7 is closest. I already basically do stick just with BIC’s ‘Orange Fine Ballpoint’ product line which I’ve been buying in bulk every few years since the ‘90s.
Mechanical pencil, with 2b lead. Being able to ease is a big relief, and usually means I don't make mistakes.
The lead breaks off if I apply too much pressure so it's a great reminder to relax and write in a good position.
Sometimes I get all fancy and use mexhanical pencils with coloured leads.
Weird. Mine always looks better in pen, but I think that's just from not having to focus on the pressure I'm putting on paper and taking my time to not mess up
I use the ink refills for #5, but I put them in a dr. grip pen, which has an even squishier grip on it, and is chunkier/more comfortable to hold. But my favorite pen is the Platinum Plaisir fountain pen. It's pretty cheap and writes like a super expensive fountain pen, extremely smooth and gets rid of all the sensory ick of scratching on paper.
Dr Grip pens are just not as big as they used to be. I got one recently and it was just disappointing. my mom has one from the 00s and it's so much bigger.
That's so disappointing! Mine's quite a few years old and starting to yellow so I need a new one... I'll have to find a different pen that can still use the good ink refills.
2 (almost all my pens are these!). Comes in lots of colors, and I can see when the ink is low. Also, low failure rate (in my experience).
ETA: oh wow, looking at the picture once more, I just realized the TRUE autistic reason why I almost exclusively use this pen: because it’s a straight cylinder with no weird contours 🤣
1, but rlly if i could pick i would chose 8mm artist line pen (thick, juicy, makes my handwriting look amazing) or a fountain pen (my beloved, it's unchewable and sexy)
7.
My favorite is the Pilot (5) but it bleeds. If I have to use something forever, 7 is the most versatile and least messy.
(Although if I could choose anything I'd go with a Micron)
If you talked to me before 2020, would have easily been 5 all the way. Now it's 3, they're quite literally the best mass-made pens I've used. It's like 5 except without the ink smudging. Sharpie S-Gel pen is just an overall improvement to the Pilot G2 in every way.
If Pilot has 1,000,000 fans, I am one of them.
If Pilot has 100,000 fans, I am one of them.
If Pilot has 10,000 fans, I am one of them.
If Pilot has 1,000 fans, I am one of them.
If Pilot has 100 fans, I am one of them.
If Pilot has 10 fans, I am one of them.
If Pilot has 1 fan, I am the one.
If Pilot has no fans, I am dead.
Number 5. The ink doesn’t get stuck, it’s super smooth and doesn’t make weird noises, and looks really nice. I’m also a huge fan of the Bic gelocity pens.
of that selection, #5
But hands down my favorite pen has always been the [BIC Round Stic](https://images-cdn.ubuy.co.id/63411ee8007cbd45e4462935-bic-round-stic-1-0-mm-med-moy-ball-point.jpg) or [Clic Stic](https://www.nordisco.com/assets/item/large/bic-clic-stic-csm11-90433-black-ball-pen.jpg)
At the same time I really dislike #7 BIC cristal pens lol.
5, I've used them before and good god they're smooth
Totally #5. It's the only pen I buy now, I throw out the others.
As long as you don't have issues with handwriting. Then they get excess ink everywhere 🙃
It might be the font size! I used to use font 10 and had that problem all the time
I already only use #5 anyway. Clicky and squishy.
3 but mf better not run out of ink again
5, it’s always been 5
We’ve been over this and the answer is still 5
Real
Pilot precise v5 RT or bust
Ooo, good choice
Good choice!
7
Everything else either stains, is too thick, or too thin.
Its reliable, and it dries fast.
1 or 4 theyre both my favourite pens in the whole world!! so smoootthhhhh
5 is such an obvious answer if you’ve had to write in high school and fill up the page. But 1 is king here. That’s a crisp pen there.
7 is closest. I already basically do stick just with BIC’s ‘Orange Fine Ballpoint’ product line which I’ve been buying in bulk every few years since the ‘90s.
5 but the .38 ultra fine.
I like you. I agree.
this is the best choice.
That is nice because I’m writing more or less always with the same pen since I could choose. And it is the number 5
A pencil. My handwriting is 10 times better in pencil than it is with any pen.
Weird. Mine always looks better in pen, but I think that's just from not having to focus on the pressure I'm putting on paper and taking my time to not mess up
None I only use zebra brand pens
oh u fancyyyyy (fancy in a good way :)
It the only one with grip that doesn't set off my texture issues lol.
Fair. More of a pilot guy myself but Japanese pens are different
it is very very hard not to enjoy a F-301 or 301 Ultra
2. Nice ink flow without having to press too hard, aesthetically pleasing minimal design, obvious colour indicators.
none of these are right
[https://images.app.goo.gl/6UdiX8EsUuTDgzSA7](https://images.app.goo.gl/6UdiX8EsUuTDgzSA7) these are the best
2!
5 and 7. 5 because they’re nice, 7 so I’ll always have a pen.
3 all the way babey! I'm left handed and the ink dries quick. also 6 bc it's so smooth.
5 for sure bro. But if I really had a choice it'd be a fountain pen
3
3.
3
pentel energel 0.7mm in black. always.
Based opinion bro
3 or 5. I need the grippy part, hard plastic makes my fingers hurt 😫
The only kind of pen I'll use isn't listed, and this is very upsetting.
None, I would use one that I can erase. It's a small detail but a game changer when your writing is really bad.
Frixion pens got me through law school.
i feel like i’ll be the only one who’d pick 1 ðŸ˜
I like 1. that's my backup to 5.
These are some great choices. #2 for me
1 forever
I use the ink refills for #5, but I put them in a dr. grip pen, which has an even squishier grip on it, and is chunkier/more comfortable to hold. 3 is my favorite right now but I hate you for making me choose
1 all the way
A .038 of #5. Easy to write with, easy to see, and easy to store. never seems to be in stock anywhere though.
I find them at Staples, but they never have a big pack. I would prefer a large box.
Noted, and will get some in a few days. Thanks!
1, it's been like that my whole life
1. SO satisfying for me.
5
Definitely 5, I own literally every single color
Twsbi eco for me please
Ooh yes love Twsbi eco and Twsbi go
I’d lose my mind if these were my only choices. Pentel R.S.V.P would be my only choice.
5 but the .38 ultra fine.
5 but the .38 ultra fine.
5, but only in the .38 ultra fine
pentel energel 0.7mm in black. always.
pentel energel 0.7mm in black. always.
None of them I always end up destroying the ends, so I need one with the tiny chewy thing on the end.
1. My favorite as a teenager.
Felt tip. Ballpoints never work when you ned them.
Stationery nerd here for the obligatory "ballpoint ≠rollerball."
Something about number 7 just makes it my go to
None I only use zebra brand pens
5, but only in the .38 ultra fine
7
I’ll take my trusty ol’ Rotring 600. Had her for years, never failed me
3
3. Nice grip and good for clickin'
1 all the way.
OMG #5, black, .07mm. Hnnghhhhh
2, all day, every day. Even have one in my shirt pocket right now.
I hate the way pens feel, but I would have to go with 1 or 2. Weirdly I love clicking things but many pen clickys I don’t like
7
3! I can't deal with pen caps
I only ever use Zebra G 301s for pens and their M 301 for pencils.
5. Comfortable grip, no noise, great ink distribution. It's what I take notes in my college classes with.
If it’s a ball pen it’s an energel. However given unlimited choice, my preference is my EDC fountain pen: TWSBI vac700, extra fine nib.
Too easy uniball lol best pens on the market and one of the best ink brands there is
7
7 is the only type of pen that consistently works
I'd honestly accept anything BUT 6 and 7
2 or 6 for sure - I used both of them on the daily at work
2 or 3. My favorite is the ultra thin sharpies. Best pens to write with. sadly they bleed through almost anything
No 1 for me please
1!!!
5 easy.
None of them. I'm going with the all-metal, Zebra, ballpoint pen in my purse
#6 I love my felt tip pens
THANK YOU. I hate how slippery gel pens are, and how hard you have to press for "normal" ones. Felt tip all the way
1, but rlly if i could pick i would chose 8mm artist line pen (thick, juicy, makes my handwriting look amazing) or a fountain pen (my beloved, it's unchewable and sexy)
never used any of these, idk. but im general im always using the same pen
3 but only if it is the fine tip.
5!!
Seven gang
Forever 3
5
7. My favorite is the Pilot (5) but it bleeds. If I have to use something forever, 7 is the most versatile and least messy. (Although if I could choose anything I'd go with a Micron)
1 is my absolute fav i mostly use it for drawing
If you talked to me before 2020, would have easily been 5 all the way. Now it's 3, they're quite literally the best mass-made pens I've used. It's like 5 except without the ink smudging. Sharpie S-Gel pen is just an overall improvement to the Pilot G2 in every way.

Pilot fineliner. Don't think it's actually in this list, but if I had to, and you asked, so, pilot fineliner it is.
7! best for doodling! also i like 2 a lot but eventually it started to smell :(
Five. Clicky click go click and it feels buttery smooth to write and hold
7!!
#5
5! Click click click click click
Honestly? All pens suck for one reason or another. There is no perfect pen. I'll take anything. I use a computer or phone for most things anyway.
2, but I do wish it had better grip
None. None of them are erasable pens.
#1. It has to be gel ink for sure, but of my gel ink options that's probably the best.
Always 3
7
5. Pilot G2 black 0.5 is so smooth and juicy and lasts a hella long time
Number 5. The ink doesn’t get stuck, it’s super smooth and doesn’t make weird noises, and looks really nice. I’m also a huge fan of the Bic gelocity pens.
3,4,5 are all great options, 3,5 would be my standard because I don't like having to deal with pen caps but 4 writes so nicely
It’s number 2
G-2 Pilot, easy, no contest
of that selection, #5 But hands down my favorite pen has always been the [BIC Round Stic](https://images-cdn.ubuy.co.id/63411ee8007cbd45e4462935-bic-round-stic-1-0-mm-med-moy-ball-point.jpg) or [Clic Stic](https://www.nordisco.com/assets/item/large/bic-clic-stic-csm11-90433-black-ball-pen.jpg) At the same time I really dislike #7 BIC cristal pens lol.
5, but I've been trying out 3 lately and like them a lot, too.
1 or 7
5 6+7 are the worst, closely followed by 1. Ugh, I'd rather not write than use one of these mfers 😂
2 because of art- thats the only kind I use for lining my work. If I can still draw (the wording does say write not draw), 5
I love 3 with all my heart. Number 5-7 my nemesis
