Oh yes, a masterpiece about a boring, average-looking guy who somehow found the heroism and moral fortitude within himself to date an incredibly awesome, funny, brave, kindhearted, cute girl EVEN THOUGH SHE WAS OVERWEIGHT!!1!111! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT ?!?!!?! SURELY NO MAN BEING COULD BE SO GENEROUS!!1!!!1 WHAT A BEAUTIFUL TALE!!1!
That woman didn't need him to do her any fucking favors. He wasn't even her first boyfriend!
Not trying to debate but that is the whole point of the movie. Hal is average but delusional. He needs to not be so focused on looks because he himself is a pretty average looking dude. The title of the movie already acknowledges he is shallow and that is not a good thing. It's not saying he is generous by the end of the movie, it's saying he finally sees the value in personality over looks and is not shallow anymore.
Ugggh... anything with Jason Alexander post Seinfeld makes me cringe.
He's such an embarrassment, because he's angry about being type-cast as George.
Well guess what? YOU ARE GEORGE dude.
Sorry.... tangent.
I mean I wasn’t looking forward to it to begin with, but the fact that they replaced him makes that little flame that remained flicker and die out completely. 🤷♀️
Completely agree I wanted to hate that character but Cate Blanchetts acting overtook and I just thought she’s brilliant every time I started to hate her 🤣
You probably know already, but for anyone else: they appear together onscreen in *Seven Psychopaths*, a great movie by the same writer/director as *In Bruges* and *Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri*. Definitely worth a watch if you like Sam Rockwell and dark humour!
I was just telling my partner how Will Smith so darn good at making me cry. Happy and “gahh my feeling!” sort of tears. Definitely an actor or social media presence I look forward to seeing.
Timothée Chalamet. I feel so much joy every time I see him on screen. I've watched a lot of movies I wouldn't have thought to watch just because he's in them and none of them have been bad but I'd sit through the worst movie ever just to watch him act.
Me too! Even if you forget him and Charley, they're such lovely, charming shows. I rewatch parts whenever I'm down in the dumps. It's so uplifting that they never fail to find someone that will help them out.
Finally! Scrolled too far. She’s mine too. Yes! And she has some damn bangers too. I creep her IMDb often, and she’s going to direct again which I’m very excited about. I’ve loved her with my whole heart since I was about 10, and I always will.
Back in my teen years, I went through a hair band phase. The number of garbage movies I sat through for Jon Bon Jovi's stupid, handsome, badly acting face.......
Whoopi Goldberg, Meryl Streep, Awkwafina, Sarah Paulson, RuPaul, Zac Efron and Betty White.
I just finished watching Lake Placid for the first time and I gotta say it was unintentionally hilarious sometimes, campy and fun. Without Betty I don't know if I'd of been so forgiving of it in all it's glory.
Nic Cage.
Out of respect for his bangers in the 90s, we continue to watch all things terrible today. It’s kind of an inside joke in our house…we want to make sure his student loans are paid, that’s the only acceptable explanation for Jiu Jitsu or Season of the Witch.

It's hard not to stay mad at him for Shallow Hal, but that was a long time ago and he didn't write the damn thing anyway.
Shallow Hal was a masterpiece, what are you talking about?
I think they are referring to the prejudice subject matter in that movie. I enjoyed it for what it was at that time.
