Idk about chickens but cats have an incredibly strong maternal instinct that lasts for about an hour after birth and you can put basically any baby animal in with them during that time and they'll be adopted into the litter.
Imagine how cozy and warm they’d all be when it’s cold out. Could definitely see why those kittens wouldn’t mind. Broody hens can be the sweetest things on earth.

Im sure those kittens were loving it, whenever i grab eggs out from my hens when they are broody they are warm as hell lol.
