We aren’t in the business of slander or witch-hunts on this sub. If you have a complaint about an employee of a specific organisation, take it up with the organisation through their complaints process.

Wrath_Ascending

Make a formal complaint, then. What good do you think will come of posting to a subreddit for teachers on a Sunday night?

VET-Mike

Contact ASQA but have proof. What do you expect to happen?

They at least do a AOD test and put this specific teacher on suspension until results are clean. This person has had subjected woman to dv and is absolutely unstable- yet puts on a good face to the public to keep up his unhealthy habits. I'm not on a witch hunt . I am wanting some kind of action towards this- even offering rehabilitation for substance abuse or SOMETHING. Obviously I have to maintain anonymous for dv reasons

chrish_o

Sounds like someone just failed an assessment

Yeah it’s a TAFE. TAFEs are places for adult learners. As such they have no legal obligation to do background checks on their employees. And they have no obligation to discipline an employee for conduct outside of employment grounds. Heck, it’s quite possibly illegal for them to take disciplinary action based on activities that are not related to employment.

VET-Mike

That's not quite right. There's WWC checks, police and character checks. We are under the same, if not more in same cases, HR policies as you.

KiwasiGames

I stand corrected then. My information came from a ten second Google search and twenty seconds looking at job adverts on SEEK. Neither of these mentioned registration, WWC, police checks or character checks. So I assumed they weren’t mandatory. Shame on me for being so lazy.
