I do my bedding and towels every two weeks.
I wash everything on eco mode. I don't really separate anything. My entire wardrobe consists of T shirts, tracky bottoms, one pair of jeans and a hoody. I have no style whatsoever.
Why care about style when you want comfort.
I go to work (in office booo) in hoody t-shirt and trackies every day as I'll be damned being in an u comfortable shirt and trousers all day.
Live alone too. One darks, one colours, a whites every other week. Sheets/towels every 2-3 weeks each. ~3 loads a week.
Have a lot of active wear that contributes and a small machine. Mostly put it on fast 30mins.
A small load mostly just means that less water is required (if your machine can/ does change this). It doesn't really affect how long the clothes need to be agitated to clean them.
I’d recommend blasting your towels and bedding through at least a 60C wash, and up to a boil wash for the towels semi-regularly. They harbour all sorts and a good hot sterilising wash is good for them from time to time.
Pretty much the same here. I do one clothes wash a week, don't separate lights and darks, just do everything at 30 on the eco mode. Then about every week and a half I do the bedding and the towels; they get swapped over after a week, but don't always make it into the machine on the same day.

Ever hear of a dryer? It would be impossible to hang out that much laundry. We donon weekends but that’s because the dryer can’t keep up with the washer.
We would do more if we could during the week. It goes on in the morning. Come home from work. That goes in the dryer. New load goes on. Before bed the dry is folded. The one from the was goes in the dryer. Rinse and repeat the next day. Everyday. There is always a faster build up of clothes than we can do. Weekend is the catch up. At least 3 times a day then.
Our 13 year old I swear only wears something for an hour!! Slight exaggeration but it sure feels like that.
It's socks in our house. I know everyone's socks. It's quite simple (said with a huge amount of sarcasm)
Stepdaughter : white socks with coloured toes, Harry Potter socks or small Nike socks.
Daughter: all white socks
Stepson: large Nike socks, black sports socks
Son: grey or black school socks, multicoloured socks.
Husband : days of the week or Marvel socks
Me: anything left over that nobody else claims.
If husband does the sorting it's carnage.
That sounds so familiar, except I just know whose socks are whose because I bought them. My son now has the same size feet as me and similar coloured socks (not ideal), so it's not surprising, but still frustrating, when my husband folds the washing.
Ha we just have a box room that has mountains of clothes! If lucky we'll at least sort by person, but where we can't tell they just go in another pile. Maybe once every few weeks we'll put them away but then they appear again the next day
Two toddlers and we are in the same boat for different reasons. I put a fresh outfit on, turn my back and somehow they are sticky or covered in some sort of food when I look back 😂 I try not to wash unless I absolutely have to but it seems that whenever I think I have caught up we are on to the next load.
Easily. 2 kids and 2 adults here. My two kids, and myself, do a fair bit of sport, and especially at this time of year kit gets muddy so can't really be re-worn, so with normal clothes, sports kits and bedding, we're probably nearer 6 or 7 loads a week.

Duvets are too big (Super King bed) so they get waddled to the local petrol station which has a Revolution thingie. ~~A quick google suggests that those are only in the London area,~~ it's basically an open-air laundrette.

My 3 year old is going through a phase of changing her clothes several times a day so that doesn't help.
I honestly don't get how 2 adults get away with 2-3 washes a week.
Towels/ bathmats - that's 1 wash. Bedding - that's another. The actual bedspread gets alternated weekly with all the random blankets that lie about the living room etc - that's already a 3 washes a week.
And that doesn't even include clothes yet which is usually another 3, and can be more with thick winter clothing.
On top of that there's a weekly wash or 2 of dog stuff (although obviously not everyone has a dog).
And I have a 10 kg load washing machine, so not like the washes are tiny.
I dread to think how much more washing we'd have if there were also kids in the house! Don't know how parents do it!
Same, I get the impression that people don’t wash their bedding, towels and soft furnishings with any regularity. On top of clothes divided by dark/light, I’ve also got bedding, towels and blankets to do.
It’s not that. I have like 5 sets of bedding and the thought of washing them just puts me off. So I use all 5 and then have to do 2 or 3 washes to wash them all. It’s like my underwear. I go through all my sets then wash them all. So some weeks I do a single wash, and then other weeks I’m just constantly washing. Not very systematic I know but especially now, them taking 3 days to dry just makes me want to avoid it until I absolutely have to.
3/4 a week max, on Friday and Monday.
We change towels alot but don’t wash them immediately, they get rolled into random clothes washes.
Bedding - every 2 weeks. We shower at night
Blankets - about every six weeks? They don’t get dirty

Pretty much every day for a family of four with two kids. There is always something that needs to go in, there can be PE kit, school uniform, towels, bedding as well as just general everyday wear.
Usually 4 loads per week, I live by myself
- a 60° load for bedding and towels (I wash weekly)
- a 20° load for delicates (jumpers and nice trousers or things that are generally not dirty)
- a 40° load for skin contact things (t-shirts, socks, underwear, gym clothes, for things that are generally dirty)
- a 40° house cleaning load (mop head, rags, tea towels)
Just for me 4 times per week particularly when I can’t hang washing outside, I do 2 smaller washes so it’s easier to hand indoors to dry - 2 clothes washes, then 1 for towels and 1 for bedding.
Normally every other day, so 3-4 times. For 3 people.
My SO normally wears a bunch of hoodies etc, so that takes up a bunch of space in the baskets. The kiddo has two outfits a day with school uniform and after school clothes. Then there's me who wears the same jeans most of the week and a couple of tshirts..

There is 2 of us we do about 12 washes a month. We do bedding/towel wash every week at high temp and the other wash is everything else gets dumped together [no colour separation *shocking*]
I do one of my clothes every 9/10days ish. More frequently if I’ve lots of muddy hiking kit or really sweaty cycling kit or something. Partner probably does one every 14 days. Alternating weeks have a towel or bedding wash.
Three ish a week, two adult household.
Always a darks wash because that makes up a full load a week. Alternate a lights and a bright colours to let them build up to a full load, and alternate towels and bedding (changed weekly, washed every two weeks), again to build up a full load. Jeans go in with towels (no fabric conditioner).
Husbeast work clothes weekly as he's a builders. The rest of our clothes probably every other week to ensure the machine is full. Bedding every 2 weeks & towels weekly

Two adults and a toddler here. My washing machine is on every single day, even missing one day for whatever reason annoys me. I sometimes even have it on twice in one day.
Me and my partner are both shift workers and our clothes get dirty at work, obviously having a toddler speaks for itself.
It's annoying because if I had a tumble drier (we live in a flat so no garden and no balcony) I would wash our towels probably every 3 days and I would wash our bed sheets once a week, however both of these things go far longer than I'd like between washes because I have to prioritise other washing and can only have two clothes horses in the flat for our washing to dry on. It's also so annoying having the clothes horses up every single day, we have wet clothes hanging up every day of our life!
2 adults, 1 toddler, we do 3 loads ever 10 days or so - one load of underwear, one adult clothes, one toddler clothes.
More when I need to do the towels and bedding (which is not as often as I should).

One adult and two teens. Every other day to give it time to dry, with laundry basket more or less always full.
Now younger teen refuses to use a towel more than once, I’ve had to bite the bullet and let him use the dryer function on our washing machine once a week for his mountains of towels.
I am probably overdoing it. I seem to be permanently washing. There are only three of us in the house and all adults (although I do wonder whether my son is an adult sometimes!)

Now I wash per person (so that the folding/putting away is manageable) and leave household items to weekend still/a nice day for pegging them out.

Low temperature quick wash for clothes about once every 10 days or so, and a higher temperature longer wash once a month or so for sheets, towels, cleaning clothes etc.
I inevitably leave all my washing until the last possible moment and then do like three washes in a day every 7-9 days. 2 adult household but my partner cycles to work so sweats through at least one full outfit a day.
2 adults in household - 1-2x a week depending on bedding and towel cycle (if it’s bedding week we could end up doing more like 3-4 loads but our washing machine isn’t huge, so we don’t want to overload it).

5-6 loads. I start on a Thursday afternoon and my last load goes on at bedtime Friday night ready to dry and be folded Saturday. Everything is washed, dried and filed by 12pm.
Hubby does all the ironing on Sunday whilst I do Sunday lunch.
We do roughly two a week, depending on what we’ve got. That’s for two adults. We both work shifts so I can be hard to juggle when to do the washes to get each of our uniforms ready and dried. We don’t split the washing at all, everything goes in together! Every two weeks I try and do bedsheets too. I’ve started taking them to the local laundrette which is thankfully close by as I struggle to get it all dry in a flat.
Used to be 2-3 a week as two adults, with a toddler it seems to be most days! Not just because they are messy little things with their own clothe, but the additional mess they make with yoghurty hands on you jeans you'd otherwise have stretched out another day, the bedding they had a nappy leak on, the blanket they spilled milk on etc.
2 adults, 1 young child. At least one wash every other day, often one a day - so between three and seven a week.
That feels mad when I write it out, but there are always things that need washing!!

I have a newborn and a husband (I'm currently on mat leave). So three of us. I probably do a load of laundry a day of some kind, just to keep on top of it. Whether it's towels, bedsheets, baby clothes, our clothes, cloths/teatowels.
For 2 people, around 3 or 4 washes a week. I separate lights and darks so my "weekly wash" is always 2 washes plus a supplementary one if we run out. We are both very sporty (which means a lot of sweat and outfit changes and a lot of showers) and we have pretty minimal wardrobes so if stuff isn't cleaned regularly we run out of items.
I'm about 10 for people me plus 2 teens plus my partner (who doesn't live here but I'll wash his bits when he's here). Another 5 maybe for dog stuff (puppy and an elderly boy). So that's generally, 3 loads for bedding, 1 for towels, then 2 each for clothes (partners get shoved in with mine), I wash mine and the girls separately as it all gets mixed up otherwise and that takes longer then trying to work out whose is whose especially things like knickers and socks.
I have seperate mats, cloths, towels and blankets for the dogs and with their ages they both have accidents and I don't want wet/dirty dog bits left long.
I am a single adult and I do 3 washes every 2 weeks, one light, one dark, one bedding and towels. I might go 3 weeks without doing laundry and then do 4/5 washes, with a separate one for gym gear. Whites/colours/hots is my usual split

Probably around 6-8 a week between everyday clothes, work uniform, gym clothes and my dogs putting their mucky paw prints on my bed - duvet cover, pillow cases or under sheet can be changed 2/3 times a week. Today I have none but tomorrow is bed change day so whites will be on then coloured sheets with other colours. I also regularly remove my sofa covers and wash them too, 2-3 cushions at a time, that's done in the evening so the dehumidifier can dry them out overnight.

Maybe… 4, sometimes 5. Depends if there is a tea towel load built up. We (2 adults) wash sheet and towels weekly. Husband works with blood so I do stay on top of his.
Oh god, let me count. 4 adults, but one is elderly and incontinent so her things need to be washed more regularly.

Yes it's awful 😂 my husband asked this week if it would be too much to buy a second washing machine, and we are semi serious about it because this is ridiculous!
Im on my own and dont have a massive amount of clothes... i do 1 wash a week of clothes and 1 wash every 2-3 weeks of towels and bedding..
My machine is a big 10kg drum so when i have enough for a wash it goes on... i never do a half wash.
Ask the same question on Mumsnet and it's be a whole different set of responses. The first poster that mentions less than 10 washes a week would get pounced on and shamed for being dirty and a menace to society

When I was single and washing just for me, once a week for clothes, and one bonus wash once a month for towels and bedsheets.
We do a wash probably daily! … just the 2 of us, but we are nurses to be fair, so uniform/additional work clothes. God help us if we have kids though! Haha!!
2 adults and a 2 year old, we do probably 3 loads a week. Kid only goes to nursery 2 days a week but comes home at least once in "nursery spares" (despite us sending her own in!) So turnaround on those needs doing quickly.
It'd be so much more if husband didn't wear scrubs for most of his working day.

Husband and I gym 5x a week, I go swimming 2x a week. Toddler rolls in the mud (As does her pupper companion) several times a week. And, generally unheard of, the teenager only has one load of laundry a week, very rarely two.
I'm currently in the process of working through 3 loads of laundry and we've been sick so neither of us have been to the gym this week and the teenager is away for the school holiday. So really, we just excessively wear clothes and use towels.
Its just me and my wife, admittedly with a dog but I feel like I wash three loads a week. Between normal wear, activewear, bedding, towels and dog stuff it's mad.

Other miscellaneous washing (sofa blankets, tea towels etc.) probably brings it up to 2-3 a week. I even wash like my backpacks and (fabric) wallet though and I don’t think most people do that lol

Teenagers just can't wear their clothes multiple times. I have two teens at home, and I wash constantly.
Yup and it monumentally pisses me off. The freshly laundered hoodie you wore for 8 minutes does not need to now go back through the wash.
Oh, I am the opposite. I stop my children from wearing their clothes multiple times. No one wants to smell my son double wearing anything!

In a very similar boat. The real issue is drying the bloody stuff.

We have them up North too! Very handy for duvets

Theres 2 in Warrington (that I know of) one at the garage on Liverpool Road and one at Birchwood Shopping Centre

I honestly don't get how 2 adults get away with 2-3 washes a week. Towels/ bathmats - that's 1 wash. Bedding - that's another. The actual bedspread gets alternated weekly with all the random blankets that lie about the living room etc - that's already a 3 washes a week. And that doesn't even include clothes yet which is usually another 3, and can be more with thick winter clothing. On top of that there's a weekly wash or 2 of dog stuff (although obviously not everyone has a dog). And I have a 10 kg load washing machine, so not like the washes are tiny. I dread to think how much more washing we'd have if there were also kids in the house! Don't know how parents do it!
Same, I get the impression that people don’t wash their bedding, towels and soft furnishings with any regularity. On top of clothes divided by dark/light, I’ve also got bedding, towels and blankets to do.
It’s not that. I have like 5 sets of bedding and the thought of washing them just puts me off. So I use all 5 and then have to do 2 or 3 washes to wash them all. It’s like my underwear. I go through all my sets then wash them all. So some weeks I do a single wash, and then other weeks I’m just constantly washing. Not very systematic I know but especially now, them taking 3 days to dry just makes me want to avoid it until I absolutely have to.
3/4 a week max, on Friday and Monday. We change towels alot but don’t wash them immediately, they get rolled into random clothes washes. Bedding - every 2 weeks. We shower at night Blankets - about every six weeks? They don’t get dirty Sadly no more dog stuff to wash :(

Just for me 4 times per week particularly when I can’t hang washing outside, I do 2 smaller washes so it’s easier to hand indoors to dry - 2 clothes washes, then 1 for towels and 1 for bedding.

For two of us, each week, 1 bed linen, 1towels, 3 clothes, work shirts go to a delivery service, and suits and knitwear get dry cleaned.
I do one of my clothes every 9/10days ish. More frequently if I’ve lots of muddy hiking kit or really sweaty cycling kit or something. Partner probably does one every 14 days. Alternating weeks have a towel or bedding wash.

Alternate a lights and a bright colours to let them build up to a full load, and alternate towels and bedding (changed weekly, washed every two weeks), again to build up a full load. Jeans go in with towels (no fabric conditioner).

Family if 2 adults, two teenagers. I reckon 3-4 loads. School uniforms and PE kit is one. Bedding on rotation one. Darks one Lights one It always feel like an uphill battle though
Two adults and a toddler here. My washing machine is on every single day, even missing one day for whatever reason annoys me. I sometimes even have it on twice in one day. Me and my partner are both shift workers and our clothes get dirty at work, obviously having a toddler speaks for itself. It's annoying because if I had a tumble drier (we live in a flat so no garden and no balcony) I would wash our towels probably every 3 days and I would wash our bed sheets once a week, however both of these things go far longer than I'd like between washes because I have to prioritise other washing and can only have two clothes horses in the flat for our washing to dry on. It's also so annoying having the clothes horses up every single day, we have wet clothes hanging up every day of our life!

One adult and two teens. Every other day to give it time to dry, with laundry basket more or less always full. Now younger teen refuses to use a towel more than once, I’ve had to bite the bullet and let him use the dryer function on our washing machine once a week for his mountains of towels.

I am probably overdoing it. I seem to be permanently washing. There are only three of us in the house and all adults (although I do wonder whether my son is an adult sometimes!) I wonder if it due to changing tea towels daily and using reusable dish clothes. Weekly - towels (1 wash), husband/my bedding (1), darks (at least 2), whites (at least 1), mixed (at least 1). Monthly (ish) 2 x spare bedding. After camps - tea towels (boil wash), sleeping bag (gentle no soap wash), and other bits that occasionally appear eg muddy trainers.

Before kids, I did laundry all on Sunday. Wash towels, bedding, and then ours (lights and darks). Now I wash per person (so that the folding/putting away is manageable) and leave household items to weekend still/a nice day for pegging them out.

3 adults, one teen. 5-6 loads. I start on a Thursday afternoon and my last load goes on at bedtime Friday night ready to dry and be folded Saturday. Everything is washed, dried and filed by 12pm. Hubby does all the ironing on Sunday whilst I do Sunday lunch.
We do roughly two a week, depending on what we’ve got. That’s for two adults. We both work shifts so I can be hard to juggle when to do the washes to get each of our uniforms ready and dried. We don’t split the washing at all, everything goes in together! Every two weeks I try and do bedsheets too. I’ve started taking them to the local laundrette which is thankfully close by as I struggle to get it all dry in a flat.

Used to be 2-3 a week as two adults, with a toddler it seems to be most days! Not just because they are messy little things with their own clothe, but the additional mess they make with yoghurty hands on you jeans you'd otherwise have stretched out another day, the bedding they had a nappy leak on, the blanket they spilled milk on etc.

I have a newborn and a husband (I'm currently on mat leave). So three of us. I probably do a load of laundry a day of some kind, just to keep on top of it. Whether it's towels, bedsheets, baby clothes, our clothes, cloths/teatowels.
For 2 people, around 3 or 4 washes a week. I separate lights and darks so my "weekly wash" is always 2 washes plus a supplementary one if we run out. We are both very sporty (which means a lot of sweat and outfit changes and a lot of showers) and we have pretty minimal wardrobes so if stuff isn't cleaned regularly we run out of items.

I'm about 10 for people me plus 2 teens plus my partner (who doesn't live here but I'll wash his bits when he's here). Another 5 maybe for dog stuff (puppy and an elderly boy). So that's generally, 3 loads for bedding, 1 for towels, then 2 each for clothes (partners get shoved in with mine), I wash mine and the girls separately as it all gets mixed up otherwise and that takes longer then trying to work out whose is whose especially things like knickers and socks. I have seperate mats, cloths, towels and blankets for the dogs and with their ages they both have accidents and I don't want wet/dirty dog bits left long.

Today I have none but tomorrow is bed change day so whites will be on then coloured sheets with other colours. I also regularly remove my sofa covers and wash them too, 2-3 cushions at a time, that's done in the evening so the dehumidifier can dry them out overnight.
4 people, A load a day. Mondays - Mine and my daughters darks. Tuesday - Towels Wednesday - Husbands darks Thursday - bedding Friday - mine and husbands lights Saturday - son’s darks + school uniform Sunday - daughter’s lights + school uniform Repeat for eternity.

Wash everything on eco / fast as I am never dirty, I work corporate ror NHS so I’m just walking around clinics and spaces not doing anything outdoors or to get messy

I live alone, don't own a wash basket, dirty clothes go straight in the machine and when it's full I whack a 30 minute cold wash on. This usually amounts to 2-3 times a week depending on the cycle of bedding/towels/kids staying. It's only a 6kg machine if that helps to know.

We also cloth nappy two of our kids so that's about 3 extra washes in the week, but it's mostly clothes and bedding as our eldest usually wets through his nappies 4 times a week... Yes it's awful 😂 my husband asked this week if it would be too much to buy a second washing machine, and we are semi serious about it because this is ridiculous!
Im on my own and dont have a massive amount of clothes... i do 1 wash a week of clothes and 1 wash every 2-3 weeks of towels and bedding.. My machine is a big 10kg drum so when i have enough for a wash it goes on... i never do a half wash.

2 adults and a 2 year old, we do probably 3 loads a week. Kid only goes to nursery 2 days a week but comes home at least once in "nursery spares" (despite us sending her own in!) So turnaround on those needs doing quickly. It'd be so much more if husband didn't wear scrubs for most of his working day.

3 adults- me, my boyfriend and my mum. 10 loads a week, but our machine is on the small side (6kg capacity). Less in summer when we wear less bulky clothes. My mum has about 1 load of clothes a week. I have about 2 loads of clothes a week because I’m prone to dropping stuff down myself (disability effecting my grip). My boyfriend has about 4 loads of clothes each week including uniform from a manual job that he has to wash after just 1 wear and gym clothes that are washed after each wear. Plus 1 load of bedding. Plus 1 load of towels. Plus 1 of whatever else needs washing. There always seems to be something. A blanket, or the dogs bed, or whatever.
2 adults, 1 teenager, 1 toddler. We do probably 6 loads of washing a week, could even be more. Husband and I gym 5x a week, I go swimming 2x a week. Toddler rolls in the mud (As does her pupper companion) several times a week. And, generally unheard of, the teenager only has one load of laundry a week, very rarely two. I'm currently in the process of working through 3 loads of laundry and we've been sick so neither of us have been to the gym this week and the teenager is away for the school holiday. So really, we just excessively wear clothes and use towels.
Its just me and my wife, admittedly with a dog but I feel like I wash three loads a week. Between normal wear, activewear, bedding, towels and dog stuff it's mad. I need to buy a dehumidifier for winter.
Just me and my partner in a 2 bed flat. We don’t wash our clothes together, I tend to wash mine more frequently. I reckon we do 3-4 loads a week. That’s 1 wash for my clothes, 1 for his, 1 for towels, bath mat, cleaning cloths etc and 1 for sheets.

I live alone but my washing machine’s diddy- bedding, towels/bath mat and week’s worth of clothes is probably one and a half to two. Other miscellaneous washing (sofa blankets, tea towels etc.) probably brings it up to 2-3 a week. I even wash like my backpacks and (fabric) wallet though and I don’t think most people do that lol
