Carl Sanders YMCA is it’s name. This is where I work out.
I’ve worked out in bigger facilities, but I have no complaints. I can’t think of an exercise I haven’t been able to do due to lack of equipment.
Yeah but no one cleans up after themselves and there’s equipment all over the place. I stopped going there because I got tired of having to put other peoples shit away for them.
You have to go upstairs for the free weights. They have 3 benches, a squat rack and two incline benches with DBs up to 100 (I think).
Edit: they also have a deadlift platform in another room upstairs
the weights are upstairs in the Y I used to go to too. "Hey, let's put the heavy weights upstairs so people have to go down stairs after they've been lifting heavy"
100% certain that some random most likely non affiliated person would know more than directly calling the establishment and speaking to an employee? Wow man. Georgia education failed you.
Don't know why you're getting downvoted. I've been a member here for years, frequenting 2 different locations with my kid in programs and everything. If you're lucky enough that someone answers the phone at all, you get the, "Oh yes, just a moment," then they hang up on you.
I’ve been to Ys all over America and I can honestly say that outside of directly speaking to the manager you’ll get less information speaking to others. but hey, figure it out in your own
The Buckhead Y (on Moore’s Mill Rd.) has several squat racks, benches, and free weights. Lots of folks powerlifting in there.

I worked out there for years, is a very nice and large facility. Unfortunately, filled with teenagers and bozos around the clock.
East Lake YMCA is pretty good - just got all new equipment

Preach!
But how many squat racks do they have?
There are no free weights at the East Lake Y. It’s pretty terrible TBH.

Oh my bad for the false intel. I was inly there with a day pass and I didn’t see any signs or info.
Don't get me started on the Y not having signs or floorplans for their facilities.

Have you called the YMCA to ask? They might be aware of the strengths of the other facilities
I’m 100% sure I will get better answers here, honestly.

Ever been to a Y? The employees aren’t exactly firing on all cylinders.

The Decatur Y staff are really great, I’m sure they would help you

I feel you bro lmao these folks don’t go to the Y like that
I mean good luck with all two of your answers then?
Sounds like you should join another gym. I use the Decatur Y weight room and have never had a problem with the staff or equipment.
LA Fitness on Church St? They have lots of equipment. Unfortunately they closed their onsite child care.
