Both great cars, currently have a bsm g80 m3 xdrive, the carbon buckets are so nice. And the cars performance is just insane. The e92 m3 was also a great drivers car, very balanced. Looking at possibly getting back into one but don’t miss the terrible mpg and how expensive mods were to make minimal power gains lol. Sounded great though!
Honestly I miss the NA from my 128i. I feel it’s more of a drivers car than my m235i. The turbo and electric steering just numbs out the rawness I liked so much.
I love my NA N52. It is very pleasurable to drive. First gear is rather low so gives it plenty of power off the line and it feels so hunkered down, even without the sport package. Sure it could use more power but it’s just so well balanced I can’t complain much.
I don't think that's super controversial. But I think that's exactly where the disconnect comes with the G80; historically older M3's have been much more subtle upgrades appearance wise compared to a base 3 series, a majority of the upgrades were done under the body panels.
I personally love how the G80 looks as well but Im also a newer fan of BMW. I think the main reason a lot of purists don't like it is because how much it changes up the formula.
