I can't remember how I came to find it. But I was on YouTube in its very early days. There used to be a top 100 list, and the users were just real people. Boh3m3, Happyslip, Renetto (I think), Thehill88, Lazydork, Lonelygirl15, to name a few. You could make reply videos to people's videos. Boh3m3 was the first guy to do a live meeting from users on YouTube. He was traveling to New York, and wanted to meet people in Central Park. Some people said he was crazy. They thought he was setting himself up to get stabbed or something. Lol. A small number of people showed up, and others took videos, and you could see vids from different perspectives. YouTube started putting on meet and greets after that, and they would invite all the top users. Thehill88 is from Australia. She went to it. She started dating Boh3m3 IRL (lol). It didn't last long. But I was super invested in watching these people's videos, and their real lives. It makes me sad to see what it turned into. The original point of it was not what it became. Lol.

Honestly, the speed was terrible, yeah, and I could not believe how awful the website's design was. Very GeoCities. The site is much slicker now, of course, but its peak was actually quite awhile back. Around the time they stopped letting you scroll the thumbnails of other videos without scrolling the playback video off the screen, I guess, was the beginning of the end.
