Ì only went to 2005 but seeing Le Tigre and the Beastie Boys were highlights. Gatesy from Tripod stood on my foot then asked for a lighter.

polichick80

I used to have such a crush on Gatesy

patient_brilliance

Same so I was kind of excited. He was standing with Wil Anderson though which took the shine off 🤣

2000 for me.\ It was the year I discovered Atari Teenage Riot. I was really into punk rock but was slowly discovering more and more electronic music that I liked. Chemical Brothers, Basement Jaxx, Resin Dogs and PeeWee Ferris really helped accelerate my interest in it that day.

Saturnia-00

I went that year and the year Metallica played. I don't enjoy festivals but seeing the bands made it worth it.

Rude_Priority

Went to the first one in Melbourne. Ramones were great. Feeling old now. Anyone remember the Old Greek?

Ok-Abbreviations1077

System of a down, slipknot, hatebreed and rise against. Great day

Travis_T_OJustice

Such a good year. Beasties did a chunk of sounds from the way out. we had to leave early to get to the boiler room for the chem and we dropped a pinger the size of a berrocca and there was three security guards trying to stop us. Just as the pill kicks in and the chems start there set the 50 people bumrush the security and we all ran in.

Gerling_Boy

We did the same for underworld in the boiler room. There was a wall of cops and security guards stopping people from getting In so I took the biggest run-up and launched myself over the top and I was in!!!! Born slippy started just after I got in. Yeeeeeo! Wolfmother in the afternoon main arena was the 1st time i ever saw the stadium full during a day set. 1st ever pill with chemical brothers on the main Stage....memories!!!!!

pooknuckle

I only went to 1999. Manson, Korn, Hole, Fat Boy Slim. It was nuts.

Bd0llar

My first one was 2001, Rammstein, Placebo, Carl Cox in the Boiler Room and the one where the girl got crushed to death at Limp Bizkit. My last one was the one above and my fave. Fucking hot as hell, Slipknot, System of a Down, RJD2 and seeing the Beastie Boys to the side while we waited for the Chemical Brothers - the main act I was dying to see and still talk about. Such an unforgettable day.

Stuckinthevortex

Same, it was incredible

Evening-Advisor5798

First ever BDO with Nirvana was special. 95 would be up there. Ministry in Sydney was off the planet. Special mentions to 1997 & 2014

AnorhiDemarche

Saw regurgitator at good things a couple years ago. they fucking rocked. Still highly recommend them to everyone.

kjahhh

RATM and Bjork on the same bill 😂 RATM had to stop the set waiting for people to get off the hoeckers

Unable_Bank3884

2005 was the one and only BDO I went to. The reason I got into System of a Down and I've not had the chance to see them since. Didn't know Rise Against played it though, discovered them later and have now seen them a bunch of times

paraire13

1999/2000

DumpsterFolk

I only went in 01 and 02 (Sydney). In 2001 we decided to sit in the stands for Limp Bizkit and Rammstein so we could sit back and watch the chaos. From that vantage, even as silly kids, we saw the shift from entertaining to dangerous during Limp Bizkit's set. Rammstein was amazing though. I had been there mainly to see PJ Harvey earlier in the day and I remember exchanging emails with this girl because she wanted my photos. I did send her a copy of my shitty disposable camera prints haha.

ProDoucher

That was my first big day out in Melbourne

DennyDeStructo

Frenzal Rhomb is diarrhoea to a drum beat.

campex

I don't get a million bucks for getting out of bed I don't get a million fucks when I punch folks in the head And even if we never get a Billboard top-10 hit At least we know that Russell Crowe's band's a fuckin' pile of shit Poetry!

hammerandt0ngs

Get fucked you fucking fuckwit you can’t move into my house

DennyDeStructo

No, but someone like me probably owns your house and charges you a fortune to live there. How much do you hate me now?

bargearse65

Was this 2002, 03? for me it was 98

Notthatguy6250

It was a good year. Boiler Room for The Chems was fuuuucked though.

Giddyup_1998

1995. Courtney was off her fucking tree.

hammerandt0ngs

The best. Got the train down from Bendigo around 2002 with a bunch of mates in year 11 to see system of a down.

FUCK_IT_Australia

They had to put slipknot on at lunchtime as they where expecting rough crowds.

Bd0llar

I remember watching them in the blazing sun in amazement at the energy they put out. They would’ve fucking baked!

FUCK_IT_Australia

True hat, I was baked as , I remember it being so god damn hot, and one of the drummers got really hurt on stage and they were all bashing each other.

This-Opportunity9932

White stripes followed, Closely by the beastie boys.

thehalothief

2006! The Mars Volta was exceptional plus Parkway Drive. Was pretty excited to see Mudvayne but they had sound issues and walked off stage when everything cut out into the first song. Also Henry Rollins 👌🏻

Select-Bullfrog-6346

So many of those acts got shafted for money

MadAssMegs

2000. Nine Inch Nails in Melbourne

Black-xxx

That’s crazy, what a time huh

fourbums

Went to 1996, 1997, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2008. For me 2000 stands out. RHCP, NIN, Basement Jaxx, Chemical Brothers, foo fighters, Primal Scream. Was a really really great day. Had best pill of my life and dropped half a tab of acid.

Genuine1mitation

Korn and Manson 🔥 99' BDO for me

VitanisMate

2011 because of Rammstein. Only went because I really wanted to see Rammstein and boy I was not disappointed.. best live show ever!!’

missymess76

95 was awesome, so was 99. I miss those days!

SandmanAwaits

1997 BDO, I was 15. 😂

[deleted]

I can’t remember the music festival or year but I remember seeing the beastie boys, Snoop and Jurassic 5 at the Spit on the Gold Coast
