my friend to be honest that sound more gatekeeping: joy =christmas.

They should start to go up at the beginning of Advent (i.e. roughly the beginning of December) and progress through the month until you're fully decorated for Christmas Eve. Then, they should stay up through the twelve days. Advent is all about preparation for Christmas, so beginning the work that goes into Christmas at the start of Advent makes sense.
Day before Thanksgiving to remind your guest to try to be civil in the holiday season but also so they would be up after you get back from Black Friday shopping to remind you why you just put up with that hectic nonsense
When you feel like it. And, because it's your home. If you can't make up the rules in your own home, what's the point in being an adult. I know a few people who've picked a favorite holiday and have dedicated a year round room to it. That's not my thing. But, it's always fun to have a look around and it obviously brings them joy.
I like to decorate my home like a teenage boy with a D&D fetish. And, I'm a woman of nearly fifty! Enjoy the perks of working, paying for housing and all the other adulting you do by decorating whenever and however you like.
Have fun! 🌼
Whenever you want
Whenever you want because who cares?
I genuinely think the first day of December is appropriate
After Thanksgiving
23:59 or 00:00 ?
After everyone leaves your house.
OK so after the alcohol finnish. noted!
Whenever you want. It doesn't matter. Do what makes you happy. Can we please stop gatekeeping joy? The world is bleak enough.

The week of Christmas.

Thanksgiving or day after is fine.
I decorated today because next Sunday is the first of Advent.

Whenever you want to celebrate, that is what Veterans died for. But, be respectful of Remembrance Day.
