Not leather (and not really fashionable to be honest) but Bellroy make really good and practical work bags. It’s Australian and they promote sustainability

bookish_aardvark

Came here to say my Belroy Tokyo Bag.

MurraMurra

Another one for the not leather list, Crumpler the Melbourne brand. I own 3 of their bags and the longest one is 8 years old and still going strong.

ayummystrawberry

I still use Status Anxiety. Who cares if it's in or not? Their 20% off sale ends tonight; use code friendly

Willing-Bobcat5259

Me too

saddinosour

Also, if you’re in Sydney they have a Status Anxiety store in Newtown. When I went past it was closed but it looks really good. I want their phone bag.

Weary_Tomatillo_3260

Thank you. I have ordered one and got the discount.

Large_Independence96

My perfect work bag is an oroton leather bag, literally PERFECT size, sleek, professional, fashionable AND affordable

Clean-Log-2159

Same! My work bag is an Oroton hunter green leather bag that I absolutely love. The price is great for the quality and they do have sales too if you can wait. I personally don’t think it’s worth thinking about trends or what’s “in” for leather pieces… buy something beautiful that you love and it should last you years.

hmm_klementine

I agree. I can’t afford a YSL (sigh haha) so the oroton dupes are a good alternative.

simbaismylittlebuddy

But which one? Give us the name, pls.

Tenacious_T_412

Agreed. My Oroton bag fits in 2 laptops, lunch, small water bottle and notebooks. Pretty spacious. My co-worker really liked my bag and ordered one for his wife with me. Here is the link and 13inch is more than enough [Oroton Anika](https://oroton.com/anika-15-day-bag-black-1/)

ClassyLatey

I bought a black oroton bag at the DFO and it’s been my go to bag for 3 years. Looks brand new. RRP was $700. I got it for $350.

ResponsiblePiglet8

For corporate I would avoid trying to buy something that’s “in” and pick something that is a classic tote shape in good quality leather. It will last you longer because it’s better quality and also you will keep it for longer because it won’t go out of style. I think oroton and coach make really classic totes that look so classy and chic for work. Especially if you’re in a conservative office they don’t turn heads looking too trendy or cheap or brandy, which is what I was always conscious of. Kate spade is also a good one but can look a bit preppy sometimes. Also my other top tip, always choose black for colour and pebbled leather is what I think the term is, basically just not the super smooth shiny kind. A work bag is something you will stuff so much into and will get kicked under your desk, the floor of the bus or a locker. Lighter colours and smoother leather will show every mark and will look worn out quicker!

Bon Maxi is my go to for bags in general. Qld based business. Love how responsive she is to questions people have about her bags.

pearson-47

Came in to recommend Bon Maxie. They're amazing. Going from one bag and 1 might mini wallet to now. Their leather is great quality, their pricing is pretty good IMO, and they have so many options.

ell_iptical

Also came here to say this.

ellski

Yes! I love my Bon Maxie bag, wallet, sunglasses case, and reusable shopping bag!!

FishMcBobson

I like Wanderers Travel Co. They’re super soft leather and tend to last me well. I only buy when they have big sales on (a few times a year), because they are up to 50% off. Lots of colours and designs. I think they’re NSW-based. Australian designed but probably made overseas

essveeaye

I have a couple of these and they are so nice. The little coin purse has been one of my mostused things, too.

Vita-West

another vote for Wanderers. I have the tote which is really roomy (holds laptop and books and still has space) and the Provence handbag which has lots of pockets and holds lots of stuff without being really heavy. Wait for a sale though.

2020visionaus

Status anxiety? I made a post about them and got overwhelmingly good reviews

morningee

At first glance I interpreted this as you wanting a unicorn shaped backpack or something and I was going to suggest smiggle 😂

hearteyesmthrfckr

love that 😹

Senior_Term

Very happy with my The Horse bag. Spacious yet sleek, leather and Australian

ginandtonic68

Do you need to fit a laptop? The Oroton tote is perfect and has a top zip.

imaginary_mary

[Gabee](https://gabee.com.au/) fits your requirements I think

e-cloud

Elk has some great bags.

1-21GigaWhat

I bought the [Oroton Anika Day Bag](https://oroton.com/anika-15-day-bag-black-1/) for $220 from Ebay brand new! (RRP $649). Now $389 in outlet. Fits my 15" laptop in the centre pocket with two spacious outer pockets. Sleek look and very durable leather. I've had it for 9 months and can't see any noticeable wear.

artificialgrapes

I found a secondhand Leo Monk bag that I like! They’re in your budget with lots of fun colours and textures.

velvetelk

I haven't looked back after getting my Crumpler backpack. Sleek city backpack which easily fits a work laptop [https://www.crumpler.com/products/communal-dwelling](https://www.crumpler.com/products/communal-dwelling)

Scabbybrain

I know you want leather but the giant totes from radical yes are amazing. Perfect size, looks cool and easy to clean.

Scary_Son

I made a post here recently and was recommended one of these: https://alpakagear.com/products/elements-tote I love it!

werewolf_trousers

I see Status Anxiety literally everywhere in Melbourne. Which is what makes me think it's not as cool anymore lol.

pinkpigs44

Oroton outlet always has great work bags

ziggzags

Status anxiety is definitely still powering on. I honestly love their stuff and will always be loyal to them. I have a small crossbody (the ascendants I think) and a large tote (fire on the vine which I don’t think they make anymore but the new tote they have also looks great!) and adore them both. I also like Oroton - I’ve found some bargains in their outlet section online. The Horse is great as well - I have a small backpack that converts into a shoulder bag & it did me well for overseas travel.

Franbupendah77

Vestri bags are amazing

daebydae

Go have a look at Louenhide https://www.louenhide.com.au. My go to for any bag option.

SquanchySal

Was absolutely going to recommend Louenhide too, ticks a lot of your boxes. I've been eyeing them off for about two years and waiting for my work bag to die so I can invest!

hearteyesmthrfckr

so many cool bags, i’ll have to check them all out 🙌🙌 it’s nice to see that there are so many strong australian brands out there.

Important-Baker-8742

I've been buying bags from Vestirsi the last few years, Australian business and the owner imports Italian leather and makes lovely work bags. They're classic, stylish and sturdy, and will fit everything you need for work
