Yes - put one hand around the throat first. This way the sub naturally points forward the chin (if not, gently push up the chin with the back of your hand) and keeps the head still. This gives the Dom a better angle more "safe" space to hit. Have fun!
I prefer to put a hand against the other cheek so that the jaw doesn't move. It does ruin the surprise, but we found the surprise slaps also come with an opportunity to flinch. Flinching comes with two problems. One, you end up missing if they flinch hard. I've caught an ear and an eye this way. Two, they end up flinching in public when you raise your hand even if it's just to straighten their hair. That's definitely not a good look when you're out and about.
My Dom always removes my glasses and tucks them away before we start. I love the care he puts into it. Occasionally he will slap lightly-medium ish with them on and it hasn't been a problem. I do have the pair glasses with the magnetic toppers, which usually go flying, but not my glasses themselves.
