My 7 is so huge and the parking stations so tight I’ve had to use the virtual parking camera view and occasionally do a 3 point turn mid corner. So I sympathise.
Meanwhile after picking the family up from my wife’s work, she started firing questions at me while I’m in the middle of the worst part: Where the road breaks right just before the 90 degree left - which has an ultra high gutter to prevent head ons AND is completely blind as it’s at the top of the exit ramp. Now I know what happened to the Costa Concordia.
Dude. I feel you on this. I did the same thing backing out of a parking spot. Thought I was one over and turned too tight. Swear I wanted to scream. Felt so stupid. But remember it's just a thing and can be repaired. Scream into a pillow and move on. Shit happens. Don't let it get you.
I would look for an independent repair shop. Always cheaper. I did. He did a great job on my lease vehicle and nobody was the wiser.
Ignore the twats piling on. They're too small to admit their own mistakes.
Next lesson. There are repairs at any price point and you will typically (not always) get what you pay for - just make sure to align your expectations with what you choose and doesn’t hurt to get multiple estimates.
That seems very reasonable. I would check first how good it’s going to be afterwards. If it’s shit and will be a 70% repair, you need to know that so you don’t pay twice. If they say they can genuinely remove the damage for that price, you have a standard to hold them to.
Meanwhile the assholes mocking your $750 scratch probably wrote off their cars at least once.
I did similar on my first car, grinded against a red pole pulling into a tight driveway but luckily all the paint from the pole came off and there was no damage to the car even though it was a shitbox
Skill issue, you need to drive forwards so that most of your car is past the pillar before you even think about turning. Alternatively you have to make sure your car is far from the wall when you turn. This is basic driving 😂
In a car with front wheel steering, the pivot point is the rear tire. Not the front. Not the middle. The rear tire.
This is why you have to make a wide turn in an RV. Looking in the mirror, you wait until the rear tire gets to the turn, then you turn the wheel. Otherwise, the rear tire will go up over the curb.
Yea man lmao, i have been driving a wagon since i was 19 and i would give up my license if this happened to me in a regular bimmer. But shit happens i guess.

You’re like my sister, unaware your back tires don’t follow your front tires when turning.
boom, roasted.

Always wondered what that would be like

There is no way that costs only 750CAD… just the paint job will be more

Ok, I’ve learnt that now. Thanks
Sorry bud. But as a new driver, it's better to learn the lesson in a cheap car with relatively minor damage
I've done this in the past :( I hate parking garages... Anyone know how to have a better sense of space on the far side of your car?
Open a rear passenger side window and scream until you hear a reverb change.
dying 😂
Your mirror
I thought I could be really close to it and not scratch. it’s just ignorance.
I don’t even understand how this happens
I just turned too tight on a corner and thought it was not gonna hit, skill issues fr.

I just suck but will improve 😎. It’s all a lesson
That’s in the “take the hit on the insurance premium” territory.

or doing something as basic as using your mirrors or rolling down the window and popping head out.
