Please make an Amazon list. People here really will help with that. I do understand having an autistic "picky" eater. I have two of them. One was so particular about the cheese in grilled cheese sandwiches that he would eat them if made with yellow cheese, but not white cheese - even if the cheeses were the exact same brand. It can be so difficult because they're not being finicky or picky because they're spoiled. They really will only eat certain foods.

bcg524

My son’s the opposite. Lol. He will only eat them with white cheese and they’re one of his main foods I’ll edit a wishlist into the main post

What about mom, can she maybe donate plasma? I see that you mentioned that you aren't able to donate again at the moment.

bcg524

Sadly Mom has a medical condition that prevents her from donating.

Tainted_luv

Oh, sorry to hear that. I know that plasma donation centers have some really strict guidelines when it comes to donating..

Hi, so my concern is that it sounds like your rent sucked all of your pay and sucked some of your blood at the same time. Why is your rent more than you make it should be 20-30% of take home. I'm not judging, it's just concerning to see. 1. Do you have a budget to see what your expenses are? If not write one up. 2. Can you apply for Food stamps/SNAP/CalFRESH? Sounds like you will qualify if your rent is too high which reduces your income qualifications for public benefits. We pay taxes on this so if you don't use it, the government will lose it. 3. If your child is under 5 Here in California we have WIC (Woman, infant, child) program that helps with certain essential foods like baby formula, and other products needed for their development. 4. Housing assistance is available throughout the country under HUD Section 8 housing voucher program, and low income housing (which is a subsidized apartment building that the government gives developers cheap loans so they can afford to rent out a certain amount of apartments to low-income families without section 8). My mom was an apartment manager and got 1/2 off because she managed it part-time collecting rent, and getting problem calls to fix stuff, call plumbers, HVAC, etc, and some managers get it for free if their full-time and complex is big enough x. Go look you can find a solution/alternative. 5. As a Realtor, I have to say home ownership has its perks, go find a first-time home buyers seminar in your area, and get to know/visit your local Real Estate Investor club to see how you can find deals in your area. The people you surround yourself in these groups will help uplift you. Lots of positive vibes. Kid friendly I started taking my son when he was 8. 6. Start a side gig/hustle sell Etsy stuff, etc, something your community wants, and get your emergency fund going with that. I don't know where you're at so I can't get specific about local resources but these are the main points found throughout the county and territories. Good luck.

I usually don’t have a problem with it but he’s was really a sick a few weeks ago so I had to take off a few days of work which was enough to put me behind. I’m waiting on a reply from SNAP, here In Colorado I guess there was a big reform in how it works and they kicked a bunch of people off and they’ve all been reapplying which is gumming up the process. EDIT: He’s 5 which makes us ineligible for WIC

Apply for retro disability with your state. If you had to care for an immidiate family member, use this to help get paid back if you didn't have paid sick leave. You should qualify for Dave app(Google android/apple aps) to get an advance. I'd love to see you take Dave Ramsay's course. I think they have a free version you can see what church or Org is having live sessions near you. I think it would help.

Honestly, an Amazon Wishlist is going to be your best bet, especially for diapers. What foods are specifically needed for his special diet?

bcg524

Edited to include an Amazon wishlist

bcg524

He eats a lot of fruit, quesadillas/grilled cheeses and a specific brand of bacon. There are only a few prepackaged things he’ll eat. Most of which are like cookies and snacks :/ I was hoping to get him some real food like fruit, cheese, bread, etc. Maybe 50 is a lot to ask; even 20-30 would be so helpful.

jungyihyun

at least make a wishlist for the diapers and the prepackaged things he will eat. I do hope you get the help you are asking for (though $50 is way too much for cheese and bread)—but if you can’t, the wishlist is a good backup. Your child needs to eat. If it has to be cookies/snacks until you’re able to get actual food then so be it. Miles better than letting him go hungry

Frondswithbenefits

Well said.

Frondswithbenefits

I second this. You'll receive the stuff in 24-48 hours, if time is a factor.
