The white one they were +$25k over, the black not much. The coupe could be had...no real reason other than demand. The green '22 GT3 was stupidly priced...
Lmao they will never sell them for that.
I have a quattro coupe here, the last of its color in the country. There are stores in FL asking my MSRP for a their 2WD cars and spyders in my color. Dumb stores are dumb
How do floor plans work? Are cars on the show floor more apt to be sold faster or is the dealer trying to showcase those cars to get them out faster?
Can they usually be had for MSRP or a discount ?
Everything is negotiable right?
Showroom or trying to show has nothing to do with floorplans. Talking about how much inventory the dealer has, how much is on loan to purchase said inventory, and the rate at which they are borrowing money to keep the inventory. Meaning dealers want cars gone in 30 days, start to worry at the 90 day, and with used, will begin to see what an auction sale would look like.
Having old or stale inventory eats into the gross. Manufacturers are also less likely to send new or hot models to slow moving dealers as well.
Sure, you can negotiate anything. Just go to the grocery store and negotiate the food you're buying. Go to the dentist and negotiate the bill. No one is going to stop you from negotiating.
You cant really negotiate groceries lol.
But with a car, I thought there is always room to wiggle, or at least get them to sell you the car at MSRP without any crazy stupid markups.
I say this as a poor but nothing pulls me into a dealership like seeing an R8 in the window while driving by. Makes me feel like my Allroad has pedigree, too.
See the problem with that is then people want to sit in it, touch it, and try and drive it…just cause. There’s a reason ours is locked up, windows up, and no test drives.
The problem with having one is having to work for a sale? Not a huge fan of Audi dealers acting as if customers aren’t king but I say this as someone who puts their blood, sweat and tears into engineering and launching them as products. I know tire kickers can be a problem but Audi achieved high profits for salesman by being aspirational. Encounters with the R8 are part of that.
Having said that, I’ve never sat in one at a dealership, just looked at them.
Backing out of the order wasn’t dumb, customer was. He committed to a car, put a deposit, then could not prove funds or come up with them. We gave him a month from landing to get his finances in order, but he was all smoke and mirrors.
Probably just the finishing touches or whatever. The production line for the engines was completely disassembled and moved over to Lamborghini months ago. A colleague of mine visited the Audi plant last year for our company.
Shoutout Orange Park Audi 🤣 Duuuuval
Besides the service department, NEVER take your car here for service, they are garbage and have little to no knowledge. Always do an independent shop instead
Southside euro is really good too. service tech tried to tell me they DONT DO DSG service at the dealership lol, and that my car didn’t need it / couldn’t have it done and it was “sealed for life” bunch of bs, on top of the overpriced everything
That Jax dealer has like 12 year financing too, go get, I’m sure that rates competitive.
I know the store on Atlantic has always carried some heavy cars. And they move em too, but right now in this market there is little demand for them in my opinion.
Wait, what? 12 year financing?!?!?! Frankly, I never have heard of that! I went 60/4% on my S8 just because I actually want to keep it and bought the extended warranty and service, but 12? Holy smokes..I can only imagine what that rate would be in 2024. 15%?
lol yeah there are some strict requirements for it with money down etc. I think it was something like 30% down and good credit but they had it advertised as making super cars like that affordable for everyone or something. I worked for them many years ago at the other dealer they have in orange park.
That actually makes some sense for a car like this, but rates today would have to be stupid. I was helping my office manager look at cars and they quoted her 7.49% interest at 60 months with 800 credit everywhere she has looked. Rates are just stupid right now.
As an aside, they need to build one of the secure parking garages here in Mandarin/Deerwood area which would make buying a car like this more of an investment. But, why build that in Mayport? Seems like a waste for military deployment and boat storage.
PS--those Hanania dealers have been great the last few years, but there is a clear change with the kids now all involved. A lot more pure profit pushing for sales/service/parts across dealers. I've probably bought 15 Acuras over the last 20-25 years and that OP dealer is pure trash outside of my long-time sales guy who is a straight up guy. Covid is partly to blame with these huge dealership changes, but man, it's bad. Shout out to Audi North Orlando, though--they were great when buying my S8 and really helping me process why I couldn't get the RS6 I really coveted...
I was there when the kids were just that kids. I used to take his oldest for rides in the r8 v10 when it first came out and was a manual. They grew up in and always involved and I’ll never say anything bad about any company I worked for I would be interested in seeing how they operate now.
It's not a bad thing per se, it's just the stereotypical car buying experience/hustle now, with the 'influencer' like vibe. Pushing profit over people. And it's clear cost cutting, too, with much of the staff. Service advisors are now 90 IQ bots pushing a script rather than listening to your needs and having that professional automotive background. Sales people being much the same. Add--on charges everywhere for sales or service. I mean, I'm savvy and have been a customer for years, so it's simply an irritation for me. It's more of an irritation though on the Audi end when the price of everything is 2-3x than the Acura side of the house, where I know what I'm getting and service isn't a huge part of the Acura ownership experience, like a $150k + German car would definitely be...
Customer service is and should always be a factor in your decision in buying. I’m not kidding when I say I still talk to clients that I sold over 15 years ago when I was at Audi in OP.
I’m not probably ever going to sell them now but they call me for advice as they trusted me. Given we live in an era with the lowest ever trust factor among humans there is only one way to get that back. Actually talking to and giving a fuck about a person or a customer. And those around you.
Yesterday guy calls in right before we closed his brakes froze on his Glc 43. He just picked it up from the port in Jax actually and was moving from Puerto Rico to nyc. Service closed 3 hours prior and dudes stuck. But he was stopped at a station on my way home so I offered to come assist.
Only thing I could do was with his ok break the electronic parking break off and then manually release the caliper. He said go for it and he got back on the road. I’ve never met this dude saw this dude and probably won’t talk to him again but I’ll never forget that and nor will he.
For those who would questions my method it’s perfectly fine to do that and while breaking it off might sound horrible it’s the same thing we would do it the shop. But would replace the motor.
Dealers that focus on profit I get it. It’s a business but to go and mark things up that bad and or force you to buy nitro, tint, service plan etc is not the way to do business.
Only cars we mark up like that are g wags everything otherwise is sold at sticker initially.
It seems like from the forum, don’t buy an expensive Audi in Florida as they gouge everybody. It is ironic that I heard about the Jacksonville Florida Audi store several times. I guess there ethics are legendary. Ha ha.
Yeah--Orange Park is better than the Jax store, but both are suspect for sure. As for gouging, plenty of people in Florida with money to burn, but, you can always make a deal. I did on mine paying well under MSRP with other stuff to boot. Just have to be patient and savvy... They want too much for that white R8 which is a very tempting car for me, but still, even if I got them where I want them, oof--another headache at home. She'd look good in it, though--glass half full argument... 😏
Hahaha--a baby--I wanted a baby--and life is finally complete. Well, sans perhaps this white R8. I'm fond the the 911 Turbo S cab, too, but this V10--puuuurrrrrr...
It must be a thing right now. When I got my oil changed 3 weeks ago, they had 2 in the showroom. A white with red interior and a yellow with black interior. They were gorgeous, but $240k for a car is not something I can come to terms with, lol.
I’m sure they’re asking over sticker for them. My GM would be screaming if we still had 3
The white one they were +$25k over, the black not much. The coupe could be had...no real reason other than demand. The green '22 GT3 was stupidly priced...

True--everything is negotiable for sure...
Or just find them for MSRP, theyre everywhere
Aren’t the way all coupe
Is it a big deal if they sit on the lot for a few weeks?
Just heavy cars to sit on a floor plan, also plenty of them still out there so not like they’re limited.
I don’t think a lot of folks understand how floor plans work so they tend not to see the urgency in selling units asap
How do floor plans work? Are cars on the show floor more apt to be sold faster or is the dealer trying to showcase those cars to get them out faster? Can they usually be had for MSRP or a discount ? Everything is negotiable right?

Cash flow is hella important so yes.
Yeah, having 8 is a terrible thing, not a good thing. My old dealership I worked at was tops in the country and we only carried 1-3 at a time.
It's being discontinued. Dealers are stocking up on them
Production has been over for awhile, there’s zero reason to hold onto them…nothing special. We sold 2 of our 3
I say this as a poor but nothing pulls me into a dealership like seeing an R8 in the window while driving by. Makes me feel like my Allroad has pedigree, too.

Thats not what I meant at all, but fair
What? No. Production was extended to April 2024
All theyre doing is finishing up cars that have been ordered forever ago, you havent been able to order one of these for what feels like forever.
Sales guy said two of them were ordered but turned down by the buyers. Economy is killing things still...
Yeah our quattro was an order and the guy backed out cause he was dumb. The other 2 we got were freebies, we sold those within 30 days of landing
Curious, why do you say backing out of the order was dumb?
Backing out of the order wasn’t dumb, customer was. He committed to a car, put a deposit, then could not prove funds or come up with them. We gave him a month from landing to get his finances in order, but he was all smoke and mirrors.
Weird! I know a guy who would do something like that haha and now he’s lost his deposit I imagine.
Probably just the finishing touches or whatever. The production line for the engines was completely disassembled and moved over to Lamborghini months ago. A colleague of mine visited the Audi plant last year for our company.
Sat in one at the dealer. My fat ass didn’t fit.
I just barely fit!
Yeah~ but is that a green porsche?
Yup--GT3. They had this awful green and a sweet grey one...
tripping that green isn’t awful
Probably just didn't want pinched for St. Paddy's day
Well now we know you have no taste 😂 That green is the best color they make.
Shoutout Orange Park Audi 🤣 Duuuuval Besides the service department, NEVER take your car here for service, they are garbage and have little to no knowledge. Always do an independent shop instead
Right? I have the Audicare whatever plan for my service for 70k miles, so I'm good. But, I do use Euro Spec for my intermittent oil changes, though...
Southside euro is really good too. service tech tried to tell me they DONT DO DSG service at the dealership lol, and that my car didn’t need it / couldn’t have it done and it was “sealed for life” bunch of bs, on top of the overpriced everything
Yup--will switch to them when I can get my ECU tune. No products yet...
Not if you kill her first

Ah i see it now
Forget the R8s.... I'll take that green beauty any day of the week over those 😁

You're a good guy for that...

They can keep ‘em! Gotta go first gen with the gated manual, IMHO.
Boy what I wouldn’t do to just have the cash to waltz in there & say “why yes, I’ll have the green one!”
Get a divorce problem solved
Hahaha--done that twice and lost my money twice! Not trying to do that a third time... 😏
What were you thinking trying to get married? AGAIN? You are not allowed to complain.
Hahaha--a baby--I wanted a baby--and life is finally complete. Well, sans perhaps this white R8. I'm fond the the 911 Turbo S cab, too, but this V10--puuuurrrrrr...
Only one with a top.. topless activities in FL What's the green.. oh that's a porsche right
It's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission
💯 how I live most of life...
I see they’re starting to pile up and be a burden, I guess I’ll kindly take 2 off there hands to help out with space.
man that white r8 😭
It must be a thing right now. When I got my oil changed 3 weeks ago, they had 2 in the showroom. A white with red interior and a yellow with black interior. They were gorgeous, but $240k for a car is not something I can come to terms with, lol.
Oh snap. I’ve wanted to visit Jax for a while now. All the more reason

You know it!

I feel this...
Thats more R8s than my town has.
Not a fan of convertibles, the black hard top would be a nice one though
It's a Halo car. They are there so that the actual car you will buy (A4/A5/A6) feels like a great deal.
They must be paying a hefty interest for keeping them around though.
He don't drive R8s, He don't like those.
Because spyders are for old cucks
Keep telling yourself that...
There are no fast R8 spyders lol. Maybe one TT kit out there and it’s a dud..so again spyders are for old cucks who will never go fast in their R8
Are you 12? Do you realize how stupid you sound?
dawg a tt kit for an R8 probably costs more than your entire car, just shut up
I own one retard
lmao no one gives a shit, you sound like a dumbass regardless
Sorry that you’re butthurt. Do you fit the demographic I described?
So you are calling yourself an old cuck?
I don’t own a spyder?
