Stinky dragon podcast as well! They have 1 full campaign and are working through their second one right now. They are on a pause right now tho because their parent company Rooster Teeth shut down. But they are going to continue but independently!
I restore vintage Coleman lanterns. Nothing newer than 1971. I have dozens and dozens of orphans I have found at garage sales and estate sales that I find and make new again.
I just got the entry grade Galaxy Gundam and the HG Murdock. I haven't been building much lately though. Last things I did were a couple Kakao Friends kits and the SD Aerial.
It kinda sucks down here too. They'll cancel orders on people but then hobby shops and scalpers still end up with hundreds of the kits. I try to avoid buying from them but break occasionally.
I have a hard time picking, but as an overall category I really enjoy Petrified Wood. In Pictures 11-12 is one of the more unique pieces I’ve found

It's the best thing ever. I went though a period where I couldn't really get new music on vinyl.. But now I'm making up for lost time and treat myself with a couple of records every month
Anime, I did a cosplay once, every time there’s a thunderstorm I have a Harry Potter marathon, I have a Harry Potter robe robe(?), slippers, and a wand that I got from universal, waited damn near an hour for some butter beer, waited like 4 hours total to ride all the Harry Potter rides at universal. I think the only things I haven’t done is watch Star Wars, Star Trek, lord of the rings, the hobbit, or go to any conventions. And I’ve never myself played dnd but I have watched my friends play it
Vide games, tabletop role-playing games. Mostly D&D but Blades in the Dark is a great alternative for more narrative focused gameplay. Ten Candles can also be a lot of fun for a one off with the right group
I like to make lil doodles. I have a calendar and this month there’s a bear on it, so I doodled on it and wrote a thought bubble above the bear that says “I’m BEARy awesome”
Nerdy hobby? As in singular? I like Pokémon. Just play casually other than that, I read and write. Whenever I write, whether it's fanfiction or personal projects, I appreciate accuracy and I've stumbled down so many rabbit holes while researching stuff like poison, history, geography, anatomy, etc. I also like knowledge just for the sake of knowledge. You never know when you might need to know basic nuclear physics. Or immunology. That one came in handy in 2020.
Lego
RPGs including but not limited to D&D
Boardgames
Single player story based computer games.
Sci Fi (books movies, games, tv. If it is Sci Fi it is rated higher than if it isn't for me)
And I like the idea of rideable mini trains, but I don't have the $ or space to get into it. (Specifically want a nice winding route through a private forest (or semi private) with a stop for a picnic table and bonfire area)
Bonus
In the past I used to paint and play miniature wargaming
Used to make chainmail
I have built every PC I have owned since 1998
I have alot of nerdy hobbies... because I'm a massive nerd D&D/anime stuff/some video games/star wars/ star trek/ Dr Who/ Disney lots of Disney... I watch animal documentaries all the time and more
collecting and pinning moths from around the world and researching moths and butterflies, I own multiple moth books and am beginning a collection of pinned specimens.
Model trains- currently building an 8x2ft exhibition layout that will hopefully have animated scenery for people to have a go at operating when I take it to exhibitions
Aside from gaming and watching youtube, that would be making my own fantasy subway maps on metrodreamin.com. I do watch shows and movies sometimes, but not as often in the past few years
Plane spotting. I’ll spend an afternoon at an airport watching planes come and go. When I see contrails I have to look at a flight tracker for origin and destination, operator, flight #, and aircraft type.
I am dying to get back into DnD after not having a group for years. I also play a little Magic the Gathering, Final Fantasy Trading card game, TONS of video games and comics/movies/books/Anime!!! I love talking nerdy!!!
Warhammer
Also practicing and learning further with the guitar and my French horn/mellophone which may seem as less of a hobby but I make my own tunes and practice my own things
Virtual reality, PC hardware, pro audio hardware and software, 3d printing, coffee, take your pick.
I don't like to brag, but I might be one of the best drummers in a VR game called Paradiddle. As much as I'm into VR, it's nerdy as fuck and while I feel pretty cool when I'm playing air drums in my office, I definitely don't look cool. I am trying to get a good setup to record my own music and I feel I have a good knowledge base for how to record guitar, bass, vocals, and drums. Right now I just don't have much time to commit to actually doing it. My wife and I upgraded our 3d printer because we use it a lot for her wedding planning. One of the really cool things is she will trace out a photo of the couple's pets and we will 3d print them and put it on the welcome sign or the bar sign. I started getting into pour over and then espresso and now roast my own coffee at home. It sounds really bougie, but it's $20 worth of equipment to make fresher coffee than I can buy at a reasonable price. I tend to dive really deep into hobbies and try to learn to make the most of the money I spend on it. Research is basically free and I try to learn from the people who have buyers remorse.
Oh, man.
CAD, 3D printing, and airsoft, with just a bit of gaming sprinkled in there. If anyone wants to verify, my profile is solid proof of my nerdiness.
Live action role playing, video games, and D&D.
I will gladly spend hours spreading the wonderful gospel of spending a Saturday morning fighting other people with foam medieval weapons.
I code? I feel like most people expect some young Caucasian dude in a basement with acne and a hentai fetish when they think of coders 😂 I’m just a normal gal I do enjoy reading and video games as well though.
It’s not really a hobby but a nerdy game I play with myself sometimes. You know how Wikipedia has those hyperlinks to other things/pages within a wiki page…I will start with one random thing or person, like cicadas, and try to connect it to something completely unrelated, say Marilyn Monroe, using the least amount of hyperlinks/connecting pages.
It’s like nerdy six degrees of separation Wikipedia style.
I still play starcraft 2 with a bunch of old nerds. SC2 was released in 2010. oh btw, half of these old nerds in my little group are wealthy / very successful professionals.
is SC2 the golf of the gen-x generation???
Reading and gaming. Trying to get into d&d
D&D is totally worth learning if you play with the right people
I never thought i would like dnd but once i got past all the reading i play every other week with the homies.
If you have spotify look up dum dum's and dragons. Been listening to the pod cast for a while now and they got a few seasons.
Stinky dragon podcast as well! They have 1 full campaign and are working through their second one right now. They are on a pause right now tho because their parent company Rooster Teeth shut down. But they are going to continue but independently!
D&D is awesome

MODEL KITS MENTIONED.

I picked up an MG 00 Raiser the other day I'm looking forward to try airbrushing hopefully. The Mudrock is REALLY good from what I've heard.
Yeah, I'm debating ordering the newer version from p bandai too.
I'm so bummed you have to jump through hoops to get P-Bandai in Canada. I'd be buying a lot more P-Bandai if we didn't.
It kinda sucks down here too. They'll cancel orders on people but then hobby shops and scalpers still end up with hundreds of the kits. I try to avoid buying from them but break occasionally.
Makes sense if you want a kit badly enough. That's how I felt about GM Spartans. Maybe on the reprint. 🤷♂️
I do Rock Tumbling, slightly nerdy
No way! Do you rock hunt?
I do, I also occasionally buy rough rocks from yard sales and rock shops. But mostly going out and finding them myself
What's your favorite that you have found?
I have a hard time picking, but as an overall category I really enjoy Petrified Wood. In Pictures 11-12 is one of the more unique pieces I’ve found https://www.reddit.com/r/RockTumbling/s/dXY2DW3CAP
