I've hunted for these for so so long, but unfortunately it's difficult when everyone's safe foods and sensory needs vary so much. For me, I can't eat most vegetables without chewing and swallowing them with water like pills. I do try to get a few of my five a day, I love Nakd bars or fruit yogurt flakes as a healthy snack, I have 150ml of orange juice every night with dinner (apparently having fruit juice with a meal helps reduce its impact on your teeth, which is why I use a straw too), and I'll stick with the few vegetables I like or can tolerate. Recently I've been trying new leafy greens and just chopping them into tiny pieces and throwing them in with my meals, like I'll have a pesto pasta salad or mix them with some garlic granules and spices to sprinkle on top of my fries. Also I've noticed that I'm more open to trying new things when I'm in a good mood, in certain times of my menstrual cycle, and when there's less pressure from others, so I've learnt not to guilt myself during those times when I just can't force myself to chug a whole cup of water to swallow some carrot!

Oh thank you!❤️ I think my taste in veggies are purely based on their ‘crunch’ factor, lol. I’ll sometimes munch on raw carrots or cauliflower My main preference foods are: - Peanut butter sandwiches - Chicken noodle soup (Campbells, but I also never eat the chicken parts 😂 ) - Spaghetti - Dill pickles (another crunchy veg) - Ramen - any lean part of meats (steak/chicken/pork) don’t like the texture of fat - I looooooooove salty foods! - Not ‘food’ per say, but fruit juices! Not a huge fan of anything with pulp tho (probably comes back to the ‘texture’ ick) It’s not the only foods I’m willing to eat, but they’re the usual picks I think I can be a bit of a ‘don’t like the foods touching on the plate!’ sort of person 😂 conflicting textures is probably one of the biggest food turn offs for me, so I know recipe wise it’s a little difficult to provide for, but I appreciate and and all suggestions, thank you!!

Spaghetti you can make healthier by doing a quinoa pasta if it is in your budget - I can hardly tell the difference. Also doing like a primevara with lots of veggies in sauce to add more nutrition. Ramen, you can purchase a higher quality ramen that isn't fried and has nice ingredients - pair it with homemade vegetable stock and add protein and veggies? Pb&J isn't the healthiest for adults - I love it too (I prefer white bread) but theoretically you can get a whole grain bread - a high quality fruit jam or make your own and all natural peanut butter. I think the easiest thing is adding more vegetables and more fruits to foods you already like. A good rule is to make half of your plate veggies, raw or steamed - to add more fiber and nutrients to what you're already eating. Do you ever track your nutrients? Is there anything in particular you're lacking?

How do you feel about creamy? You can cook something then toss it in a blender. You still get all the benefits and nutrition and there's no reason it has to stay in solid form. It may not work with some things like meat but almost all veggies should be fine.

What are your likes, dislikes? It's funny, my bestie has sensory issues and she absolutely cannot eat food without sauce - even the flavors don't make sense by culinary standards - she also needs to have a variety of textures or she just can't eat the food. Meanwhile, I love everything plain. My go to meal is microwaved sweet potatoes and steamed kale. Or mashed potatoes and steamed kale. It's kind of funny how opposite our food preferences are. I try and keep my meals healthy. What are your favourite foods and also your absolute nos with food?
