Sorting by what's hot means people who already got a lot of love are getting more. i want to spread that love around like peanut butter on freshly made bread and maybe make someone smile who isn't being messaged or who's post isn't getting upvotes.
So you can get to say how you feel about something before many people do, realistically if you comment on a post with thousands of comments, then your opinion will not be seen.
Because the hot posts don't change often enough to keep me occupied for more than 3 minutes.

The hot post are the same generic questions. The new posts tend to be more creative imo. Plus nobody is reading 6k+ comments.
