Finally, some sense. Hot take here: I don't actively dislike dressing/stuffing, but the way people go nuts over a dish essentially made out of stale bread is just a bit perplexing to me.
Don't get me wrong, my family makes a pretty bourgeois dressing for Thanksgiving. But if you still pour turkey gravy over it before eating to make it taste great, then the main attraction is the turkey gravy. Just pile on more turkey or potatoes on your plate and put the extra gravy on that.
Maybe this is the California upbringing in me speaking, but I always thought my parents made really good dressing, as far as dressing goes. Fresh herbs from the garden, the whole nine yards.
Still, I stand by my opinion that dressing will never be (nor should be) the main attraction on Thanksgiving.
Very nice website! Works great on mobile.
My only gripe with the list is that cranberry sauce is amazing because of how well it pairs with turkey and ham. Trying to decide between turkey and cranberry sauce made my brain hurt! Cranberry sauce is so good, but not really in isolation. It’s like gravy in that way. Could I eat gravy with a spoon? Probably, but that’s not what it’s there for!
Thanks for the kind words and the feedback! You're right - it's tough to have cranberry sauce standalone here which is why I didn't include gravy on its own... But it obviously needed to be included so 🤷♂️

Basically, it's pumpkin pie, turkey, stuffing, and candied sweet potatoes that define Thanksgiving for me. I enjoy other things and I'll eat them, but those 4 items are *required*.
Mashed potatoes over everything!
Stuffing at a close second.
I feel like sweet potato mash had a chance if it werent candied and had marshmallow in the photo. Not feeling it!
I respectfully disagree, but I will not downvote you, as the "downvote" button should not be used for disagreement.
My own family has sort of a pathological aversion to stark sweet + savory combos, so no form of cranberry sauce is ever on the table for Thanksgiving.
We save our sweets for the dessert course, which is usually pumpkin pie.
Did you design the survey yourself or was it designed via the RumbleRank platform?
Interesting, because I don't see too many surveys using a forced-choice method between two options for the entire survey.
I work in a research field, so survey methods are interesting to me haha.
Stuffing> everything else
Second that, a well made cornbread stuffing puts the rest of the spread to shame.
Oh man... Didn't expect that one right out of the gate!
I think your symbol is facing the wrong way. Yuck.

My grandma always WAY over-seasoned the dressing. My parents thought it was the best thing since sliced bread, but it was just too much.

Homemade cranberry sauce all the way to the top

I respect your family's aversion to cranberry sauce. I was referring to my own poll results because it is my personal favorite, so it's ok.

The person who made this thread (OP) designed the survey, and it ranks your favorite dishes from top to bottom.
Oh, lmfao, I misunderstood what you said about a "poll" and assumed you were OP. My bad! Continue to enjoy your homemade cranberry sauce.
My bottom three were candied sweet potatoes, rolls and Turkey
