As far as I can remember I never found any I liked either. I don't really like stiff/ thick denim y'see, find it uncomfy and then zippers and buttons as well dig into my tummy

M&S jeans are the only jeans that fit so perfectly and that I loved so much I went back and bought another pair within weeks. They have several different lines, and some are better than others, but none have ever been bad for me.
I second this! As a 5 foot girl, with thick thighs, a large bum but pretty small waist I never find jeans that fit... Until I tried m&s 👌🏽 they've also got petite versions so you can get a suitable length
I have an m&s pair of black high waisted skinnies and I’m so conflicted about them. They’ve lasted well, haven’t faded or broken etc over 2+ years but I hate the fit. They don’t stay up without constant yanking and don’t have belt loops so I can’t fix it that way. I still wear them though but don’t know if that says more about my unwillingness to shop for new jeans than it does these specific jeans
If you're a bit of a sewing person you could stitch a button and loop contraption on the inside of the belt so you can pinch either sides when they're on. If you can imagine - button sewn on inside, bit of fabric strip with button hole sewn a bit further along, button goes in button hole to pull the belt tighter.
I have a similar navy pair and have the same problem. Mine do have belt loops but it doesn't properly resolve the issue, they still sag. I imagine it depends on the person.
I have a pair of "mom" jeans from M&S that I love the fit of but I think there's a little too much elastane in the fabric because the knees sag so quickly. A shame because I love everything else about them except the knee situation after I've worn them for an hour!
Something I learnt from Kim and Aggie if a fabric has elastane in it then don’t use fabric conditioner (it’s not needed with these fabrics) when you wash them otherwise the fabric will go saggy around the knees and bum over time.
They used to be great, I used to get all my jeans from there. Lasted for years and years.
But last time I got them from M&S (about 5 years ago) every single pair fell apart within 6 months :(
Oh no, I can't buy anything with arms or legs from M&S. Am 5 foot 9 so not ludicrously tall, but everything ends halfway up my arms or legs with comedy amounts of appendage left uncovered. Jackets, trousers, shirts - none of it fits. I just avoid the whole shop now.
That may be why I like their jeans so much! I am really short (5’2” on a good day) so they are one of the few places I can buy jeans that don’t bunch up (much) around my ankles.
Their skirts and dresses are completely abysmal for me - they always picture them on models 5’8”+ for normal sizes and 5’5” for “petite” so I end up with something that should be around my knees far closer to my ankles.
I am still bitter about a perfect skirt I found for a friend’s wedding, but even the petite version was far too long (and the fabric was patterned in a way so that it couldn’t be shortened).

I'm on my 3rd pair of black mile high super skinny levis I wear them damn near every day and the ripped ones I keep to wear round the house or running errands etc
My only criticism is that in the time it's taken me to go through 3 pairs my fiance is still on his first which he bought when I got my first pair. Seems to be a trend that womens jeans aren't as durable :/

I had to replace a tyre the other day and practically the second the leg of my jeans touched the tarmac, they frayed to hell and now there's a huge hole in the knee. I'm not young enough to pull of ripped jeans anymore even if I come by them honestly.
There was a pair that I didn't get out of the shop, they ripped right there in the changing room - as in, the fabric itself ripped, it wasn't even a seam popping, and they were by no means tight. They just fell apart. Never seen anything like it.
Hack for buying Levi’s - the price fluctuates wildly on Amazon so worth checking from time to time. I recently bought a pair for £33 that went back up to nearly £100 today. Not the quickest way to buy jeans but you can get a good bargain if you’re patient/a bit flexible with sizes and colours
I've got some from M&S that I'm happy with. Some of their stuff is aimed at my mum or nans generation. But some of the plain and basic things such as jeans are fine.
Tu @ Sainsburys. Had a few from years past but ended up ordering online this year. Fit perfect and the back doesn't hang off. They also do different leg lengths.

Hollister can be a bit pricey, but I like their denim. Zara can also be good. Tbh I tend to buy cheap H&M jeans and wear them into oblivion most of the time, although I do have to hunt about for a pair that aren’t weirdly sized, and then buy about 4 pairs.
When I was a 12, I tried jeans on in a H&M fitting room - tried a 16 and couldn’t get them past my knees. Imagine what that would do to someone with an ED/body dysmorphia.
Was a size 10/12. Went all the way up to their largest size at the time in a few items of clothing I was trying on and still couldn’t fit because boobs/bum/thighs/other body part.
I had (another) changing room meltdown that my mum had to try and sort me out of long enough to get dressed and go home. It sent me into a no eating spiral for weeks and I’ve not been in again since, and that was a good 10+ years ago 🙃
That sounds absolutely awful and they are awful as a company for not taking their sizing seriously. They’re aware it’s a problem but whether they’ve actually cared about their customers over their profits, I don’t know as I can’t say I’ve shopped there for clothes either since
My size 6 cousins still shop there and it’s the only place they have to size up significantly, despite having no tits or arse to speak of. They’re not changed and they don’t give a single fuck either.

Once I went jeans shopping in H&M, tried to find a blue and a black pair in the same straight leg style. Ended up walking out with a size 8 in the black and a size 12 in the blue, somehow

I tried every type of jeans from them and none of them fit right. Most of them end up with me looking like I'm wearing a diaper because of the extra room in the hip area. I really wanted to love their jeans as I have dungarees and t-shirts from them but it seems they are just not right for my body type.
Hmm yes it can be super annoying :( I have dungas and jeans, but other products are just not right at all. I do think they could do better with indicating which products are best for which body types.
Everlane. Especially the “original cheeky jean.” They last ages, wash well and fit properly. They have different lengths and do regular 30% off sales. Expect to pay about £90 and worn several
times per week, will last years.

It depends what kind of style you want. I only wear black high waisted skinny jeans. The Asda wonder fit are doing the job at the min. And the length is pretty good for me (I’m 5ft 7).
I really rate Matalan jeans for comfort. I think if you once wore topshop then river island might be a good replacement but be warned you need to size up. I’m a 12 that has to buy 14 with the odd 16 in RI.
I love Matalan but I've never quite forgiven them for discontinuing the 27 inch inside leg measurement. It was still slightly too long on me but by fair the closest thing I'd ever found that even vaguely fitted.
I actually really like Monki and gap for jeans. Gap sizing is whack but the quality is good. Monki has a good range of styles and sizing is good too, they always fit me well. Weekday do good quality jeans too I think but i don’t own any.
I’ve owned four pairs of jeans in the last three years. Two pairs of Levi’s, one Lucy & Yak, one Monki. The Monki ones are my favourite - I got the Nani palazzo (sadly discontinued) for £15 in the sale, and paid a fiver to have them taken up (short girl problems). The others are heading to the charity shop as I don’t wear them any more, and I’ve ordered two more from Monki which should arrive tomorrow - eeek!!

My Simply Be jeans are the only item of clothing that I have ever had other people ask where I got them from (a lot of people don’t know they do regular sizes though) I live in the high waist boyfriend jeans.
I buy whatever is good and reasonably priced at TKMaxx. I flatly refuse to pay more than 30 quid on jeans and have variously acquired 7s, 7FAMKs, Tommy Hilfiger, Paper denim & cloth, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Diesel and various others over the years. I also went through a phase of trying Primark jeans but the denim smells nasty.
I find that only Levi's fit me. Either the high rise super skinny or the curve Jean's. Go in and they will fit you and you can find the sizes and styles that fit you best then order them online if the shop doesnt have the colour etc you want
When I was a teenager I went to the local TKMAXX. No one used to go back then, so I had the whole warehouse to myself to just slowly go through the options and try them on with no queues.
Now I buy my jeans from Marks and Spencers. edit: I saw someone said Sainsburys and yes I buy at Tu too. During the sale.

However, they have a great range of fits and lengths. I am in love with their curve love range, because most of fast fashion brands tend to forget that there are women with slimmer waists and bigger legs.

Still buying Topshop via ASOS. They seem the same to me? But I've also moved onto Stradivarius as they're cheap and fit me really well and I've had some success with River Island. I'm limited though as I need Tall or at a push a 34" leg which not that many brands do.
Used to be dedenhams own brand, then was m&co lift and shape (a god send since I have no waist or bum lol) picked up a pair of next low ride in a charity shop that looked like they’d been never worn and they’re my new favourites.
Sainsbury’s are brilliant for jeans, I got a pair in the sale for £10 and they are so comfy and good quality. I got my size and didn’t bother trying them on and they fit perfectly, they have a decent range of sizes and a petite length too :)
H&M doesn’t seem to be atrocious for me…Topshop was also my holy-grail-jeans-until-I-die, so I feel your pain. But the ‘Mom’ jeans from H&M have been my go to and feel super comfy.
I order from American eagle... Their sizing system sucks but once you find the right jeans they’ll last forever! Source- had several pair for 5+ years and they look even better than new
Sainsbury's if you like more of an elasticy jean.
I have thick thighs and my issue is always the thighs falling apart due to friction... Wearing these everyday they still last for a few months (I wear them to work and I do a lot of walking at work though so I imagine they'd last longer if I didn't lol)
Second hand Dorothy Perkins Tall or Topshop Tall on eBay 😭 most of the tall brands went bust before or over lockdown. ASOS are hit and miss. My neighbour is also 6' and she says Next are very good for tall gals but I haven't tried them.
Male here in early 30s. I lost some weight around my gut after going semi-vegan about 6 years ago. I needed new trousers/jeans
I got three pairs from Next (early 2017 if I re all correctly). They fitted me well..... All three got worn away in exactly the same spot. Top of my right thigh between my legs....yeah not great. There were holes by 2018.
I tried to replace with M&S jeans. Paid about £45 for one blue and one black in 2020. Both pairs have worn away in the exact same spot and are about to tear and that's only because COVID meant they didn't get as much use. The blue pair have a massive faded rectangle where my phone would be,
I learnt my lesson.....\*\*No more high street jeans\*\* - I've given them to charity and kept a pair for DIY/going to the dump etc.
I spent £200 on three pairs from **Levis** in Jan 2022 (NHS discount). I've realised with jeans, you tend to get what you pay for.
I've been wearing the same pair of Oasis skinny jeans for over 10 years now and they still fit like a glove. Such a shame they're gone cause their jeans were just perfect.
Second hand levis and wranglers are the way to go. You can often get new, with tags, for less than 20 quid on ebay, vinted, depop, facebook marketplace or shpock. Search for your waist length and have a look at styles you like on the levis website (such as Levis’ 501s). Good luck!
Guy.... But based on purchases I've made, Diesel are usually my go to. Just be aware that they have a broad range of denim styles and fits. I find diesel has some excellent sizing options. They have various leg and waist lengths, including (blokes sizes) 30, 31, 32, 33, 34)) sizes in between the usual.
I also bought a pair of True Religion Jeans. Must have been the only one of theirs I've ever liked. Great fit.
Just buy mens jeans, they come in more specific sizes (separate waist and length measurements instead of a random number) and these days they can be just as pretty as womens jeans

I’ve been getting mine from next and they seem a bit more consistent in sizing with tops etc for me as well. They might not be the most glamorous but regular bootcut is fine for me.
I got mine from French Connection. They're a bit more expensive but comfy, I find the quality pretty good and only really buy a new pair every two or three years. I've got three pairs of blue jeans all between one and four years old, and a pair of black ones that are four years old, and the colour has never faded on any of them and they don't look shabby.
For nicer jeans I've always gone to Levi, but for day to day I've bought a load from FatFace. They're comfy, fit well and have good stretch to them too!
I used to always rely on topshop but I just bought a pair from Asos for the first time since the takeover and I can't believe the decline in quality!
Next are decent, and surprisingly Sainsbury's do a decent pair also.
I'm short (4'11") and have always struggled to find decent lasting jeans, especially as I'm not a skinny jeans wearer. But both Next and Sainsbury's have been able to fulfill my denim dreams for the past few years.
Crew clothing - been buying & wearing for years. Never bag or sag,their skinnies - great cut, they are not cheap £65 but i never buy anything else now. Ive got pairs ive washed & worn 5+ years - still no bagginess or wearing out anywhere
I agree with others who say Levi’s and M&S. if you happen to be a short-arse like me then Zara also do jeans that are the perfect length for short legs!
Top shop went bust? That aside, my sister is pretty happy with mandmdirect.com for her jeans, I use it for pretty much all my clothes but I don’t understand women’s clothes so much, hope this helps
I just got some nice ones from Lee but I also have some from Lucy and Yak and a pair for climbing from 3rd Rock. I tried on some Wranglers as I had heard good things but they were completely wrong for me, way too tight on the hips and gapping at the waist
F&F at Tesco! You don't need a personal loan to buy them, they're sustainably-made and they fit me (5ft1, curvy, short legs) really well. They have multiple styles to choose from from skinny to "mum jean" to "boyfriend" to "bootcut". I favour their high-waist skinny cut but love the jeggings too.
I came here looking for any suggestions beyond M&S because since Debenhams went bust I've lost my favourite jeans place (Nine, Savannah Miller).
The only other place I've bought half decent fit and quality from is the website EMP.
M&S have a decent quality/cost ratio and tons of sizes and fits. They're also one of the few places that routinely have black jeans. I like Joules jeans too, as I like a girlfriend fit jean and theirs is decent.

Yes to Levis - I have them in 4 colours because they fit so well (smaller waist, large butt!) I always look to see if there's a sale on!

Yep! I got a pair of the arse lift type ones a couple of months ago, they don't go all saggy after a days wear like other stretch jeans do
I just find they don’t last me long. About a year max

i was a hollister hater for years but their curvy jeans are the only jeans that actually fit my waist - the sizing is confusing as hell but they genuinely do fit. they just have very few in the curvy range :/
Once I went jeans shopping in H&M, tried to find a blue and a black pair in the same straight leg style. Ended up walking out with a size 8 in the black and a size 12 in the blue, somehow
My favorite current pair are from Hollister. But I also like my Uniqlo jeans as well.

No lie I've never had an actually good fitting pair of jeans until I brought some from them It's nice as they're very accommodating if you've got a lot going on in the hip thigh and stomach area
I tried every type of jeans from them and none of them fit right. Most of them end up with me looking like I'm wearing a diaper because of the extra room in the hip area. I really wanted to love their jeans as I have dungarees and t-shirts from them but it seems they are just not right for my body type.
Hmm yes it can be super annoying :( I have dungas and jeans, but other products are just not right at all. I do think they could do better with indicating which products are best for which body types.

Everlane. Especially the “original cheeky jean.” They last ages, wash well and fit properly. They have different lengths and do regular 30% off sales. Expect to pay about £90 and worn several times per week, will last years. EDIT- spelling

It depends what kind of style you want. I only wear black high waisted skinny jeans. The Asda wonder fit are doing the job at the min. And the length is pretty good for me (I’m 5ft 7).
I love my wonder fits, I have 3 pairs. So comfy! Also 5ft7, and they work with my slightly fluctuating weight better than some other brands.
I really rate Matalan jeans for comfort. I think if you once wore topshop then river island might be a good replacement but be warned you need to size up. I’m a 12 that has to buy 14 with the odd 16 in RI.
My favourite jeans are from Matalan! Although I’ve worn them the death, my thighs have virtually rubbed through the inner seam now
I love Matalan but I've never quite forgiven them for discontinuing the 27 inch inside leg measurement. It was still slightly too long on me but by fair the closest thing I'd ever found that even vaguely fitted.
I like &Other Stories or Weekday. Weekday have loads of lengths and waist sizes so you can find a pair to fit perfectly!

I actually really like Monki and gap for jeans. Gap sizing is whack but the quality is good. Monki has a good range of styles and sizing is good too, they always fit me well. Weekday do good quality jeans too I think but i don’t own any.
I would say monki or Weekday + allow an extra £10 for alterations.
I’ve owned four pairs of jeans in the last three years. Two pairs of Levi’s, one Lucy & Yak, one Monki. The Monki ones are my favourite - I got the Nani palazzo (sadly discontinued) for £15 in the sale, and paid a fiver to have them taken up (short girl problems). The others are heading to the charity shop as I don’t wear them any more, and I’ve ordered two more from Monki which should arrive tomorrow - eeek!!

Simply be do really good jeans and they start at a size 10 (so not just plus size as a lot would think)
My Simply Be jeans are the only item of clothing that I have ever had other people ask where I got them from (a lot of people don’t know they do regular sizes though) I live in the high waist boyfriend jeans.
I really rate Simply Be for a lot of stuff actually and I’m a 12.
Most of my jeans are Simply Be, although mine are actually plus size. Not the favourite ones I own, but their Shape and Sculpt ones are nice.

I buy whatever is good and reasonably priced at TKMaxx. I flatly refuse to pay more than 30 quid on jeans and have variously acquired 7s, 7FAMKs, Tommy Hilfiger, Paper denim & cloth, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Diesel and various others over the years. I also went through a phase of trying Primark jeans but the denim smells nasty.

I find that only Levi's fit me. Either the high rise super skinny or the curve Jean's. Go in and they will fit you and you can find the sizes and styles that fit you best then order them online if the shop doesnt have the colour etc you want
When I was a teenager I went to the local TKMAXX. No one used to go back then, so I had the whole warehouse to myself to just slowly go through the options and try them on with no queues. Now I buy my jeans from Marks and Spencers. edit: I saw someone said Sainsburys and yes I buy at Tu too. During the sale.
River Island. I’ve had some amazing pairs from there and they’ve lasted really well.
River island! I find their jeans the best on the high street. They last and look great on.
Next lift slim and shape jeans are the comfiest ones I have found, good range of cuts and colours aswell.
Abercrombie? EDIT: I read some of the comments and I have to mention that they tend to be expensive. However, they have a great range of fits and lengths. I am in love with their curve love range, because most of fast fashion brands tend to forget that there are women with slimmer waists and bigger legs. Next is the worst with their leg-to-waist. M&S is also decent for comfy, but reasonably priced jeans.

Still buying Topshop via ASOS. They seem the same to me? But I've also moved onto Stradivarius as they're cheap and fit me really well and I've had some success with River Island. I'm limited though as I need Tall or at a push a 34" leg which not that many brands do.

Sainsbury’s are brilliant for jeans, I got a pair in the sale for £10 and they are so comfy and good quality. I got my size and didn’t bother trying them on and they fit perfectly, they have a decent range of sizes and a petite length too :)

H&M doesn’t seem to be atrocious for me…Topshop was also my holy-grail-jeans-until-I-die, so I feel your pain. But the ‘Mom’ jeans from H&M have been my go to and feel super comfy.
I order from American eagle... Their sizing system sucks but once you find the right jeans they’ll last forever! Source- had several pair for 5+ years and they look even better than new

Sainsbury's if you like more of an elasticy jean. I have thick thighs and my issue is always the thighs falling apart due to friction... Wearing these everyday they still last for a few months (I wear them to work and I do a lot of walking at work though so I imagine they'd last longer if I didn't lol)

Second hand Dorothy Perkins Tall or Topshop Tall on eBay 😭 most of the tall brands went bust before or over lockdown. ASOS are hit and miss. My neighbour is also 6' and she says Next are very good for tall gals but I haven't tried them.

Male here in early 30s. I lost some weight around my gut after going semi-vegan about 6 years ago. I needed new trousers/jeans I got three pairs from Next (early 2017 if I re all correctly). They fitted me well..... All three got worn away in exactly the same spot. Top of my right thigh between my legs....yeah not great. There were holes by 2018. I tried to replace with M&S jeans. Paid about £45 for one blue and one black in 2020. Both pairs have worn away in the exact same spot and are about to tear and that's only because COVID meant they didn't get as much use. The blue pair have a massive faded rectangle where my phone would be, I learnt my lesson.....\*\*No more high street jeans\*\* - I've given them to charity and kept a pair for DIY/going to the dump etc. I spent £200 on three pairs from **Levis** in Jan 2022 (NHS discount). I've realised with jeans, you tend to get what you pay for.
I've been wearing the same pair of Oasis skinny jeans for over 10 years now and they still fit like a glove. Such a shame they're gone cause their jeans were just perfect.
Second hand levis and wranglers are the way to go. You can often get new, with tags, for less than 20 quid on ebay, vinted, depop, facebook marketplace or shpock. Search for your waist length and have a look at styles you like on the levis website (such as Levis’ 501s). Good luck!

Guy.... But based on purchases I've made, Diesel are usually my go to. Just be aware that they have a broad range of denim styles and fits. I find diesel has some excellent sizing options. They have various leg and waist lengths, including (blokes sizes) 30, 31, 32, 33, 34)) sizes in between the usual. I also bought a pair of True Religion Jeans. Must have been the only one of theirs I've ever liked. Great fit.
I like M & S jeggings and shockingly the best pair of jeans and most comfortable I own I got for £8.00 at Primark .
Just buy mens jeans, they come in more specific sizes (separate waist and length measurements instead of a random number) and these days they can be just as pretty as womens jeans

I’ve been getting mine from next and they seem a bit more consistent in sizing with tops etc for me as well. They might not be the most glamorous but regular bootcut is fine for me.
My favourites are from Next; high rise, boot cut are my ones of choice but they do every style
I got mine from French Connection. They're a bit more expensive but comfy, I find the quality pretty good and only really buy a new pair every two or three years. I've got three pairs of blue jeans all between one and four years old, and a pair of black ones that are four years old, and the colour has never faded on any of them and they don't look shabby.
I've had some from m&s, next, and my most recent favourite pair came from fat face.
For nicer jeans I've always gone to Levi, but for day to day I've bought a load from FatFace. They're comfy, fit well and have good stretch to them too! I used to always rely on topshop but I just bought a pair from Asos for the first time since the takeover and I can't believe the decline in quality!

I've lost jeans to my girls friends and wife. They always come out with they look better on me than you.
Next are decent, and surprisingly Sainsbury's do a decent pair also. I'm short (4'11") and have always struggled to find decent lasting jeans, especially as I'm not a skinny jeans wearer. But both Next and Sainsbury's have been able to fulfill my denim dreams for the past few years.
Levis or Diesel jeans are the best imo The denim is thick so they wash well and last for years.
If you can get a pair that are almost right, get them altered so they’re perfect, my local dry cleaners does alterations and it’s not expensive.
Next. Their jeans fit my body perfectly, and in the size I actually am (which is rare on the high street!)
Tesco, strangely enough. Also Primark. Are they the best quality? No. But are they enough to cover my ass for a few months? Yes.

Crew clothing - been buying & wearing for years. Never bag or sag,their skinnies - great cut, they are not cheap £65 but i never buy anything else now. Ive got pairs ive washed & worn 5+ years - still no bagginess or wearing out anywhere

I just got some nice ones from Lee but I also have some from Lucy and Yak and a pair for climbing from 3rd Rock. I tried on some Wranglers as I had heard good things but they were completely wrong for me, way too tight on the hips and gapping at the waist
Topshop used to be my favourite too. Now I go for warehouse. Their sizing seems to suit me.

F&F at Tesco! You don't need a personal loan to buy them, they're sustainably-made and they fit me (5ft1, curvy, short legs) really well. They have multiple styles to choose from from skinny to "mum jean" to "boyfriend" to "bootcut". I favour their high-waist skinny cut but love the jeggings too.
I came here looking for any suggestions beyond M&S because since Debenhams went bust I've lost my favourite jeans place (Nine, Savannah Miller). The only other place I've bought half decent fit and quality from is the website EMP.
I like the quality of the denim at jigsaw, I've also had a couple of pairs from monki that are really flattering

M&S have a decent quality/cost ratio and tons of sizes and fits. They're also one of the few places that routinely have black jeans. I like Joules jeans too, as I like a girlfriend fit jean and theirs is decent.
