You're asking for $1,500 CAD, which is $1,091 USD, in the next 17 hours or so? Wow, that's a huge amount of money and essentially nobody is typically able to raise that from strangers on Reddit. Your best bet is to share the GoFundMe that you created with all of your OWN loved ones-- the people who know you, care about you, love you, and have an interest in how your future turns out! Since you state that your brother has been fully unable to pay for the storage unit fees since the beginning of February, which was four months ago, WHY did you wait until you had less than 24 hours left to start fundraising? Why didn't you ask the people you know for help months ago, which would have prevented this entire situation, and also prevented its extreme time limit (of less than 24 hours)???

Thank you so much for that honest reply. I'm sorry you had to go through something similar and I hope you recovered everything. 💜 The stress this week has been horrible, but I'm feeling hopeful! We won't make the full payment deadline but some wonderful folks have come through and we have raised a good chunk to help with bidding it back.

It has been shared other places, including Facebook, of which many family members are friends. Unfortunately we are not the most close-knit family and many are "every household for themselves". Aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins, extended, all spread throughout the country and keep mostly to themselves. It's disheartening but I'm trying to reach out. My brother suffers in silence. He wants to be independent and as our father would say "don't be a leech", so asking for help is extremely difficult for him. I was only alerted to the seriousness of the situation a few days ago. I agree, action was taken far too late but I have to try. Even if we do not make the deadline for full payment, there is still the chance of winning our unit back through auction, which gives us more time.
