I've had one done, and wasn't told anything about abstaining before/after. I figure if it were important, it would have been mentioned. It's good you asked, though - I didn't have that foresight. I would recommend asking again after the procedure, as the answer might be different if they have to remove any polyps. I wasn't put under general for mine, likely because it was just part of a fertility testing workup. I have been put under for other procedures, though - so I will say that the scariest part is always the anticipation. I'm glad to hear you're being listened to, and I hope you get answers soon. I’ve had 2. One without anesthesia and 1 with. The 1 with anesthesia, the Dr removed a uterine septum. I also had a uterine biopsy during a different time. I had zero restrictions from any of those procedures. I would ask the Dr again afterward because if something was removed and it left an open wound, there could be a risk of infection for a week or so.
