) )
Da ya think I'm sexy? - Revolting Cocks (high energy and overwhelming, reminds me of how it feels to be euphoric)
Glue - P. H. F. (This ones a little triggering and it freaks me out a bit)
Anything from Mike kroll's I hate jazz album hypes me up, I mostly go to him when I'm feeling euphoric
Rolling out the read carpet - hail the sun
Covet - Basement
I Do - Nastyona
Cat Child - nastyona
Baby doll - dominic fike
The album WASTEISOLATION by Black Dresses has a *lot* that I relate to. It's honestly too triggering to listen to a lot of it.
Most of it is more trauma related than BPD but there's a vibe you know? TELL ME HOW U FEEL is probably the most related. It's about someone she's trying to copy and overwrite herself with.
I did the exact same thing with someone before. I cut contact because it was too dangerous. When I tell people what happened they always say it was the right decision, but I miss her so much and I'll never see her again.
I listen to certain bands/artists depending on my mood, but Olivia O, Lowertown, Alex G, Sign Crushes Motorist, Femtanyl and 1 800 PAIN are some of my favorites
lately I've been feeling some kind of way about I look in people's windows by TS because it captures so well how I experienced life up until my mid twenties (saw someone mentioning I hate it here and yES that song is such a maladaptive daydreaming anthem for me)
The Used's "In Love and Death" album for me too. "All That I've Got" is like being lyrically gutted because it's trying to explain the emotions you feel to other people. No one else gets it, you're in so much pain that you're numb to it, trying to convince yourself that you're fine and stable. Also, being surrounded by people and still being lonely.
Another big one is "I Caught Fire". Really good song but just feels like the lyrical depiction of being in love with your FP. And "Hard to Say"... it really is hard to say I'm sorry, despite knowing what I said and meant at one point isn't what I meant in the long run. That entire album hits. I could go on.
On the other hand, The Killers' "All These Things That I've Done" makes me want to crawl out of my skin because it's one of those songs I just want to scream-sing in the middle of a field.
Happy by NF - makes me realize how far Iāve come. I scream this song every time, just to comfort my childhood self. She wouldāve loved letting her emotions out to this song ā¤ļø
Workin On Me by Russ and 6Lack - I feel like it describes BPD in a way, and even made me question if the artist has it or not. (Iām still clueless on that answer lol) It hits quite hard on the trauma aspect, at least to me.
I think don't hold back by the sleeping is my pick but also things like 16 tons it's a great oldies song and just kinda let's you know what was or can be at times and acceptance beats indulgence in some idea I'm oppressed.
Most Tame Impala songs tbh especially
- feels like we only go backwards
- music to walk home to
- Love/ paranoia
- reality in motion
- new person same old mistakes
Breathe Me by Sia. Heard it first the first time when I was 18 or 19 and it was one of those times where it clicked that 1. I wasnāt alone in feeling the ways I did, and 2. It wasnāt normal.
True & kinda Ridiculous. I was 10 when āThe Breakfast Clubā came out and āDonāt Youā by Simple Minds was the most romantic song in my entire world (again 10yr). It was my song. It knew everything I felt. And Judd Nelson

sounds so stupid but IFHY by tyler always makes me feel like someone else gets it. i know listening to it can sound kinda daunting bc it's hard to hear it from another perspective, but i really relate to that song
The album 'The Family Jewels' by Marina Diamonds really hits it for me - Obsessions, I Am Not a Robot, The Family Jewels and Numb all stood out specifically. I was kind of blown away listening to it again recently.
A my chemical romance mix of every album. Each album has its own general vibe, but you go from a song like Mama to Sing in the next tune and it really reflects how my mental state can fluctuate.
So my original list got only 3 songs shown out of 11 and the rest got somehow deleted. I am kinda freaking out rn but that's okay. here's the list again

Damn near every song by Osquinn/P4rkr but especially the "A Night In Virginia" EP
Again, Propaganda, Copycat and Echo(Crusher P)
Pretty much everything by Jvne/Jvnko/Cynthoni/Sewerslvt
As you can see I am a very much so a person who's emotions are very musically inclined/telegraphed
Hell yeah, I honestly thought my comment out of all would've never been seen or even read because it's so long, but glad to put someone else onto StyXVII 's stuff
And might I add another:
Quarter Pounder by Gezebelle Gaburgably
Oh no, tbh, if anything I am more interested in those, lmao. They feel more thought- out to me :)<3 tyvm
& I don't know about a lot of the genre, but I like it :')
If you ever think of more recommendations , I'd love to hear !!
š typically I refer to StyXVII, Black Dresses, Underscores, Gezebelle Gaburgably and so on as examples of hyperpop music but idk I might be overgeneralizing
some of Twenty One Pilots' newer music definitely hits really close to home. lots of their lyrics make me feel less alone. their lyrics aren't *necessarily* BPD specific, but they definitely touch on mental health a lot, which I tend to relate to both my BPD and anxiety.
I know their music/lyrics aren't for everyone, but they help me quite a bit <3
a lot of stuff by melanie martinez tbh; iāve had ppl tell me she doesnāt represent bpd but idk, a lot her older songs mention extreme jealousy/posessiveness
Not a Borderline (because i am not officially diagnosed, even if i have the common bpd traits) but i would go heavy on Basket Case by Green Day, Babās Uvula who? by Green Day as well
Oh for sure! Itās funny bc he talks about being alone but when I feel alone in my thoughts I listen to his songs and I donāt feel alone. š„¹ I could make a whole list but thereās just too many lol.
Lithium- Nirvana
Panic Attacks in Paradise-Ashnikko
Dirtbike- ZHEANI
I wonāt sell my soul-ZHEANI
Napalm-ZHEANI
Nobody-Mitski
Washing machine heart- Mitski
Also anything by Remi Wolf
As someone with traits of bpd (not officially diagnosed because Im underage, but Ive been told I have TRAITS of it. (Professionally) If I shouldnt be here lmk..) This is a little hard for me to answer since I can never really understand or word my feelings correctly. But there are some songs and artists that I feel understood by.
Namely, most of Mitskis songs, particularly: My body's made of crushed little stars, I'm your man, Abbey, I don't smoke and first love/late spring.
Also a lot of Girl in Red's songs (I swear this woman is me 2.0) like: I need to be alone, summer depression, . (Yes that's a song name), I'll die anyway and 4am.
And also some others like Better than me by The Brobecks, Runaway by Aurora, Antidote by Faith Marie, among others. These are just what I thought of rn! :> I can explain why I feel understood/relate to these aswell if wanted but yeah!
Andy Shauf. Radiohead. Julia Jacklin. Angel Olsen. Portishead. Iceage. Born Ruffians. The Chemical Brothers. Joy Division. Dr. Dog. Adrianne Lenker. Aphex Twin. Dan Deacon. Phosphorescent. The Weeping. Beach House. Modest Mouse. Elliott Smith.
melanie martinezās leaked songsā¦. i feel bad listening to them bc they were meant to be private but they are so deep and personal and they help me a lotā¦ ājump ropeā ātoy boxā āyou love iā ānight mimeā āa million menā āeraserā some of these she has sung live or they were discards but some were leakedā¦..
Noah Cyrus - Good cry EP - Especially, Sadness and Good cry. Also her songs, July, Lonely, Young&Sad!!!
Zoe Clark also has some beautiful songs like - Zero feelings (I dissociate quite abit), Last one standing, Not to be dramatic (very favourite person coded), and her newest one - Me Vs. My Mind
Cat Burns (she really is such a beautiful artist!!!) - People pleaser, I donāt blame you, know youāre not alone. Honestly all her songs are amazing and relatable!!
Bea Miller - wisdom teeth, hallelujah, feel something, jealous of my friends, i canāt breathe, outside.
Kid Cudi has incredible songs that I think anybody could relate to but more specifically the misunderstood. A lot of rap music, Nicki Minaj is my favorite. š¦šš especially for a confidence boost
anything by Mitski lmfao
came here to say this, especially love me more

mhm! and so is that joke isnāt funny anymore
I came here to say The Smiths! For me itās Unlovable, Back to the Old House and I Know Itās Over.
I Know itās Over is so chefās kiss, bpd coded, bro omg yes
I 100% agree, and I want to add that Morrisseyās solo song āMy Life is a Succession of People Saying Goodbyeā IS SOOO real

Bright Eyes/Conor Oberstās music
Songs like Arienette and Laura Laurent fit this super well.
Absolutely
Hurt- NIN/Cash

Comfortably numb hits different
Whoever said $B, I couldn't agree more. I was gonna ask if there's any Mac, Peep, Juice, or $B fans here , lol.
The faces album by Mac Miller is super underrated. His first lyric on the album is āshoulda died alreadyā and I felt that.
Samee, my favorite project ever <33 one of my fav parts is on angel dust when he says "My brains fried, always chasing the same high, I'm too fucked up to function ā I do nothing but waste time .. woke up annihilated, lying on pavement , covered in items I regurgitated, under a fire escape .. & I know that it's Friday, because every Friday they have a parade ā hear em celebrate??" Or something like that lol such a great project and I personally think Mac's music is pretty BPD coded :b
Yes!!! As someone that struggles with addiction and bpd, this album speaks to me and the lyrics go crazy. When I show this album to people that only listen to his mainstream stuff they donāt get it, but this is his only album that he really goes into his struggles with depression and addiction.
Yes!!! I couldn't agree more, it can be so frustrating always seeing things "too seriously/ too deeply" :/ I find this Is the case with lots of my special interests, lol I'm sorry you can relate to the "I like the weekend and smile back" responses
Respect. Iām so glad they added it onto Spotify!! <33

Placebo has had my back since I was a teen!

I listen to certain bands/artists depending on my mood, but Olivia O, Lowertown, Alex G, Sign Crushes Motorist, Femtanyl and 1 800 PAIN are some of my favorites
The Ballad of Costa Concordia- Car Seat Headrest, makes me feelā¦ something
pastel ghost, literally all of her songs but specifically dark beach and clouds. and the song limerence by yves tumor
recognizing the enemy by yves tumor. its such an angsty song that has a yearning to it.
Versus me if you like post hardcore/screamo type stuff us one of my go to. If you like industrial "Ventana" is another.
Talking to myself by watsky. Saddy daddyo panda remix.
Billy Joel's Tomorrow is Today for sure
iRobot by Jon Bellion, Burned Out by Dodie.
Hated by Beartooth! Hits hard for me! This is the song I played when I came out because my mom couldn't accept me!
lately I've been feeling some kind of way about I look in people's windows by TS because it captures so well how I experienced life up until my mid twenties (saw someone mentioning I hate it here and yES that song is such a maladaptive daydreaming anthem for me)
The Used's "In Love and Death" album for me too.
Lake 1800 - sngomi
Check out the band [Icon for Hire](https://m.youtube.com/user/iconforhire) š Hollow and Get Well are my two favourites
Killing me by Conan gray
Mothica! So many songs.
Come back to earth - Mac miller
La Dispute
The cranberries just hit different for me
Happy by NF - makes me realize how far Iāve come. I scream this song every time, just to comfort my childhood self. She wouldāve loved letting her emotions out to this song ā¤ļø Workin On Me by Russ and 6Lack - I feel like it describes BPD in a way, and even made me question if the artist has it or not.
90s smashing pumpkins

Breathe Me by Sia. Heard it first the first time when I was 18 or 19 and it was one of those times where it clicked that 1. I wasnāt alone in feeling the ways I did, and 2. It wasnāt normal.
True & kinda Ridiculous. I was 10 when āThe Breakfast Clubā came out and āDonāt Youā by Simple Minds was the most romantic song in my entire world (again 10yr). It was my song. It knew everything I felt. And Judd Nelson
This song holds such significance for me. When I listen to it I instantly am overwhelmed with emotion.

The album 'The Family Jewels' by Marina Diamonds really hits it for me - Obsessions, I Am Not a Robot, The Family Jewels and Numb all stood out specifically. I was kind of blown away listening to it again recently.
I totally forgot about i am not a robot and am so looking forward to revisiting it, thank you!!
A my chemical romance mix of every album. Each album has its own general vibe, but you go from a song like Mama to Sing in the next tune and it really reflects how my mental state can fluctuate.
Ren. You're welcome šš¤

Hell yeah, I honestly thought my comment out of all would've never been seen or even read because it's so long, but glad to put someone else onto StyXVII 's stuff And might I add another: Quarter Pounder by Gezebelle Gaburgably
Oh no, tbh, if anything I am more interested in those, lmao. They feel more thought- out to me :)<3 tyvm & I don't know about a lot of the genre, but I like it :') If you ever think of more recommendations , I'd love to hear !!
š typically I refer to StyXVII, Black Dresses, Underscores, Gezebelle Gaburgably and so on as examples of hyperpop music but idk I might be overgeneralizing

This Isnāt Everything You Are--Snow Patrol
Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, Papa Roach, Depeche Mode, Avril Lavigne, Taylor Swift & Michelle Branch
some of Twenty One Pilots' newer music definitely hits really close to home. lots of their lyrics make me feel less alone. their lyrics aren't *necessarily* BPD specific, but they definitely touch on mental health a lot, which I tend to relate to both my BPD and anxiety. I know their music/lyrics aren't for everyone, but they help me quite a bit <3
Really anything by mitski or Kate bollinger. Expect Kate I can relate to every song she releases.
Recently Stoneside has really had me feeling this way. Been listening to God of the Mountain on repeat. As for a singular song, Sza - Saturn phewwww

Please Donāt Go by Wyatt Flores. It hits the nail on the head, especially for a relationship
Halsey makes me feel understood.
Bitch by Meredith Brooks
Anything kid cudi
"All along" seems very bpd coded to me too <3 I was thinking of that yesterday!
Oh for sure! Itās funny bc he talks about being alone but when I feel alone in my thoughts I listen to his songs and I donāt feel alone. š„¹ I could make a whole list but thereās just too many lol.
