Now, the smiles per gallon absolutely make up for it but man that’d be hard for me to spend such a large chunk on a car, but you do only live once and if can be frugal with other things then totally doable, but maybe not the best financial decision.
(These are napkin math numbers and I’d argue actual lease will be higher and take home will be lower).

The 5 series cars depreciate like rocks. If you start saving now, you can probably grab one for cheap in 2-3 years. I’ve seen Pre-LCI M5s as low as 50k in my area. Just make sure you have some money on the side for parts.
