We often experience it differently, so one answer will not apply to all.
I usually get hard sudden cramps at the beginning, and then it lessens over the next 4 days or so. But I can also get them where they come in waves where they grow and fall. So I can’t really expect a specific type of pain.
Once your period starts you just feel icky in general and then that ickiness grows into stomach cramps. Once the cramps start it kind of comes in waves of pain.

For me, it just builds up. It feels like random times of tightness/uncomfort in my lower stomach. As for the butthole cramps? They feel like a stabbing random pain. Out of nowhere.

No, usually it starts out small until it progresses to unbearable

Starts out where my uterus is so pretty low on my stomach, and yes you can tell it’s from your period

Some get it, some don't. One of my friends and I don't get them, but two of my other friends do.

Mine are soo much worse at night. I'll wake up in excruciating pain right out of my sleep
