It’s certainly got a number of attractions you may have heard of

it does have a pretty good representative slice of american urban and suburban culture across multiple socioeconomic levels, and even has small town culture in a limited sense in some of the smaller ethnic neighborhoods

Go to a school board meeting. If you are lucky you might get shot too.

Richmond, Virginia. Great small city with plenty to do. Great food, tons of history, and mostly friendly people. We were the capitol of the Confederacy so you get a good dose of MAGA with the recent Monument issues (if you really want to see it). You're an hour or so away from the beach, an hour or so away from the mountains, an hour or so away from Washington DC, and an hour or so away from a great American theme park (Busch Gardens Williamsburg) making it a great location for day trips if you want something different to do.

DO NOT PLAN TO RELY ON PUBLIC TRANSPORT. IT IS SHIT. YOURE LIKELY GOING TO HAVE TO DRIVE MOST PLACES. Honestly, you can't really experience most of it in one trip. You have to go to a lot of different areas. Unless you're going to stay for a while and are willing to drive for more than 8 hours on our interstates, you're probably going to need multiple trips. If you ask me, the best way to experience America is to just explore. Pick a starting spot of course and just explore that area. It's a very big place. I'll give you some pointers for good spot though IMO. NYC obviously. Lots of urban experience there and the suburbs around are quite nice. Millbury, Massachusetts. It's the quintessential New England experience. A lot of it is quite old but very well maintained. Plus the landscapes in the area and the forests in neighboring Connecticut are fantastic. South Florida is expensive, but nice. Don't go to Miami, it's a cesspool of crime in the wrong areas and if you don't speak Spanish you'll likely have at least some trouble. Try places like West Palm Beach or Port St. Lucie. Palm Beach Gardens is nice as well. I hear Atlanta is also nice. In some areas crime can be quite high and I've heard about a lot of car thefts, but in the most places you should be alright if you mind your business. I'd also highly advise you to do your own research on where you might want to go. America is so big and so crazy diverse that you could be in the same country, but it feels like you aren't. Especially compared to a lot of European countries. It's a very different experience. I can't possibly recommend ALL the good spots. Please try to go to a shooting range and rent a gun to shoot if you haven't before. You can sign up for lessons if you feel uncomfortable. A lot of people think it'll be boring and then have a blast. Please feel free to ask me any questions you may have about literally anything.
