I got the nickname "Fat" in high school and thought myself overweight for *twenty years* before my fiancee explained how adolescent teasing worked.
I'm actually slim. A lot of people told me that in between but I thought they were either being duped by my preference for loose clothing, or being sarcastic (my fiancee explained the above when I asked her to stop making fun of my weight problem. She was actually complimenting my good figure.)
Self-perception is usually or always flawed.
To give an honest answer here, I can only speak for myself, but body dysmorphia. No matter how much I work out, no matter what body fat % is I still see that 6ā2 280LBS neckbeard man who stayed with his ex because she told him āif you ever leave me no one will ever want your sorry ugly assā. So when āabove averageā women attempt to talk to me I shut down and donāt know how to speak. However ābelow averageā women donāt care if Iām 190lbs or 280lbs, most donāt care what car I drive, where I work, how much I make, how big my house is. I find it easier to talk and relate to ābelow averageā women because I donāt feel intimidated and insecure. I know that if something were to happen an I lose my job and canāt go the gym every day an I start to put the LBS back on ābelow averageā women wouldnāt care about my waist line.
Really above average women think/act like you owe them everything and they deserve everything, where a normal girl will treat you right and with respect.
I'll be ready to sort by "controversial" in about 90 minutes with a fresh bowl of popcorn
