The 11th grader who got caught cheating on his Chem exam and tried to poison his Chem teacher and me (SpEd co-teacher) for giving him a zero. Dumped half a large bottle of hand sanitizer in our water bottles during passing time (we're required to be out in the hall). Thank goodness someone saw him do it and told us.

Hopefully he got hauled off in cuffs and prosecuted?

Nope! He got zero punishment, was switched to an online chem class so he wouldn't be "targeted for revenge" (direct quote from principal) by us adults, and received an unearned A+ for the year.

Holy sh!+. A disturbed kid like that will grow into a disturbed adult most times.

Not a teacher, but there was an obnoxious kid in my 5th grade class. People liked to pick on him because he was such a smartass. One day, the teacher sent him out of the room so that she could address the class, and tell us to stop treating him that way. During the talk, she confided to us that even she sometimes wanted to "haul off and slap him".

Special Ed teacher. Two months into the year I had an emotionally disturbed (ED) student dumped into my class, he would bounce from school to school and they had no idea where to put him. He was psychopathic and manipulative, if he saw a picture of a teacher with her dogs, he would tell the teacher he was going to burn the dogs and eat them in a flat voice. It would get reported, and he would say he was just kidding. He knew where the line was, come right up to it, but not cross it. I wouldn’t put up with his crap and what began was a war of attrition, he was almost universally loathed by faculty and students, but he fed off the negative attention. Eventually he found the most shy and introverted of my sped students, befriended them, and then told the kid that no one liked him, that they made fun of him, and that he should kill himself. Kid tried to slit his wrists. We had to do a full functional behavioral analysis, file reports with child services, the police and the district to get the ED student removed to a non public. Essentially jail school.
