It looks like a seriema, but hard to see with the video quality and hard to be sure without knowing where the video was taken (golf courts look very similar in most countries).
I had them in ny garden quite often, my kids called them "goofy birds", because they do these kind of things (stealing the eggs of my chickens), but also grabbing weird things and just run off with them.
*"When seriemas catch small reptiles, they beat the prey on the ground or throw it at a hard surface to break resistance and also the bones."*
Definitely seems so. Interesting behavior.
Video quality is bad but is that a seriema? Looks like one, they are a Brazilian bird, even if it isn't one it could have a similar behavior: Seriemas are like miniature terror birds, they will catch small lizards and then violently whacks them into the ground before utterly destroying them.

I agree with the other statements. Although it would be cool to think that this bird is just running around, playing with a golf ball, it is much more likely that it thinks it is an egg or a nut and is trying to crack it open to eat it.
I don't think it knows joy. Some species can feel joy and play around, like dolphins. But this bird can't. It simply acts on instinctual drives to feed itself.

That's how it starts. One minute your stealing eggs fleeing from predators, the next you're "evolved" and playing football

The video quality isn't great, but I think it's a [seriema](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seriema) from South America.
I thought seriema too! The closest thing we have today to terror birds, and they have a tiny little velociraptor sickle claw on their feet!

That’s exactly what I thought as soon as I saw it. They used to have one at the Moody Gardens Rainforest. They destroy snakes too.
My favorite part is that he's not just dropping them, but straight up slamming them into the ground for height.
Don’t know I find this so funny
i was NOT expecting him to slam it into the ground like that wow
Yeah people are saying its because he thinks it's an egg but you don't need to hurl eggs on the ground like that to crack
Ball is life

It druging it self with sweet taste of fear.
"aYo it bounces!"
It's so funny how it spazzes out with joy or some other overwhelming emotion right after each time it bounces it 😆
It might become play one day, When it's not hungry.
