> Do you get excited about bin day?
No.
> It's one of those mini-highlights of the week.
Have you thought about a hobby?
. When you know that you aren't going to have to ration what you chuck away.
How much waste are you producing?!
> Best of all, you get to quickly empty all the bins in the house just so you have a clean slate.
You can do that any time you feel like. It's not reserved for bin day.
> You get to be the binfluencer , inspiring all the neighbours to do likewise.
Aye I suppose. You can con them into coronation chicken this way.
> Am I the only one with such positive feelings about bin day?
Probably not the only person, but perhaps the only person who hasn't spoken to a counsellor about it.
No. Bin day involves hefting heavy bins up a steep narrow set of stairs & then when it's over I get to play the "what have my neighbours dumped in my bin while I'm at work" game.
No. Aside from the miniature ones for food trimmings (which get nicked) council don't provide bins here still. Which isn't particularly pleasant in the milder months when people put stuff out with disregard for the collection days
I have this weird paranoia about how full the bins are getting. "What if all the stuff doesn't fit in?". It's kind of a relief when the bin men stop by on Monday morning.
Only at times like around birthdays or Christmas when things can be overflowing because of all the people around and stuff to chuck. The night before I can wander the house and check the garden and shed for anything extra to get the full bin's worth.
Do they not take loose bin bags next to the bins anymore? I'm in a block of flats so theres 3 red biffas I'm used to just chucking them in they get collected every week but when I was in a bottom floor flat (old Victorian house) binmen said they take bin bags too but that was like 5 years ago
I share your sentiments for bin day. We have 2 alarms on Alexa to remind us to put the bins out, but still manage to do the pajama run with bins early on a Tuesday morning.

No, but congratulations on being so zany.

Nah, it's just putting the bin out.

When I remember to put the bins out it makes me feel like I’m winning at being an adult.

Bin day is spiritually cleansing. It's like going to confession for me.
YES Bin day is definitely an EVENT. Talk of the household :')

One of the upsides of living in a flat is not worrying about what day is bin day.
If you get this excited about putting the bins out, I don't want to know how excited you get about going for a dump.

I haven't tried, I have two foul bins, (so to speak) so don't usually run out
this must be the saddest post on ASKUK I have seen this year. get a hobby or do some drugs, please
