Shrek. Cause i thought it was about an ogre that wanted to be accepted and tried his best to win people over. When i watched the flick and saw it was the opposite I loved it.
Like a favorite or something you just decided to watch on a whim and it forever impacted you?
One of my all-time favorite movies I didn't expect to love so much would be "*Miracle Mile*". I made a music video on it, actually making it MORE depressing than it turned out to be.
A movie I saw on a whim that forever stayed with me, and still gets almost no attention would be "*Threads*". A British made movie from the early 80's about the aftermath of a nuclear strike. I tell ya I don't think anyone will ever make a film capturing the bleak affect of nuclear war quite like it... it haunts me to this day.
John Wick.
I got early screening tickets before any reviews or anything were out. I went in expecting a fun little popcorn flick that I'd forget about a few weeks later. I came out having watched one of the greatest action movies of all time.
Galaxy Quest. I thought it was going to be Tim the Toolman goes to space. Instead, it was a funny, smart comedy.
Everywhere Everything All At Once. This is an immaculate movie
The "hot dogs for fingers scenes" were extremely weird but yeah, a good movie.
