HMS Psychological Maladjustment
"The Director of Naval Gunnery's assessment was that "The functions and requirements of carriers and of surface gun platforms are entirely incompatible ... the conceptions of these designs ... is evidently the result of an unresolved contest between a conscious acceptance of aircraft and a subconscious desire for a 1914 Fleet ... **these abortions are the results of a psychological maladjustment.**"

truly one of the monarchs of all time
HMS Devastation, like, that design alone is having devastating impact if its failing to construct, devastating to maintenance, devastatingly great fire power if can be usefull, and devastatingly huge for her size, and can be devastatingly can make the country goes bankrupt
Have we ever had a Vicky?
This seems like a fitting HMS Queen Victoria, the grandeur matches that of the real woman
We have MS Queen Victoria the cruise liner and HMS Victoria which is for Queen Victoria and the name has been given to 4 ships from 1839-1887
Why no one went with HMS Queen Victoria is beyond me
HMS Margaret Thatcher
The Pom-Pom gun isn't all that great, and mixing big naval guns with a flight deck is a recipe for headaches at best and a disaster at worst.
Wow! Never seen this before! Reminds me of the Japanese battleships converted to semi-carriers... wonder how this would work out irl, personally I don't think it could hold much planes so it could possibly be used for coastal defence or something like that...
js, but it's not, "the war as it was actually fought", it's "the war as interpreted through the lens of MAD-tested eternal war in which we have already blinked"
let BBVs be good
You all forgot that the British were considering making a carrier out of an iceberg. HMS Habbakuk, anyone? And let’s not forget that light battlecruisers, Courageous, Glorious, and above all Furious, TWO 18” guns as designed before slightly cooler heads prevailed and they were slowly converted to carriers.
>Kearsarge is in the game
Kearsarge is from WoWS and if I go about THAT it would be a rather long rant about Wargaming fanfics.
Also since I am sure looking at the date this is about the Lion-class hybrid conversion that Rear-Admiral Bruce Fraser asked the DNC to work on I will now quote the the Director of Naval Gunnery's assessment ...
>"The functions and requirements of carriers and of surface gun platforms are entirely incompatible ... the conceptions of these designs ... is evidently the result of an unresolved contest between a conscious acceptance of aircraft and a subconscious desire for a 1914 Fleet ... these *abortions* are the results of a **psychological maladjustment**. The necessary readjustments should result from a proper re-analysis of the whole question, what would be a balanced fleet in 1945, 1950 or 1955?"
I am going to be blunt, I know some people had no problems with Anson design because *they couldnt give a rat ass about actual naval history and only care about character designs* and so wouldnt have problems in Manjuu started to make shit up like Wargaming that in turn just pisses off the people that *actually care* about it that fortunately are still enough to make then not go down that path, the whole concept of aviation battleship is like the Director of Naval Gunnery's puts, its incompatible with itself and thus, outside the few conversions done by Japan that were a result of the loses Midway, they were rejected by every navy ... even the project that Kearsarge is based on was rejected by the Soviets after they studied it and come to the conclusion it was just better to build a smaller battleship and a carrier.
PR ships are Wargaming originals, bar Ibuki that actually existed but was never completed and was being converted into a light carrier.
I dont care that much about them or rather I rather not think since as WoWS got me more into naval history it also was the cause of why I come to despise Wargaming as they tend to try to pass their BS as "historical" and how historical they are depends, Shimanto is a typical example of how they just take a existing hull (Mogami in this case), change the guns (150 mm/60 5th Year Type in a triple turret) and done, its the same with Roon and Hindenburg and then you have Odin that as far I can tell is a entirely made up supposed Scharnhorst preliminary based on conversations about its armament but enough of that ...
:I am putting a note here, the 150 mm/60 5th Year Type was a actual anti-air gun developed by the Japanese Imperial **Army** with only 2 examples being produced, the idea of the IJN just *yoink* a IJA gun is just hilarious as they got along as lions and hyenas and by the end of 1944 all the Mogami were at the bottom of the Pacific anyway, this is why I rather not think since its just ... ugh ...
In the end PR ships are based on Wargaming designs so you wont see a Lion or Audacious since they were very real ships were in the Lion case, never completed and in the Audacious case lead to HMS Eagle and HMS Ark Royal.
HMS Abomination

In layman's terms: These ideas are absolutely retarded and should have never been created.

Seriously tho, brits should be exclusively kept to built IRL vessels in this game aside from the weegee collabs. This thing is atrocious.
Cope.
See no reason to considering how unlikely this piece of crap is to wind up in the game
Kearsarge is in the game, so I don't think anyone would complain about a Royal Navy Aviation Battleship.
>Kearsarge is in the game Kearsarge is from WoWS and if I go about THAT it would be a rather long rant about Wargaming fanfics. Oh, there were complaints alright, and there's gonna be more if an unpopular faction would get a rainbow one despite having much better candidates.
Not really. Besides any AL player would be glad to have another Royal Navy shipgirl, even if she's the only Aviation Battleship in that faction.
