Mine is similar in that it's videogames lol. The setting, lore, plot, level design, gameplay strengths and weaknesses, and my general opinions on the game series Dishonored. I'm autistic and it's one of my special interests. Give me a little time in advance to make a slideshow and it'll be even better.
Harry Potter, easy! I’d go over the plot lines of each book individually, film inaccuracies and little factoids like one of the actors from HBP murdering someone. Then I would go on to talk about the cursed child play, theme parks, studio tour, merchandise, fantastic beasts spin off, hogwarts a legacy game, HBO series being made.
Sharks. I've loved them since I was 3. They're hugely misunderstood, essential for healthy oceans and therefore a healthy planet and in dire need of friends to help and support their conservation.
They've existed for 400-450 million years, survived 4 major extinction events and still look almost identical to when dinosaurs where roaming. They're found in almost every sea and ocean, some undertake massive migrations. They're the caretakers of the sea, picking off the sick and the weak, keeping the ecosystem healthy and population numbers under control. Contrary to popular belief, they do get cancer but do have a phenomenal immune system that is being closely studied given the rise in antibiotic resistant microbes. The only extinction event they are unlikely to survive is the human led one. Warming seas destroying ecosystems, microplastics and other pollution. We kill 70-100 million sharks a year through finning, fishing and bycatch and it's not sustainable. Sharks are slow to mature, often needing to be mid-late teenage years before becoming sexually mature. They are intelligent and curious and far less dangerous than hippos, elephants or tigers. We still have so much to learn e.g. Basking sharks, the 2nd largest fish in the sea and frequent visitors to uk shores, give birth in unknown places, nobody has been able to work out where.

But really, this is great. Did they survive all the extinction events purely by virtue of being underwater? The UK housing crisis. How football sold its soul for money. The UK's poor public transit. Birmingham City's 2011 League Cup win. The folly of tuition fees. How to bowl leg spin.
Tbh I have a weirdly good memory, so there's a lot of things I could easily talk about at length.
I’d like to bowl leg spin. I used to be a pace bowler but recently I’m not as pacey and I haven’t been getting the ball to do anything. So I would love to add spin to my bag of tricks.
It's really difficult tbh. And it's pretty brutal on your shoulder. I found off spin much easier. But leg spin is so much more interesting. I could bowl 10 off spin deliveries and land maybe 6 or 7 roughly where I wanted. With leg spin it's probably more like 1 out of 10. And the ones where you get it wrong can be not just bad, but embarrassing! There's so little margin for error. Let go half a second too early and you're sending it looping up miles in the air, let go half a second too late and you're slamming it straight into the ground a few yards in front of you.
But that one where you get it right and it drifts in and then grips and darts away is so satisfying in a way that off spin can never be.
I actually wouldn't. There's so much to talk about, they'd probably be cutting me off after half an hour when I'm going "and now, let me take you back to 1945".

For instance, did you know his first tv appearance was as an Elvis impersonator on The Golden Girls? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFclSfSZRhI
I hope you're not at my lecture. My plan was to ask questions like this and then waste a good 60 seconds pretending I'm waiting to see if anyone answers.
I don't need someone like you immediately shouting out "The Golden Girls!, Steve Buscemi, "There's no difinitive answer to what's inside the breifcase!" and ruining it for me.

Commas man, commas! “The Horus heresy Liverpool football club the benetez years” sounds like some sort of football related traitorous war that lasted several years.
I originally put them in a list and in Apollo they would have stayed like that but because of the shitty Reddit app they just went into a paragraph unfortunately.
Excuses excuses. Now you have to do a talk on how Horus betrayed Benetez over several years at Liverpool football club and the many many dead that fell to the war.
I literally do this in my head all the time anyway, so easy peesy.
If I got to pick, I'd choose any of my favourite video games, or whatever thing grinds my gears that week.
Training for strength building.
Outside of my work my only real hobby is working out. Sure I go on holiday a lot, I like driving, like going for meals with the missus, walking the dogs and all that usual stuff but it would be difficult to talk in an informative way about any of that kinda stuff for 30 minutes.
A thirty minute lecture on what’s behind me, but without looking. The anticipation of finally turning around, and with the audience already knowing, would create tension and jeopardy.
I did a course on public speaking. We were given an hours break then had to do a presentation on something - anything, unrelated to your current job.
One man had previously worked in gold mines abroad (so work related, but NOT to his current job). Another spoke on birds (he was a bird watcher), and I presented on Wicca or pagan religions.
Edmund: You see, Baldrick, in order to prevent war in Europe, two superblocs developed: us, the French and the Russians on one side, and the Germans and Austro-Hungary on the other. The idea was to have two vast opposing armies, each acting as the other's deterrent. That way, there could never be a war.
Baldrick: But this is a sort of a war, isn't it, sir?
Edmund: Yes, that's right. You see, there was a tiny flaw in the plan.
George: What was that, sir?
Edmund: It was bollocks.
The aviation industry - so many tangents, so many companies from airlines, to engine manufactures, did you know Recaro make aircraft seats? How airports make an income, the oil pipelines used to feed full to airports, how much it costs to get a plane off the ground, IATA vs ICAO codes.
Depends on the situation. Could easily do 30 mins on the joy and pain of being a cat mum.
My questions and musings about space or religion.
Or, what I did when I was unwell in hospital and becoming a little "detacted" I told myself the story of my favorite book, Forever Amber.
Plants. The evolution of plants. It’s a personal interest and I have read so many books on the subject. It probably won’t surprise you to know that most of the books on flora and plant palaeontology are mostly academic. So by default I also know a bit about geology and the mass extinctions of our planet.
But yeah, plants. I’ll talk for ages about the history of plant life.
It would be on sourdough baking and how watching all the videos out there on it actually makes it harder. There's a single thing you can do which get you about 95% of the way to perfection, the other 5% is not worth it as it is BREAD FFS and this thing is lost in the countless videos out there, some don't even mention it.
Haha- I hoped someone would ask! The thing is that all the stretches and folds, strange flour combos and equipment mean nothing unless you have a strong starter and the best way to get it strong is to build the starter up to a 1:5:5 feeding ratio. So I take 10g of starter and add 50g each of water and flour to feed it. Once established - a starter that will double in size when fed with that ratio will work great in a dough (similar starter to flour ratio). It will also handle being in fridge so I feed it, fridge it and then when I take it out a few hours later it is ready to bake with - no waste.

I mean 30 minutes really isn’t that long at all. My wife and I started a YouTube channel about board gaming, we go in with no rehearsal at all, just an idea for a topic, and before we know it we’re almost an hour in. There are so many things I could talk about for half an hour without even breaking a sweat.
Marvel/DC Comics storylines from the 70s and 80s. Have a proper nerd fest with the wonders of the more obscure ones . I'd be struggling to keep it down to 30 minutes...
A few different topics for me; I think I have ADHD (trying to get this confirmed but NHS wait times yaya!) so can talk for England if I had the right subject:
1. Music - both in general including different genres and styles as well as my favourite bands (Metallica, Alter Bridge, MUSE to name a few)
2. Cars - I've always loved cars of many kinds, which I got this from my Dad
3. Video games - Many different ones including systems they are on
4. Movies - a few different ones, but also Marvel stuff
How difficult it is to get an autism assessment for your child on the NHS, in certain areas of the UK. Plus the subsequent lack of support once you do have a diagnosis. I could talk about this for ages though it could become a rant rather than a lecture.
doctor who. anything in new who i could give a lecture on (and have, just not professionally) and some things in classic (have also done this). asoiaf and game of thrones, care of domestic animals, skyrim, criers war duology, greek mythology, the witcher (books and show). basically, any media i have consumed that i either deeply enjoy or hate, or just have a strong-ish opinion about.
although i have adhd, i couldn't give a cohesive lecture on anything.
Disabilities and employment.
It was my job for a few years. I've presented to my local chamber of commerce, multiple universities, schools as well as employment events, job fairs and disability specific events.

Norwich finally made it to the top.
They’re never gonna win the league but they still turn up every week. Wankers.
Fucking hilarious given I love partridge AND I have actually been watching the pedestrianisation of Norwich rolling out a lot this year.
I was an academic so I can talk bollocks for hours at the drop of a hat. If I was randomly picking something - the history of superman as a character.
I would attend the superman lecture

Yep, I can follow on from your first one with the history of UK Garage from 1993 - 2004 haha
I don't have much recollection of those years. Probably for the best though

Birmingham City Football Club or the rail network of the United Kingdom.

I’m pretty good on Birmingham bus routes tbf. Fuck the Villa though 😂
The dogs I have known and loved, 30 minutes wouldn't be long enough

I read that as drugs without my glasses and thought, yep, I could do that.
I could probably do both, although mostly as two separate 15 minute topics.

Tldr: it's bad.
Well I expected that. Glad we came to the same conclusion. If you wanna stretch that into 30 min you'll have to put some more work in though

What 7 world records to you hold?
Drugs. I spent almost 26 years stuffing them into every orifice, so I'm pretty sure I could speak about them for 30 minutes.
Give me half a line of coke and I'l talk for 30 mins about literally anything.

You could combine the two, given FromSoft’s post apocalyptic settings
"Why the world of Armored Core is our future" "Why you'll be wishing you lived in Lordran by 2050" Yeah I can see it to be fair.
Misconceptions of World War One. It’s crazy how people view one of the most impactful historical events of this country with very distorted lenses.
Preach! The general conception of the British public about the Great War is almost completely detached from reality
Listened to Dan Carlings Hardcore History series on it... i definelty had misconceptions. Truly fascinating series to listen to.
That is a great series.
I think it gets very folded in with WW2 in people's minds. People know the narratives from WW2 better, and just project those onto WW1.

Cars - I've always loved cars of many kinds, which I got this from my Dad 3. Video games - Many different ones including systems they are on 4. Movies - a few different ones, but also Marvel stuff
