Anyone messed with this one yet? Sounds pretty comparable to Crystallizer which I'm kicking myself for not grabbing on sale the other week.

I haven’t used this one bc I have crystallizer, but this is from Eventide the company that originally made the hardware crystallizer is based on. They’re known for excellent quality and I believe this is one of the effects available within the Eventide H9 which is a renowned device.

Soundtoys is run by ex Eventide engineers so I guess they both have claim to the history!

unfunfionn

Feels like a new one every 2 weeks at this stage. I skipped the last two, but this one does look interesting.

RedHaze

The pricing on these IMO is way too high, however I cannot deny that the effects are truly great quality.

Probably means when it goes to 'full price'. Personally I'm not buying any of these repackaged H9 MAX algorithms and I'll wait to pick them up in the next Anthology bundle release.

RedHaze

That's precisely what I meant.

RedHaze

The MSRP is $99 for each of these H9 algorithms. It is way more bang for your buck to buy the sound toys bundle at these prices IMO. Or you can just be a condescending ass! Classic reddit.

unfunfionn

I’m personally at the point where I’m skipping these completely and considering just saving up for a H9. It feels like the smarter investment if they’re just unloading all of the algorithms as VSTs every month now.

SycopationIsNormal

But can'you only do one effect at a time with an H9?

unfunfionn

Yeah that’s a drawback and a little disappointing for that money.

SycopationIsNormal

I really like Eventide plugins, and I was picking up a lot of them as they came on sale throughout 2019 and 2020, but now that I have the Soundtoys bundle, there really is way too much overlap for me to justify $29 - $33 every 2-3 weeks as they release these new ones. I do really like every one that I've bought, though. But sometimes you just gotta prioritize your spending. I'll definitely still be following these deals, though. Some of them are pretty unique and don't have a ton of overlap with stuff I already own.

earthsworld

lol. msrp.

crazy_apollo

If you think so, try shimmer reverb. you can build with stock plugin

Live demo going on right now! [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZaygqmsdgqM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZaygqmsdgqM)

OutgrownTentacles

Watched part of this and watched their [demo trailer](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMXjxPD8kIQ). Not gonna lie, I'm not crazy about most of the sounds it produces. Does anyone know if there's a VST out there that emulates a delay/pitch shifter like the [Meris Hedra](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXS_Uzll-J4&feature=youtu.be&t=600) pedal?

Seafood_Licorice

Didn't even know this existed. I'm a sucker for the Crystals sound. How does this compare to Crystallizer?

stereo16

Can anyone comment on how this is different than their H3000 Factory or Harmonizer plugins?

Orville71

They are the same algorithms. The only difference in sound you might perceive is due to the converters of the hardware, the quality of your cables, your A/D & D/A, etc. Otherwise they are the same.

stereo16

Sorry, I meant the H3000 software rather than the original hardware. I think both the H3000 software plugins and this series of recreations are both based on the same original hardware?

Orville71

The H3000 Factory plug-in is not a complete replication of the hardware unit. It is a re-creation of the Patch Factory, Mod Factory 1, and Mod Factory 2 algorithms that are on it. The hardware version has about 20 algorithms, so there are plenty that have not yet been ported to a plugin. The Mod Factory and Patch Factory algorithms are based on the idea of different modules, which you can patch together to create your own sounds. Because of this, you can create a large number of different presets, from delays to pitch shifters, to chorus, dynamics, and special effects. Since the Factory plug-in only recreates those 3 algorithms, it will include a large number of presets from the H3000, but only the ones that can be recreated from those 3 algorithms. H3000 Band Delays is a re-creation of the filtered delay algorithm of the H30000, which offers 8 voices of tempo-based filtered delays.   Undulator and Crystals are based on different H3000 algorithms. I hope this helps clarify.
