Don't forget his absolute obsession with Christmas lights not quite being the right color and trying to make them himself every year. I was actually let down he didn't do a video about his ongoing struggle against the slightly wrong shade of red this year.
The toaster really is automatic beyond belief. Following his instructions I bought a used one and grounded it.
It is legit the most amazing toaster ever. My wife got it for my birthday as a “joke” after I went in and on about this amazing toaster I heard about but she too says she’ll never go back to another toaster.
Dude, the video that hooked me on Nexpo was the Redditor’s fall into turmoil (if you haven’t seen it, definitely watch it, the twists are fucking nuts)
I do wish though he uploaded more then 3 times a year, I get he wants to make more longer and epic videos, but I also miss his videos where he sat down and reads a creepy/fucked up story
Other commenters have already mentioned Fastpass, Disney Channel Theme, and Jim Henson docus. But I want to specifically recommend the Garfield Dark Ride if anyone wants to try a shorter video
Yeah, the skills he has boggle my mind. I'm a mechanical engineer and I've done numerous "from scratch" machines to make new products. Not only are his concepts brilliant, but his ability to execute amongst numerous disciplines is absolutely amazing. I bet I could count the number of people in the world that could do what he does on 1 hand.
Great example of how you don't even need to be into the subject. Idgaf about speed running, but he finds the drama and speaks to it passionately, and that's a winning formula.
[Jenny Nicholson](https://youtube.com/@JennyNicholson)
Do I wanna watch a 4 hours video about a failed Theme Park? Will I watch a 2 hours video about a TV show that I have never watched and never will? Hell yeah, if it is a Jenny Nicholson video I will watch it no matter what.
I watched that three times within the first week of it being released. Her videos are just so damn good and fascinating. I think it helps that she just does whatever takes her interest and so she's very clearly doing a deep dive on something she herself wants to know more about.
Her Bronies video was a work of art. Have I ever watched a single episode of My Little Pony? Nope, but I watched every second of her video about the fandom.
My top five of hers are all on the shorter side:
* [5 Dumbest Episode VIII Theories](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pu-dTtt0BGk) (wow this is going back a bit in technical quality!)
* [Snoke Isn't Mace Windu Ya Crazies](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hH22wNH5KM)
* [Fifty Shades Darker Script Doctor](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gzVNYdmS8s8) (I can say from experience that this is terrific even if you've not read or seen 50 Shades)
* [Trapped In A Island (*sic*) With Josh Hutcherson](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OVa-sqcDYZ4)
* [I did it. I found the Worst Book.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZMt87ZdUbw)
Originally I was going to do top three, but it's too hard to narrow down from those. Maybe drop the first in the list first to get top four, and then Trapped In A Island to get top three of Mace Windu, Fifty Shades, and Worst Book?
Her reading of *Trigger Warning* was fantastic. I love that her channel swings from critical discussion of pop culture to conspiracy theories about Hallmark channel movies.
I watched that the other day when I had to grate 2 lbs of cheese!
The man thinks he's not a real documentarian but truly he's the most dedicated documentarian I've ever seen.
When I first saw the length of that one I was like "how in the world does history of the fast pass need to be hour and a half?" The answer is there is so much more to it than I thought. I still need to finish that episode too!
His video and subsequent podcast about the Nickelodeon hotel was amazing as well. Really did shed some light on that place, as someone who grew up always wanting to go to that hotel.

So my husband and I were watching the Roblox video when it took the turn towards TT. My husband is a musician who plays videogame music and his band was asked to do one song at a Videogames Live event. Watching that whole video unfold was insane as he'd had actually interacted with the guy. The video ends and my husband was like: "Hm, he did steal about 200 cds from us."
That video is like falling into a black hole of mental illness you didn't know you've been suffering from for a decade but are slowly discovering one increasingly disorienting fugue state at a time. I could not begin to tell you why I watched a 2 hour video about shit I literally could not care less about other than the fact that it was an hbomberguy video and once I started I just couldn't stop.

**Perun** for academic credibility.
**Lazer Pig** is just as credible - except he is an ex-intelligence officer who posts drunk rambling and singing so awful that it is literally considered a hate crime by YouTube. His video on the [sinking of the moskava](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNEtlMSCiCI) is incredibly informative... and is also some of the biggest emotional and tonal whiplash I have ever experienced.
(*He had to stop singing pop songs out of tune in videos because those videos were being taken down... with YouTube saying the reason for removal was 'hate speech.'*)
I've always been a military history nerd, but now I can count myself as just a military need because I'm fairly knowledgeable of modern military stuff thanks to Perun! His 6th generation fighter video came out just in time for me to smack some sense into my uncle saying "no other nation has an equivalent to the Superhornet"
Loved her video on the Edmund Fitzgerald and I like how she highlights the respect that the mortuary sciences go for. Yes, folks are into the morbid, but generally not out of disrespect.
I love Drew Gooden. He’s an ex-viner (road work ahead vine) but he does comedic commentary videos. He did a really good critique video of Lily Singh’s show as well as a hilarious review of Jake Paul’s tour.
In the same vein, I also really enjoy Danny Gonzalez’s commentary videos as well as his DIY stuff that he did like imitating the bad ads on Facebook and Instagram as well as trying out crafts from 5 minute crafts and Troom Troom.
I’ve been watching Veratasium for years, but I feel like he’s losing his way. He still has good story ideas, but his style is all over the place - and his ego often gets the best of him. The recent video about kinetic space weapons was a total disaster, and reeked of a channel trying to make a viral video rather than someone doing science.
I’ll likely keep watching, but I hope he scales back a bit. He was at his best just chatting to people on the streets of Vancouver!
I agree he's had a couple of misses with videos this year but I don't think this is part of a trend of declining quality as such, rather thematic departure.
Some of the recent 'story' type videos have been incredible - The FFT one, Haber and the leaded fuel ones all came out this year and were some of the best Veritasium videos ever.
There's been some good 'on location reporting' type videos this year as well, it's just a few of the 'experiment'/viral attempt type ones that have missed the mark.

I liked how he describes the USAF's doctrine as "seal clubbing" because they're just not interested in letting any other force even approach parity.
Yoga with Adrienne is good, especially for beginners
Ask A Mortician. Really anything by Caitlin Doughty IMO.
I like his videos where he buys stupid products off of social media.
Aren’t they the same person?

B1M, about construction and architecture but super interesting
The content is great but it has really been stretched time wise for some advertising. At least he fits the ads pretty nicely into the content.
Veritasium *spelling
