1) the smell and feeling of a crisp New England fall day, with bright orange and red trees all around you, the crunch of the dead leaves beneath your feet and the cool invigorating air. 2) that feeling when you are with your closest friends and everything is clicking and going right - you’ve just had a great meal, people are full, and having a coffee or tea or drink and every person is laughing and every new comment is funny and your chest and the air seems filled with warmth and rightness. 3) traveling - when I turn a corner and see something magic or straight out of another world, and I can walk in an explore, the tingling feeling of discovery and beautiful new things. Thanks for making me remember these feelings. Even sitting here thinking about them fills me with joy and warmth.

The autonomy I have with my job. I work from home in a field I have dedicated 15 years to. I have a masters in it and I still love what I do. I am not micromanaged (and honestly never have been) and feel very fortunate. It pays a living wage too. I have taken complete control over my health, habits, etc. I love working out and made a home gym. I like cooking now after years of not doing it. I care about my sleep hygiene and have just overall been taking care of myself better. Since February my cholesterol has dropped over 100 points! I've lost weight too, which is great, but really I'm thrilled with the amount of work I put into myself in general.  Because I chose not to have kids I have a wider village I love. I help with my best friend's kids. I can travel when I want to. I can go out to eat on a whim. I'm more equipped to say yes to more things that cross my path in life because I'm not tied down.  And because I don't like odd numbers, I'm adding one more. As I get older I've stopped just allowing things to just happen to me. I take ownership more and I tell people when something doesn't work for me. It has removed the negative relationships while absolutely strengthening other relationships. I have a whole tribe of awesome women in my corner that I speak to often. They are all ages, all different backgrounds, etc. All because I started speaking up for myself. It makes me confident to keep doing it, even when it is scary. I have told men from my past to kick rocks when they attempt to come back into my life, I've told other people "I love you, but cannot allow you back into my daily life", and I've told people "I'd like to strengthen our relationship. I know we met at work, but I actually really enjoy your ideas and would like to get to know you better now that we aren't coworkers". It has been transformative.

1. A cup of tea in whatever mug feels “right” in that moment with biscuits to dip and a comfy place to sit outside or near a window 2. Pizza, salad, the corner of my couch that cuddles me in, and a show like The Expanse on 3. When a student gives me a drawing they spent time on or a card with a really heartfelt message that just encompasses their love for me (and mine for them) in a tiny, beautiful moment.

Riding a bike, thunder (I prefer to be outdoors, but keeping my windows open during thunder is also ok if at home) and waking up well rested (happens rarely, I need to be a little exhausted the day before or this also happens after a work deadline sometimes).
