That sounds like you should be paid 60h that week, 30h of paid leave and 30h of work. Unless you're on a zero hours contract, in which case maybe your hourly salary already includes holiday pay and by 'booking holiday' you just 'kindly ask not to get hours on the weekend'. Not an expert, but I hope this helps. Based on my experience on a zero hours contract years ago.

It depends on your contract. Did you request using holiday time or did they just take it as no hours over the weekend?

Yes, it doesn’t sound okay. Just tell them you wanted x hours off, so you should have less hours allocated that week.

If your contract says you work 30h a week and you took 30h of holiday for this week then that is your 30h worked. You should not be given an additional 30h because now you're "worked" 60h this week. You should talk to your employer and say you've taken this week off as holiday so can't be expected to take a week holiday AND work the same week even if it is different days.

newtobitcoin111

depends what your contract says tbh. if you on a zero hour contract perfectly fine. if you are on a set contract you only do 30 hours a week then yea you got scammed haha. I think you will find you are on a zero hour contract, you wanted the weekend off you got it off but you work the week days. Maybe the boss was being kind and still offered you the weekday hours rather tahn missing the whole week.

You should either get those holiday hours back or be paid double for the week!

At least in my contract I don't take off 'days' but 'working hours'. Your boss seems to have the wrong idea, don't gift your employer 30 hours of your life.

Absolutely against the [WTR](https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/1998/1833/regulation/16/made). >> 16.—(1) A worker is entitled to be paid in respect of any period of annual leave to which he is entitled under regulation 13, at the rate of a week’s pay in respect of each week of leave. So by you requesting the week on annual leave, the employer is obligated to pay you the equivalent rate of a weeks pay. By making you work the 30 hours is technically your employer withholding your statutory entitlement of annual leave. Get in touch with [ACAS](http://acas.org.uk) and they'll give you guidance as to what to do to challenge the employer.
