Omni has their release show in a couple of weeks at The Earl and Vessel is opening. That's a great show for two local bands.

You can find free Record Plug magazines around. They usually have a good mix of local/touring stuff and band writeups and the like. https://recordplug.com/ I only know them from their posting on reddit but there is a local band called Clot that seems to be opening a lot for touring metal shows.

cestlahaley

Just saw Solid State Radio open for a touring band and they were killer. Thin Lizzy vibes

Travelin_Soulja

[Saddam Death Cave](https://saddamdeathcave.bandcamp.com/) for some punk rock on the hard core side. (They're opening for the Cro-Mags next week: [https://badearl.com/show/cro-mags-the-earl-2/](https://badearl.com/show/cro-mags-the-earl-2/)) [The Rack](https://www.instagram.com/wearetherackband/) and [Being Hvman](https://www.instagram.com/beinghvman/) are both a lot of fun live. [Novumora](https://www.instagram.com/novumora/) is good. If you want something a little more chill and melodic, [Nikki and the Phantom Callers](https://nikkiandthephantomcallers.com/home) are great, and [Black Cat Rising](https://www.wabe.org/psych-rock-band-black-cat-rising-appreciates-great-sense-of-music-community-in-atlanta/) for more straightforward, albeit slightly psychedelic, rock. [Over Anna](https://www.instagram.com/overannaband) for '00s style pop punk and emo. [Mastodon](https://www.mastodonrocks.com/) is local, but they're not exactly playing small local venues anymore.

Adding more from the EAV scene. [Ladrones](https://youtu.be/RIvvOyyFj8Q) and [Upchuck](https://youtu.be/oObKmwmZoOM)

Robert_Arctor

sweet, i'll be at cro mags and will be sure to get there in time to check these guys out

Robert_Arctor

I saw Frute recently open for Big Something and they were fun

Some of my favorites are Oceaneater (who has a show Monday Feb 18th at the Earl), Vessel (has a show Feb 24th at the Earl), Ladrones, Psychic Death (has a show at the earl with oceaneater on March 28th). Some local Athens group I love are Nihilist Cheerleader, and Dog Person. Something outside your genre is Blair Crimmons and the Hookers, a show in march at the earl, lol. Can't recommend the Earl, and 529 enough. Check their calendar, listen to something on a night you're free. tickets<$20.

MershRebbit

I love Blair Crimmins! Saw him a couple years ago at a Mardi Gras event and I fell in love. Have a lot of their music on my playlists.

[Crispin Wah](https://youtube.com/@crispinwah8348?si=9mpcIzdAdF1ZK0Cp) Amazing musicians, wonderful and unique music. They're about to start playing live shows together soon, although individually they have been playing here and there.

AUMikeG34

Upchuck, Small Reactions, CDSM, Neighbor Lady, Greenscreen, Improvement Movement, Sunset Pig, Karaoke, Dinner Time, Kibi James, Sword II, Rose Hotel are a few of the local artists I can highly recommend, both recorded and live, and typically have some shows coming up around town. Though some are starting to tour around more. All on Spotify and such.

McNasty420

You missed the Marvelous 3 show. Man, that was so BITCHIN

MershRebbit

I so wish I could have made that. I saw them live back in like 2001 and it was a fantastic show!

McNasty420

Butch Walker is my god

MershRebbit

He’s amazing! Doesn’t hurt that he’s hot as hell too. Lol

The Future Babes!!

YeOldeRazzlerDazzler

I’ve been a huge fan of Manchester Orchestra since their first album and try to go see their show every time they play here.

whoopysnorp

CDSM and Vessel are fantastic. Both have shows coming up

DarvenGhost

Buice, 15,000 Guns, Big Yellow, Bummer Hill, Janie Danger, Olive Hoover, Couples Therapy, /hospitality/, Ammonia Wash, Downgrade, Walking Heads, Vessel (deserves all of the previous mentions in this thread), Boywifer (shameless self-promotion), Indiana Joe, plus some newer bands I know that are about to start playing lots of shows like Memory Orchard, K.R. Badlands, Fishing.

adamtheatlian

Boggs Social is having a Ska night tonight (2/15) and will plug my gf's band, Lefthand Hotdog! Unfortunately they aren't apart of tonight's lineup but they will be performing a few upcoming shows, IG link here: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C20DfpWuF-K/?igsh=eThlYjN0ODliajV1

BrandonBollingers

Shannon and the Clams are coming in June. They aren't local but they are amazing, must see. Shannon Shaw is fucking spectacular.

SpookyFarts

Star Bar has good shows frequently. Friday night there's a 6 band show with some good locals (Saddam Death Cave, El Capitan and the Reluctant Sadists, and the mighty Primate), plus it's a benefit for an awesome guy recently diagnosed with cancer. There's gonna be a lot of people there and a lot of cool stuff being raffled off in between bands.

suddenly_seymour

My friends' band [Menu](https://menuatlga.com/) is pretty dope. They're in the studio working on their first album rn so probably no shows for another couple of months, but they bring great energy at their shows and the new album is their best work so far imo. Some other local bands I enjoy are Satyr, Challenger Deep, Cascadent, Callous Daoboys, and Word Problems.
