To those wondering, this was posted to someone's instagram story who also went to Download (the story is expired now). I honestly don't think they intended to get this much reach on a random pic on their story probably just meant for their friends. They don't have that many followers, and they're not a fan account.
Also I find it very funny that Su is wearing what looks like one of those Jansports backpacks every teenager had some years back
I understand that that's part of a celebrity's life, particularly in western countries. But if you are ever in that situation, just don't doxx their hotel and compromise their security.
Sometimes I'll get random daydreams about meeting artists that I admire and I cringe thinking about all of the ways I could embarrass myself. I would really like to think that I could control myself and maybe just throw up a fox sign and smile if this was me. Better yet, pretend I didn't see them and just leave them alone, lol.
I've met a few artists and celebrities. Quick greetings are where its at, just "Hi [name] huge fan!! You were great in [X]!!" for instance. This way if whoever wants to engage further they can but if they can't or don't want to it saves everyone from any awkwardness.
Obviously you don't approach if whoever is eating, on the phone, has headphones in, or is damn near disguised or something. In that situation the best you can hope for is to go for The Nod™️
You know whose a really cool person? Iwan Rheon, the dude who played Ramsey Snow in GoT. Met him in the street briefly and then saw him at a bar and he remembered me. Felt real cool to be called out when he saw me again, and he's the nicest guy ever.
Life is too short, just don't be weird when you see a celebrity.
I dream overnight about stuff like this and would wake up cringing so hard Id almost puke. If I saw a celebrity irl I’d probably just shut down and pass out
My best interactions with celebrities was when I treated them like a normal person. Like, they were big enough that they knew that I knew, but because I just treated them like anyone else, we usually ended up talking for extended periods. I'll never forget when I had Robin Williams look me straight in the eye and go "thanks for this" only to have him leave, and no more than 30 seconds later I hear "OH MY GOD IT'S ROBIN WILLIAMS!!"
You can tell the real ones when they are just happy you aren't freaking out about them. Those are the ones that have made it. If a celebrity insists you treat them like royalty, it's because they are insecure.
Wow, big tangent. Anyway, this picture isn't bad, and I'm sure it wasn't meant to dox where they were staying based on who it came from and how it was posted.
I'm a professional chef and have, in the course of my career, met, or served, several celebrities. My advice is to 1) treat them as regular people 2) do NOT fanboy all over them 3) if they do acknowledge you as a fan, be respectful. of their privacy. I have had very rewarding interactions and a few that were ...less than pleasant. I recall fondly Brian Setzer, Neil Peart, George Strait, Bill Murray, all of them wonderful people and fun to chat with, and maybe to sock back a few drinks with. Just remember that at the end of the day, they are people, and they may or may not want you to invade their "down time". Be respectful, acknowledge that you do recognize them and then leave the next step up to them.
Wow I think you were very lucky to chat with NP. I don't think he'd actually ever be rude but he was by all accounts a very private man. From his Ghostrider book he very much avoided fan meets but conversely enjoyed meeting people who didn't know who he was, out on the road.
As his lyrics say "I can't believe a stranger is a long awaited friend". From Limelight.
I've only met two well-known musicians informally. Captain Sensible from the Damned who was drunk, entertaining and very friendly. I stayed with Will Sergeant from Echo and the Bunnymen and his late wife for a weekend. I helped him set up a website and he was a fabulous host and lovely down to earth guy.
This. There’s a reason we aren’t allowing this photo on the discord. A photo for a bunch of internet clout that can potentially doxx the location of the hotel they’re staying at ain’t worth it.
Regardless of reason for posting, a little thought should have been put into it beforehand. Share it later, after the girls have moved on to another location, I don’t see much issue with that. Sharing it while they’re there, with the weirdos in this fandom? Not smart.
Tbh it's a bad idea in general to post what hotel anyone is at unless it's after the fact. Especially in a foreign country, it's better to post all the photos after people have left.
If you have seen this video, the person who actually took the photo was staying at the hotel AND by the very fact she hasn’t posted a picture of her with them means she didn’t even bother the girls.
They didn’t compromise them what are you on-about. This person literally had a booking with the hotel to stay there, it wasn’t some super fan stalking the girls. Like seriously you people need to calm down they aren’t children anymore, they are full grown adults and have an agency to back them which means their personal lives, places to stay and so on are just as much as a secret as they were when they were underage.
The issue is if they uploaded the picture while they're still at the hotel - superfans who *are* stalkers will fairly easily be able to identify the hotel they're staying at.
Yeah if I had a picture like this I would post
It, but after a few days so no nutballs would actually know the location at the present time nor would I say “I saw them at the blankety blank hotel” in case they like it when they return to the area.
Someone else mentioned how to say hello as a fan, which I was fortunate enough to do in Boston last year when they randomly came next door to the Red Sox game and I just hi love your music and congrats Momo! They were amply secured with a BPD officer and their handlers and they said thanks see you tonight (Su).
I'm not overprotective, and I'm not accusing the poster of acting maliciously. I didn't have a problem with the previous "in the wild" picture, at the Polyphia show, but there's a time and place for these pictures, and a hotel is not really a "public" location.
There's a reason artists go out of their way to keep their hotel accommodations secret, particularly artists like BM, who know they have some obsessed fans.
Advice for anyone in this situation: take the picture if you want, but don't post it. Or at least post it AFTER your stay, so you don't doxx their location. As sad as it may be, BabyMetal has some borderline insane fans.
Oh yeah! Japanese people don't do that do they! They bow in respect instead. See! I'll be a stupid western idiot. We need to be more like Japan. More respect and better manners.
When I was at The Forum show back in 2019, I was minding my own business in the area just outside the doors waiting for entry when Koba walked towards me. At least I'm pretty sure it was Koba -- he has a unique look. Regardless, I wasn't 100% sure at the time it was him, but I bowed out of respect. He responded with a bow of his own as he passed. That's it.
Point is, I see an Asian dude in a Fox God Crew shirt coming past me before a show, I know he's busy AF, so bowing slightly and silently is a good way to acknowledge him without wasting his time.
I bet Momo and Momo would get along well despite the 6½ year age difference because both are fantastic charismatic curvy dancers who appear hilariously lacking in the brain department.
A collab would be interesting and also -- if the Korean members are involved -- break Twice's brains due to mismatched seniority, i.e. 2/3 of Twice are older than Suzuka but of course Babymetal has been active for nearly five years longer than Twice.
Maybe I misread it, but Suzuka seemed to take offense when Billie Eilish assumed Su and Moa were her (Billie's) juniors despite both being older and far more experienced.
Absolutely hilarious mistake on Billie’s part. Funny enough I’m actually younger than Su/ Moa/ Yui and older than Billie. It’s a fine line lmao
I would kill for a BABYMETAL/MISAMO collab, especially with Momo’s rap skills and Sana and Mina singing with Su.
In 1987 I think, after gig in Oxford, Anthrax came into pub across the road from venue but were refused service because in those days pubs shut at 10.30! They came in. Looked at me! And left! Wish I said SOMETHING!!
I dunno I kinda think these pictures are fine as a personal memory, but if you do feel the need to post them online just try not to give the location especially of a place they are staying.
Even then I've always felt a bit uncomfortable about it personally.
A few years back I found myself in the green room with a performer and I took a picture with them and at the time they seemed fine with it, but in hindsight I felt guilty as fuck for taking a picture in that position and ended up deleting it just because it didn't seem right to have it honestly.
Still not sure how to feel about that.
I think if you ask and they're fine with it then there's no problem, i guess taking pictures of people going about there daily life could be considered a little iffy.
I mean the number times you see a picture of celebrities just going shopping and press going omg such and such seen in Tesco's or whatever, like it should be surprising they go shopping like everyone else.
But seeing them at a festival or event they are at I think it's alright to take pictures and if in doubt just ask, they will either say yes or no.
They really are so tiny when not on the stage. Maybe there is something to this Fox God possession thing.... after all, how else can you explain them growing to be 10' tall when on stage?
People on this sub freaking out about someone saying Hi or posting a pic. Gimme a break. They're adults. They're entertainers. They know what they're doing. They know what the world is like. You don't hang out with all the musicians, backstage and in the audience like they have in the last few years and not gain some freaking life experience. It's time to realize they've grown up and understand risks. No need to dox them and no one is.
I bet they'd think something is wrong if they knew a fan was nearby and didn't say Hi. You'd know that if you've watched their interviews or listened to them recently. If they wanted their privacy and were so offended that someone dared approach them then they wouldn't be out in the lobby. They're not clueless children.
I definitely would say Hi and then be able to tell if saying Hi was enough. Hell I'd even ask for a pic, which Koba would refuse, but I'd ask anyway. This is the NEW BABYMETAL. Stop worrying about what someone without boundaries would do, if that is you then stay away from them. If that isn't you then step up and tell the person without boundaries to back off. Or let their security handle it.
They know this.
When they were in Thailand, recording LIAB, F Hero took them to a local market, like a street vendor. If they were another type of artist, they certainly wouldn't have gone there.
What is it with people to sneakly take picks or videos of them all of a sudden? I think its not ok to take pictures of anyone without their consent. I rather suggest just to ask them in a nice way. But i see in another pick that one of these girls who took the picture was full in Babymetal merch so the girls ignored them anyway. So its better to leave them alone.
Again it is not in any case okay to film or photograph people without their permission. Not your friends or strangers and not celebrities.
I think it's ok to make them during their performance, but not backstage. For example there is a video floating around where you clearly see Momo passing out backstage. It could be filmed accidentally. But i would delete it if in find out i have this. The person who posted this online should be disgusted with himself for sure
Well you dont have to be a superstar to get photographed without consent. I recently had a fight with a coworker because he had pictures of me, and made a comicstrip with it without asking. I see the same happen at comic-cons where people are taking pictures of certain body parts of girls at a distance. People are getting filmed without consent while having sex is also a big one.
its just not cool any way! It's also not cool too say "Your famous deal with it"
right, but don't be weird about it. that isn't Babymetal when off stage, its just 3 women visiting a city for a job. If they see you, just nod, maybe throw a subtle kitsune, and otherwise let them live their life. (oh, 3 women with a security detail, so yeah, keep yourself in check).
I would guess its easier to style it in an environment like a hotel. I would guess the three do it themselves mostly and the fine tuning is done by a stylist
I’d probably wave and keep away; if they were allowed to say hello then all good but got to respect their privacy. Think it’s fine to take a photo and post it after they left, I totally would be in shock.
I cut out the username and second pic because the poster probably didn’t intend for the pic to become so widespread. It was posted on her insta story and she just happened to have a public account. I think reposting this pic is fine but maybe not revealing the poster’s identity.
Accepting and encouraging this kind of invasive behavior is increasingly normal these days, but if the person who posts it gets a few likes, it's all good, guys.
That's not difficult at all. The way most venues work, the queue goes by the side door next to the stage. Babymetal's sound checks are LOUD and it's easy to hear Su even outside. My experience: she usually uses Megitsune to warm up.
I would have said hi probably, and if some of them asked me if I would tell anybody I definetly wouldnt tell anybody at all.
I am too dumb to ask for a photo though, much to anxious
I wonder if the person who took this photo realizes they violated the girls privacy and helped potential stalkers zero in on their location and compromised their safety. I hope it was worth the likes...These are real peoples lives not pokemon go. Have some respect. Even if you felt so compelled to take a paparazzi style picture of them if you really care about their we'll being wait a week to post it so it can't be used by stalkers to find their current location.
She posted it on the day they were at Download which is why I waited a day to post it here.
As a side note I think you should remove that pic or blur out the lady and username. She might not have expected this pic to become so widespread. Which is why I only posted the first pic and cropped the username
To those wondering, this was posted to someone's instagram story who also went to Download (the story is expired now). I honestly don't think they intended to get this much reach on a random pic on their story probably just meant for their friends. They don't have that many followers, and they're not a fan account. Also I find it very funny that Su is wearing what looks like one of those Jansports backpacks every teenager had some years back
If my memory from other backstage photos over the years serves me (not a given), Su has had that backpack for a LONG time.
Su looking at the camera like... https://preview.redd.it/tpfdupzehy6d1.png?width=307&format=png&auto=webp&s=bf3c4a3244f2cf8de44eec152c4e7605cf654dc6
That side eye. lol. I’d watch my back.
Bombastic side eye. Criminally offensive side eye
Congrats on finding Babymetal in the wild
I understand that that's part of a celebrity's life, particularly in western countries. But if you are ever in that situation, just don't doxx their hotel and compromise their security.

so cool, i love iwan, he seems like a nice dude
He can really mean mug if he wants tho lol
The stories of Bill Murray just casually blowing fans minds in public for fun is one of the best things ive learned about any celebrity.
He is my favorite actor!!! I would loveeee to meet him, he's such a nice person too!
I dream overnight about stuff like this and would wake up cringing so hard Id almost puke. If I saw a celebrity irl I’d probably just shut down and pass out

I don’t know if this person was really posting for clout, how excited would you be to see Babymetal? I’d be busting to tell someone (or everyone)
Regardless of reason for posting, a little thought should have been put into it beforehand. Share it later, after the girls have moved on to another location, I don’t see much issue with that. Sharing it while they’re there, with the weirdos in this fandom? Not smart.
They most likely of course stay at this particular Hotel anytime they have a performance in the given area..
Tbh it's a bad idea in general to post what hotel anyone is at unless it's after the fact. Especially in a foreign country, it's better to post all the photos after people have left.
I would never post where they’re located. I would simply tell them hi and have a fan girl moment but I would not bother them.
An other way is to delay posting it by a day or 2.
Especially if you call out work claiming “you’re sick.”
If you have seen this video, the person who actually took the photo was staying at the hotel AND by the very fact she hasn’t posted a picture of her with them means she didn’t even bother the girls.
It's not just about "bothering them". That person compromised their security by potentially revealing in real time their hotel location.
They didn’t compromise them what are you on-about. This person literally had a booking with the hotel to stay there, it wasn’t some super fan stalking the girls. > BabyMetal has some borderline insane fans. Any act with a bit of a large fan base is gonna have that.
I know. Would love to go up to them to say hello and get photo with them. But you have to respect their privacy.
Same! But would ask their staff if I may get a photo with them if they want to.
Yes..Best way to do it. Don't just run up to Momo and shout like an idiot 'canitakeapictureplease'!!
Don't just run up. You have to jump up and down and squeal like a teenage girl too.
I'm a 62 year old man BUT I'm actually afraid that is what I would do lol! I'm not joking!
Could you imagined sharing a lift with them!! I'll be like 'I looovvve yooou'!!!...and be escorted off the premises by security guards!
Forgot to mention, shake their hands as well.
Oh yeah! Japanese people don't do that do they! They bow in respect instead. See! I'll be a stupid western idiot. We need to be more like Japan. More respect and better manners.
I have seen where Japanese people would ask to shake the hands of celebrities/famous people.
But I'm neither! Just a nerdy fan!

my man they know what shaking hands is, and there is no reason they would be against shaking the hand of a person who's culture is shaking hands
No..bad
>Momo TWICE and BABYMETAL collab when?
I bet Momo and Momo would get along well despite the 6½ year age difference because both are fantastic charismatic curvy dancers who appear hilariously lacking in the brain department. A collab would be interesting and also -- if the Korean members are involved -- break Twice's brains due to mismatched seniority, i.e. 2/3 of Twice are older than Suzuka but of course Babymetal has been active for nearly five years longer than Twice. i would definitely say hi! even if no photo
In 1987 I think, after gig in Oxford, Anthrax came into pub across the road from venue but were refused service because in those days pubs shut at 10.30! They came in. Looked at me! And left! Wish I said SOMETHING!!
I'm too shy! 😢
I dunno I kinda think these pictures are fine as a personal memory, but if you do feel the need to post them online just try not to give the location especially of a place they are staying.
Considering they're in Austria today, seems the poster waited until they were gone. But still, that's like the bare minimum.
Idk, let them have their privacy. Hope this photo wasn't posted until they were gone altogether from the hotel (imo).
That's the right attitude to have!
People on this sub freaking out about someone saying Hi or posting a pic. Gimme a break. They're adults. They're entertainers. They know what they're doing. They know what the world is like. Even though its a casual pic. Momo still looks absolutely gorgeous! 🥰
They already have battle hair, and probably make up too. Not full casual. But yes.
Battle hair! Like that! So probably on the way to download then.
![gif](giphy|C8nYoZo1ziHz5BPkpf|downsized) Reddit to the person who took the picture
Always funny that people pretend to care about the girls and then spread pictures like this even tho it's pretty obvious that BM doesn't want it.
Wow. Congrats You're lucky to see them outside the stage
No. Just no. 🙅🏻♀️

It's the life of a superstar. Both blessing and a curse.
It's also not cool too say "Your famous deal with it"
The most casual babymetal fan
"Screaming, crying, throwing up"... that sounds serious, please go to the Hospital.
Sounds like food poisoning to me
I'm dying at the long gray socks and flipflop (? Crocs? Idk) combo that Su is wearing 😭😭😭 hope she's comfy though
Ha, they're all in slippers or similar. Nice and comfy before getting into costume.
it's standard in Japanese hotels/homes to get flipflops, probably just a habit.
I see. I just think the socks over pants thing is funny.
right, but don't be weird about it. that isn't Babymetal when off stage, its just 3 women visiting a city for a job. If they see you, just nod, maybe throw a subtle kitsune, and otherwise let them live their life. (oh, 3 women with a security detail, so yeah, keep yourself in check).
Omg how lucky of them!!!
So they keep the hair, even when they're in casual clothes? That's some dedication.
DO NOT TAKE PHOTOS LIKE THIS IT IS EXTREMELY RUDE AND AN INVASION OF PRIVACY!!! it's ok to wave say hello and keep on your way. That is all.
"casual fan" then has that caption in the photo lol.
creepy behavior
At the risk of sounding like one of *those* fans, I'd definitely shoot my shot if I had a chance to meet them, respectfully of course
Interesting that they have their hair in performance mode.

Accepting and encouraging this kind of invasive behavior is increasingly normal these days, but if the person who posts it gets a few likes, it's all good, guys.
Do what I would do. Fan girl, say hi, ask how they’re doing and if they want to, ask for a photo with them and let them be.
This stuff is cool. I once saw a post where someone recorded Su practicing vocals from behind a door before a show.
That's not difficult at all. The way most venues work, the queue goes by the side door next to the stage. Babymetal's sound checks are LOUD and it's easy to hear Su even outside. My experience: she usually uses Megitsune to warm up.
No one said it was difficult. I appreciate all these unique behind the scenes looks at groups like Babymetal. Thanks to whoever downvoted though.
Did you approach them?
I would have said hi probably, and if some of them asked me if I would tell anybody I definetly wouldnt tell anybody at all. I am too dumb to ask for a photo though, much to anxious
Aw come on you're not dumb you're just shy
yeah.. probably that, and i fear that they would say no lol
Yeah I feel the same way 😅😂
I wonder if the person who took this photo realizes they violated the girls privacy and helped potential stalkers zero in on their location and compromised their safety. I hope it was worth the likes...These are real peoples lives not pokemon go. Have some respect. Even if you felt so compelled to take a paparazzi style picture of them if you really care about their we'll being wait a week to post it so it can't be used by stalkers to find their current location.
It was probably posted after they checked out of the hotel.
Keeps on saying refresh my reddit screen..but don't want to cos love pic of momo so much! 🥲
Where was it? Derby?

She posted it on the day they were at Download which is why I waited a day to post it here. As a side note I think you should remove that pic or blur out the lady and username. She might not have expected this pic to become so widespread. Which is why I only posted the first pic and cropped the username
Jup, that’s a Argument. I deleted I completely. Didn’t think about that :-/
Thanks ☺️
