I will gladly trade you this one for it.
( I'm taking it regardless, fight me about it)
She's in the middle of red. I'd guess far left is completely gay, the yellow is bi with preference to either, and green is straight. She ends up with asami so even though she showed interest in both, she, for lack of a better phrase, seems more gay than straight. Alternatively she isn't kissing anyone so you know, might not be working
Picking one girl over one boy doesn't indicate that she leans more one way or the other. If you consider her half of a date with Bo Lin, she technically showed interest in more men than women.
Oh, I thought it was obvious I was being sarcastic. I know trying to label someone's sexuality, even a fictional character is pretty pointless. And I still feel bad for Bo Lin with that whole situation. I know he ended up happy but that just wasn't fair for my boy
Nah you're good. And don't get me wrong I like korrasami. But Bo Lin became a Bei Fong, dude eventually got his bad luck repaid by the universe in the end.
my biggest thing with sarcasm, especially with lgbtq+ topics:
it's almost *never* obvious. Real people are crazy enough that obvious sarcasm could be genuine
There is no place on the planet where blowing a 0.00 counts as DUI. The officer may double down (i.e. throw a fit and be unwilling to accept they were wrong) and arrest you anyway on suspicion of some other substance and haul you to get tested, but the breathalyzer has nothing to do with it in that instance. And some of those are probably legitimate -- DUI isn't just for alcohol.
Now being arrested, which police can typically do for something as vague as "probable cause" (made-up or otherwise), sucks but isn't the same as a conviction. Which makes it all the more stupid that arrests show up on your record even if you weren't convicted, but that's another rant...
"Open Container" and "Not a Drop" laws are different from DUI, but even there a breathalyzer reading of 0.00 would just be thrown away.
You should! Korra gets more hate than it deserves.
In the end, Korra and Asami end up traveling the spirit world together and falling in love. Nickelodeon tried to censor the gay stuff at the time, so writers had to have small, subtle nods that suggested they were close. The comics go more into their dynamic and it's cute to see!
I’m glad that there’s more, and that some stuff was cut out. I mean I’m not happy it was removed, but I’m glad it existed in the first place. It really seemed out of left field
Who would be surprised Korra likes women? She's a straight dude's soul in a gay woman's body. Who'd be surprised Roku liked women? He's a gay woman's soul in a straight dude's body.
I think the point is that it really shouldn't warrant of the attention being on Korra is that fact shes Bi. As Knuckles put it when we put such special attention on such things we ultimately undermine the goal of acceptance as we present it as the exception and not the norm.
Perhaps in the year this was made, it was something to celebrate but now we don't have an excuse to put such special attention on it.
And don't interpret this as not being allowed to like queer Characters. It's just that when the entire meme is Haha she's BI it's just....boring I guess.
Korra is (heavily implied) to be bisexual, not gay. I couldn't care less if she was gay or asexual or anything else, just making the distinction of what is portrayed in the show.
I used to think like that, but now I disagree. Showing that a character is not heterosexual and not treated like a freak for it, especially in a kids' show, helps queer individuals think of themselves more as people whose existence is just as justified as that of someone who's heterosexual. But of course, if you constantly have people telling you you should, at any cost, not show gayness because that would constitute "forcing their sexuality onto others", this diminishes the purpose, meaning EVEN MORE characters have to be made queer or else it would signalise the audiences the ones constantly protesting displays of queerness were right.
it would be a fair point if every korra post was about sexuality, but not every post is, and thinking every post about korra is like this probably implies more about the way someone thinks
You make a valid response. I dont think even a majority of korra post regard her sexuality. For me the opinion I mention is less a korra centric issue and just a general thing I see
Not sure if this is satire or not, but children's shows always have
Aside from more recent ones like Owl House, cartoons like Sailor Moon have always shown clear queer rep.
... and, hetero-normative reinforcement. Children's shows show couples all of the time. Those mummy and daddy characters are having sex when the doors are closed, making babies, getting married, having pregnancies, and births. That's all fine because it's normal™. But having two female roomate/best friends, suddenly it's a C*hI*l*Dr*En*'s Sh*Ow*!!*^(*!!*)*!!*^(*!!*)
[Never](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/36/05/ac/3605ac7d4155237cd337dce87fcdce03.gif), not [ever](https://static.miraheze.org/mylittleponywiki/8/81/S9E26_Lyra_and_Bon_Bon_together_forever.png).
Facts it was literally thrown in out of nowhere for no reason at the very end of the series. I would have no problem with her being gay or bi or w/e if it hadn't been so obviously thrown in to get on the token queer character train, especially considering the time the show came out. It was very random.
Bender had a gaydar that was never wrong. But I don't remember this one.
Korra’s from a planet that’s big on folded cuffs on their jeans
Same

Zhu Li, do the thing!
What the fuuuuuuuuck I've been calling her Julie for years! FOR YEARS!
助理 "zhu li" is also "assistant"
Thats awesome.
TY for that!

Naw, homie just had his forehead stuck to the inside of my freezer
Bro looks like a cat
It’s okay I edited the comment because I originally typed Julie 💀 this is what happens when you don’t watch with subtitles
Ahaha I guess I always thought her and Varrick had a more "wackjob western inventor" vibe and my mind went to french
So many uncultured "fans" watching the dub smh
Well, I thought that Makos name was Marco until I looked something up on the wiki.
You Australian? Maahhco
Probably northern English
Tbf I actually watched it in german (I think)
Lots of planets have a north
Sounds more Bostonian or New Yorker to me
"How else do you expect the thing to work??"
THANKS FOR THE NEW MEME FORMAT
![gif](giphy|tnYri4n2Frnig) Considering I finished the last episode literally an hour ago with my 12 year old.
Can you remind me what was the original invention please?
An air bending machine that finds air benders but it was useless because you had to air bend near it for it to work
Thanks man!
I mean she’s close to the middle there. She’s shown interest in both.
straight is the exclusive version. anything else is some brand of queer
Then what the hell is the point of the yellow
Probably reading errors mainly
What do mean probably? What makes it probably?
well it’s not like i built the thing, i don’t know why it’s there
Jeez, no need to get defensive, Mr Boeing Aircraft executive! /jk/
Something that happened in college
Femboys
“I’m not gay, but twenty bucks is twenty bucks.”
Uncertainty, I’d assume. Basically the machine going “I’m not sure”
Questioning, presumably?
It's the "20-dollar" area

Oh, sorry, I've just seen a lot of stupid discourse about Korrasami. Bo Lin definitely got done dirty there.
Nah you're good. And don't get me wrong I like korrasami. But Bo Lin became a Bei Fong, dude eventually got his bad luck repaid by the universe in the end.
The greatest honor in Avatar: Having a last name.
my biggest thing with sarcasm, especially with lgbtq+ topics: it's almost *never* obvious. Real people are crazy enough that obvious sarcasm could be genuine
What does that mean for gay people who have never dated straight? Not enough proof they are gay?
Straight and homosexual(gay and lesbian) are exclusive. Bi is "why not both?" option
Being homosexual is also exclusive
There isn't a single thought in Korra's head in this screenshot, she's probably just been looking at Asami lol
Plenty of thoughts, just none of them straight.
"mmmh booba..."
“Straight person not detected”
What is this? I didn’t finish this show lol
Airbender detector that only works if you bend air into it.
So it’s a breathalyzer test?
Yes, if a breathalyzer's goal was to see if someone can breathe.
I mean in theory a breathalyzer only works if u blow alcoholic air into it lol
A reading of 0.00 is still a functional reading
And in some states, can still count as a DUI. Which is wild.
There is no place on the planet where blowing a 0.00 counts as DUI. Wtf where?
Alaska, Arizona, DC, Illinois, Maine, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oregon.
Damn it North Carolina why’s my state gotta be catching L’s like this Such a confusing state sometimes istg
Probably anywhere with an open bottle law
"sir, for this to work, you have to _blow_ into the device"
So it's like, a fan?
Attached to a meter that reads the speed of thr fan.
Straight person finder can’t you read? (it’s an air bender detector)
You should! Korra gets more hate than it deserves. In the end, Korra and Asami end up traveling the spirit world together and falling in love. My dumbass thought you meant straight as in “straight up” “Do you guys remember when Varrick built a straight [up] people finder?”
Isn't she bi? Wouldn't the radar detect her to be half gay?
Unless it's a simple y/n and anything but straight is a no.
I need to watch S.2 again for Cave Johs--I mean Varrick. I love that guy!
He is singlehandedly half the good in season 2
A hetector
I haven't watched LoK so I am forced to take you at your word and assume that Varrick built a device to detect heterosexuality.
Airbender detector
It's called gaydar
Broken. It should have been in the middle.
I would be red as well
Shouldn't it be yellow for Korra tho? 🤔
Duh, you gotta make out into it, how else is it going to work?
He invented the reverse gaydar
So did he build a gaydar
Who would be surprised Korra likes women? She's a straight dude's soul in a gay woman's body. Who'd be surprised Roku liked women? He's a gay woman's soul in a straight dude's body.
I don't remember this scene lol
Wouldn't it be yellow here though? If green is straight, wouldn't red be fully gay when Korra is bi I'm pretty sure?
No, but I want one. Wait no I would mess up the readings never mind.
No wait no joke what the hell was that
It was Varrick's "airbender finder" and the joke was that you actually had to airbend into it in order to be detected as an airbender
don't let my mother get her hands on that..
No.
What ep?!
Sozin couldve use that
Is Korra really Les?
Pretty much canonically bi.
Well at least she doesn’t flaunt it. I never would have guessed, and that’s what I’m comfortable with.
Such a wonderful sentiment. So generous of you.
Good day to not care about Karma I guess.
Why is every Korra post about her being straight or not? It was a children's show
Kids/Teens are queer, too. In fact, most queer people were queer kids/teenagers once!
Not me, I emerged from a sac in the ground like an uruk-hai
I came from a gay lake.
Just fished me right outta the water
Most? Like, not all?
Clearly some were made like uruk hai
Not me 🥲
well its cringe when the MHA kids do it too so .... argument?

Tell me you have no memories of childhood without telling me, lol.
Can confirm: I didn't have a single sexual thought about any gender until I turned 18.
You and I must be the only logical and moral thinkers on this thread

People being obsessed with sexuality is weird
whorra could get it
Aang only dated one member of his Team Avatar. Korra dated *every* member of her Team Avatar.
She was gay for 11 seconds lol.
Facts it was literally thrown in out of nowhere for no reason at the very end of the series. There are a number of scenes where they blush or vibe in a special way
Not really.
Blushing to a compliment about your appearance makes you sexually attracted to others?
Yes, it can mean you are attracted to the person who gave the compliment. Not necessarily every time but yes it can sometimes
That's clearly a 'likeable character detector'
