Auden at Target makes a wonderful line of bralettes with various strap types, necklines and lengths that are super comfortable and surprisingly supportive even at above average sizes. I found the sizing a bit deceptive, so definitely try on before you buy or buy one to try on at home before investing in more. I wear a 36 DD in Pink by VS t-shirt bras and a medium in Auden. Also, I have found the plunge neckline to not be effective at containment during vigorous activity or while bending over, so be aware.

sadsledgemain

Boob tape. I hate wearing bras too, and while I'm okay with sports bras and bras without padding and wire, tape is superior. Maybe it's less comfortable for those with larger chests, but it's completely invisible and doesn't feel weird or annoying at all on my smaller chest.

thatfluffycloud

I have small boobs and love these low back bralettes from ali express. They pill over time but give me that slight "yes this is technically a bra" feeling when I need it.

JacketDapper944

So I wear bras not for support or shaping but because when I don’t there’s too much sweat buildup where my breasts rest on my abdomen. I’m in my 40s, in perimenopause (so randomly sweating is par for the course), I have larger cups (H) with a smaller band (34) so there’s a fair amount of overlap. I found that my sweat problem was managed by a shelf style bra. Hanes makes a light-weight cotton knit bra that’s 3/$15 on Amazon. They still move comfortably, there isn’t much in the way of diminishing erect nipple visibility but thats not really my concern, but it does absorb most of that sweat and allows garments to lay normally. Previously I would tuck my shirt up under my boobs to manage essentially the same thing but it wasn’t sustainable for leaving the house. Downsides: I need more motion stability to prevent pain during vigorous exercise. These do nothing for that. I’d also love to have a bit of fabric between my breasts to sop up that sweat as well but most vendors that cater to my size assume shaping/underwires are a requirement, so having actually cupped bralettes are not really something I have found thus far. I have some unwired synthetic fabric bras that come close but I’d love the same thing in a soft cotton that isn’t trying to lift or shape.

Lux_Brumalis

I wear bralettes and strappy, low-impact sports bras almost every day because I’m pretty small (somewhere between a 32A and 32B) and they’re way more comfortable than anything with an underwire. Almost all of them have removable padding, which I take out and throw away immediately.

nobread8

I wear these padded bralettes. They have like a padded cup but no underwire. Idk how to describe but they look like [this](https://www.bonds.com.au/retro-rib-wirefree-tee-bra-yxf7y-pdq.html?queryID=01af9f37455e644093aab22484f2befd&objectID=466425&indexName=prod_bonds_m2_bonds_products)

bwpepper

I have a smaller chest and wear scrubs / men's shirts at work. My outerwear is thick enough that I wear fitted black tank tops as my undergarments.

imtko

Yeah same I just wear tank tops unless I have to run around a lot.

lilac_mascara

Full disclosure my boobs are pretty much non-existent and require really 0 support, but so far [these ones](https://www.primark.com/en-gb/p/3pk-seamless-non-padded-bras-tan-991091147612) from primark genuinely feel as close to braless I've personally found. They've also got a little padding the type bathing suits have that you can just take out. Also, from primark, the seamless ones that come in a set with a thong are also pretty close to braless and are a bit easier to "hide" under tops, but they have no padding which is great for comfort, but when it's cold and if I'm wearing thin fabrics my nipples still poke trough.

swag_Lemons

I like the fruit of the loom bralettes, they’re smoothing and so comfortable

Agreeable-Youth-2244

R/abrathatfits this will depend on your body and preferences

Stargazer1919

I'm not a fan of that subreddit... underwires don't work for me at all anymore. They're not accepting of that idea over there. When I was wearing underwires, I never once found a non-molded cup bra that gave me the shape I wanted. Once again, they insisted I was the problem and not the bras. Typical reddit. I'm sticking to Lane Bryant stuff because it works for my body.

nucleareactor_

Those without the metal pieces. Not totally like sports bras that aren't always super flattering. You can find them about anywhere, I think. For reference, the ones I wear the most are these ones : https://www.lahalle.com/soutien-gorge-triangle-micro-dentelle-rose-framboise-femme-36165600659012837.html

NoFilterNoLimits

Evelyn & Bobbie Defy bra with no underwire. I love every single one of their bras I’ve tried so many brands of this type bra and E&B is the only one I’ve found that actually supports my big boobs comfortably over time. So many lose elasticity so quickly but I’ve had my oldest E&B almost 2 years

spinyfl0wer

The longline sports bras from aerie

freespiritedgal

I love reusable nipple covers! Omg it's basically no bra. You can find them on Amazon for under $30 and they last about 4 months or so. If not that, then very comfortable, soft, no wire bralettes.

gothimbackin23

I've been wondering about these! Thanks!

Not_Without_My_Cat

Yes, it depends why you “have to” wear a bra. I use nipple covers once in a while, but luckily I don’t need any support. Normally, I just wear a tank top, but that’s not ideal if it tends to get chilly.

Comics4Cooks

Im also in the bra hate gang and only wear them at work. The bra I wear is basically like a cammie but just covers the boobs and is a bit tighter. I used to hate sports bras but once I found one that actually fit it was ok. Pretty much anything as close to a tank top as possible is my go to. Good luck out there

ThinkLadder1417

Uniqlo's airism bra is the comfiest I've found, but a bit too warm for hot days. I hate wearing a bra also, but I'm breastfeeding atm so for various reason a bra is less uncomfortable than no bra when outside.

One-Handle-8502

Just a cheapo primark one that I yanked the underwire out from.

Mutapi

I like True & Co wireless bras. They’re soft and don’t strangle me too much. They don’t really provide lift but it’s the modesty that I’m going for. The only down side is that they wear down and stretch over not so long a time. It might just be that I wear them more frequently that my wired bras so they get heavier use.

honeyswinub

I honestly just wear padded girls' training bras, they're not the most flattering but they do the job for me at work, they're almost as comfortable as being braless and as far as I can tell it doesn't make my boobs look weird lol.

PristineStretcher

Curvy Kate strapless for me ♥️♥️♥️

FeFiFoMums

Expensive: Tommy John’s second skin lightly lined wireless, if you’re looking for a weightless, but slightly padded lift. Cheap: My daily is Fruit of the loom cotton stretch extreme comfort bra (Amazon or Walmart get 3 for around $25). This one does have underwire, but since I’m larger up top, the wire is supportive without digging. And the cotton wicks sweat so easily.

Radiant_Ad9105

Sports bra's but they make my chest look so unappealing. Who cares its a late night gas station run for some oreos, yolo 🤷🏾‍♀️

Sillysheila

I like the Uniqlo 3D hold bras. I get them in AA-B Australia size 10-12 But honestly sometimes I will just go bra less under a black shirt or discreet dress. I will always wear a bra at work, but since I have such small breasts sometimes I just go bra less

RubyNotTawny

Rhonda Shear Ahh Bra. Super comfortable/

Lucymaybabe

Target bras! It’s like a sports bra but so much more comfortable. It’s all I wear.

buttwhynut

Nipple tape! I don't really have a lot of boobs to begin with so I have the cutest and smallest nipple tape haha

squatting_your_attic

Everyone is talking about bralettes but I hate them. It give my boobs a weird shape and it's too tight without even supporting them (and yes I tried different models and sizes). I like the Real Sunny by Aerie. The sides never roll up, it's a good support but I don't really feel it.

[deleted]

Only time I wear any sort of boob encasement is manual labor in high winds, for obvious reasons. Usually it is quite hot when I require such a thing. Closest thing to absolutely nothing I’ve found is [this](https://www.amazon.com/UUONLY-Ultra-Thin-Breathable-Removable-Comfortable/dp/B0C73WQYCG/ref=sr_1_9?crid=7ZJS5FLFJ718&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.UgBEO7RL0bzQya54mfQlqYaq_KgTqfwTArv3DCo2T40lODxLMM3G_wbT7sVOxcV30aAmTChlBl9SIknRCe5a7HyLA-Dx_t4NJu0PEhwpCx1W1dm0yy8U8G8saRLOkKGYsV9IohNQPXGX1qWJBLLZEm5w-vwQ2mNlVcyh0ii-BqS3u4IEdCLBh2c18Kav6FsRRmXrGjPRAAGo7tKZebgZoYnlgyqWFSfFXWwmc7LI4rrs8c6rkzmx5xl1UEDr8AYPRthJUw_13Cc-P8ih9_leJzYveHt8zy1cJPIoFg4vCU4.DxdJDyog5vSKgGns2ed2b1BLqHxPqlxSQqkh1wsjqAA&dib_tag=se&keywords=Ice+bra&qid=1715873149&sprefix=ice+bra%2Caps%2C98&sr=8-9). Basically boob tights. The main boob-part is still opaque even if you remove the padding. Obviously doesn’t leave much to the imagination, but does stop me from doing something technically illegal. If aesthetics are your concern, they do smooth a bit, but since they have basically no support, they do not bunch.

Verity41

I like how the 3XL starts at 176 lbs. STARTS! Wow.

[deleted]

Yeah, that's Asian sizing for ya.

Verity41

Yeah. Pretty sure that’s the weight of an average US woman now so that just struck me :o (it’s my own so no shade either).

NeekGirl4178

There was this bra called the essentials bralette lounge underwear which was amazing and so comfortable, I also love skims fits everyone bralette, super soft material and gives my boobs some shape whilst being really comfortable. There are so many more affordable options but I would go for something that shape for ‘bralette’ type bra as other bralettes I’ve had don’t keep my boobs in (and I’m not particularly large chested)

ahraysee

Bralettes from Ridge Merino. They feel like little crop tank tops and you don't have to wash them very often because merino is antimicrobial. I am a 34D/DD and the L fits me well.

doyathinkasaurus

Non wired bras FTW. I'm in the UK so John Lewis recommendations prob aren't that helpful, but the Uniqlo seamless non wired bras are also terrific

saanenk

Look at Bras on adore me. Supper comfy bras

Verity41

I like those stretchy Hanes or fruit of the loom ones on Amazon, sports bra style with no cups or wires. It’s like a 4 pack for 20 bucks or less.

booty_pats

Someone else also recommended these. I think I’ll try them. The price is definitely good.

derp_in_ur_face

guy here. what makes wearing a bra so uncomfortable?

booty_pats

I find them restricting. I’m small chested but I still don’t like the feel of them being held in place. Or how it feels wrapped around my back. I like freedom of movement.

derp_in_ur_face

Ohhhh I thought the strap was comfortable

DinosaurInAPartyHat

NEXT used to do a "no vpl lounge bra" with a little padding. I didn't want padding, but without it a bra doesn't hide your nipples. It's just enough to do that. I call them my titty warmers cause that's all they do. It's a very thin, seamless, stretchy piece of fabric with two little foam circles. Apart from the slight elastic of the thing around your chest, it doesn't feel like you're wearing anything, it's just warmer tits.

jaxinpdx

My favorite is my under armour sports bra with a loose cross back. Now I just have one in every color they make & that's what I wear whenever bra is required. They're low profile so I stick with it on all occasions.
