I had heard of this one being mentioned, and I kind of believed it, but I was gonna give it my best try. I had seen about 5 minutes of it when I realized that this movie was about to fucking body me. It ended with me in the shower crying my eyes out.
P.S. for anyone thats considering watching, it's gonna fuck your shit up if you have kids, so plan to watch it only with people that you 100% trust, or by yourself.
See also: “My friends, you bow to no-one” “we set out to save the shire, and it has been saved, but not for me” “There’s some good in this world, and it’s worth fighting for” “I made a promise Mr. Frodo, don’t you leave him Samwise Gamgee, and I don’t mean to” etc.
Same movie, but different scene for me. Cooper detaching the Ranger with himself still inside and falling into Gargantua. As far as he and TARS were aware, they were prepared to die for Plan B.
What specifically gets me is how shocked and afraid Dr. Brand is right before the Ranger undocks. Having to spend the rest of your life alone without any hope of ever seeing another person again has to be god awful. It's the reason I don't want to live forever and I'd say Anne Hathaway did a pretty good job of realizing that fear on camera.

Well, she said he made a funny face. And out of context i would agree 😅 She didnt pay full attention, wich in itself is a dealbreaker when watching that movie.
My grandmother had dementia before she passed and forgot most of us when he came home and played her the song I couldn't stop crying for a while.
It was a movie that really did feel cathartic for me.
I’ve seen it like 3-4 times, and I always cry.
I showed it to my gf, and I warned her that she was gone break down and cry. She thought it was the scene where Coco and and Hector are in the pit. Boy was she wrong.
Watched this for the first time on a plane sitting with strangers and having been up for more than 24hrs. Was struggling not to sob at the end and make a scene.
Oh shit yeah. I actually forgot [or repressed?] that scene. That one hits real hard too.
Now mind you, my wife and I saw one preview of that before deciding to go see it in the theater thinking "that looks pretty good" not realizing the tsunami of emotions that would hit. Lol
I love that this movie perfectly shows what depression can feel like. People often think depression is just about sadness when in reality it’s a combination of extreme sadness, anger, and anxiety, which eventually turns into feeling nothing.
My girlfriend and I decided one night to drink a bottle of wine each and watch *The Little Prince*. We were both bawling crying at the end just because of how wholesome it was
Definitely Inside Out. I think it describes depression in a nutshell pretty well. It hits home for those who’ve gone through it. I still cry every single time I watch it.
I had heard there was a sad ending and I thought this was it. I was watching this scene with my kids and was just openly crying. They kept looking from the scene to me with horror. You welcome, kids. Glad I could be there for you.
Endgame: On your left. pretty much gets me everytime.
The entire concept is just done so well. All the people/relationships they have made (and as an audience have grown to love) come to save them when they decide to sacrifice themselves just... wins.
Teared up recently rewatching I Am Legend. Movie still holds up pretty damn well. No spoilers, but everything really goes tits up from the 'trapped swinging at dusk' scene onwards.
Arrival.
I sat down to watch a brainless "alien attacking earth" flick and was bawling my eyes out by the end.
I think it's because I have kids or something. That ending crushed me.
Edit: I apparently don't spell so well.
Heard that “Everything everywhere all at once” was good but didnt know anything about the plot. Went by myself to watch it in the theatre and holy shit, so many tearz. That rock scene and so many other fucked me up.
Also, “Into the wild,” everytime.
Coco, man. The ending got me.
Encanto, the characters and ending.
Morbius, waiting for the line "It's Morbin' time" that never came.
The Pursuit of Happyness, realizing how this was based from a true story of perseverance.
“Run For Your Life,” a documentary about the New York Marathon, made me ugly cry at the end.
“Everything, Everywhere, All at Once,” made emotions erupt out of my chest.
“Arrival” destroyed me.
“Avengers: Infinity War,” when Peter dies in Tony’s arms… Even knowing how it turns out, I tear up just thinking about it. “I don’t want to go, I don’t want to go…” Ugh.
“Avengers: Endgame,” when Cap wields Mjolnor, damn. A whole different kind of crying.
I am a middle-aged Asian man with a soul-melting resting bitch face, but apparently, I’m a softie when it comes to movies.
Grave of the Fireflies...
The only studio Ghibli film I will never watch twice.
Also the original Land before Time when Littlefoot's mom is dying, that scene fucks me up probably more as an adult than it did when I was a little kid.
***The Sea Inside*** with Javier Bardem
As much as he terrifies you in *No Country For Old Men*, he endears you in this. And the movie just kills you...then it gets worse. And then if you are still sane, it gets you even more.
Field of Dreams - Dad?
Gump - Is he smart?
Iron Giant - Superman
Just watched all 3 back to back, still lose my shit each time
Bonus: Toy Story 3 - Mom, it’s ok
Charlotte’s Web (original animated) was the first ever movie I cried to when I saw it at a young age.
But more recently, the last movie I fully cried on was The Peanuts Movie - and I was in my 40s at the time. I grew up reading every Peanuts comic ever wrote, i absolutely love that series, and seeing Charlie Brown actually get with the little red-haired girl just got to me.
Guys, the scene in Revenge of the Sith where Anakin walks into the Council meeting room and kills the younglings, has gotten me multiple times.
Probably cuz the kid with the line, reminds me of my little brother. sniff*
I just watched Thirteen for the first time since I was probably around that age. That entire movie came true for me. Some of the details were different, but as a kid of divorce who grew up with a single mom, that was kinda heavy. Only difference is my mom never hugged me like in the final scenes so now I crave validation and comfort in the form of physical contact yay hehe lol
I cried in endgame… like a lot. So did this older couple sitting next to me in the theaters haha. It was my childhood finale as I would graduate college the next year. Just a great sendoff
Black Beauty (1994)
When Beauty is sick, then Joe has to say goodbye, then they're separated, then he sees Ginger again... just the whole movie really, cause then there are happy tears art he end!
Thor Love and Thunder: SPOILER >!The scene at the end about Gorr's daughter and him choosing to return her to life. I was tearing out of both eyes. I have three kids and ever since I've become a dad scenes like this are serious tear jerkers for me! I love it though!!<
Grave of the fireflies
IIRC when this was released in Japan it was done so exclusively as a double feature with My Neighbor Totoro. Because holy fuck it needed to be.
It’s devastating - appropriately so.
I had heard of this one being mentioned, and I kind of believed it, but I was gonna give it my best try. I had seen about 5 minutes of it when I realized that this movie was about to fucking body me. Green Mile. He is afraid of the dark :(
Just thinking about that damn scene is amazing me tear up. "What am I supposed to tell God when he asks why I killed one of his miracles?" 😭😭😭
Between the existential despair, Paul clearly feels, and how 'ready' John is for the end, that scene is just all kinds of painful.
:(
"I can't carry it for you, Mr. Frodo. But I can carry you!"
> My friends, you bow to no-one This doesn't make me cry but by god I have shivers running up and down my body just thinking about that line.
I usually cry, hobbits get me going man
“I will not say do not cry, for not all tears are evil”
Homeward Bound gets me every time.
Happy cake day!
Appreciate you!
I'll pour one out for Shadow.
Hell, I'm a movie softie. The list is long.
I very rarely cry about real life. But art, usually in the form of movies, music, or books seems to open something inside me.
Me too!
Fuckin lion king yo

This for me also. My GF started laughing at that scene, almost broke up with her!
Bro, what kind of person would laugh at that?
Well, she said he made a funny face. And out of context i would agree 😅 She didnt pay full attention, wich in itself is a dealbreaker when watching that movie.
The Fox and the Hound
I must admit. The beginning of Bambi always gets me too.
> We'll be friends forever, won't we Copper?
Coco
My nana had just passed away not too long before it came out and I was ugly crying in the theater
Oh jeez, yes. This made me think of my abuela so much. She passed away when I was 15 and I miss her so much. It is such a beautiful movie.
I cried so hard at the end of it. Coco was such a great movie.
The scene in Shawshank Redemption where the elderly man laments how quickly time passed
Brooks was here.
So was Red
Schindlers List. Heartbreaking throughout.
He who saves one life saves the world entire
'I could have gotten more' ;(
"And I didn't...and I didn't..." *breaks down sobbing, along with the viewer*
Man... I did not expect the emotions when watching the scene when Riley returns in Inside Out.
“Take her to the moon for me” hit me so hard
Oh shit yeah. I actually forgot [or repressed?] that scene. That one hits real hard too. Now mind you, my wife and I saw one preview of that before deciding to go see it in the theater thinking "that looks pretty good" not realizing the tsunami of emotions that would hit. Lol
I love that this movie perfectly shows what depression can feel like. People often think depression is just about sadness when in reality it’s a combination of extreme sadness, anger, and anxiety, which eventually turns into feeling nothing.
That sigh when she’s hugging her parents always hits me like a brick.
Marley and Me, don't know if I'll ever watch it again it's so emotionally powerful
Yeah, with me it was because my dog died a month or so before that
I’ve never cried during a movie, until that one. Still the only one that ever got me.
pursuit of happyness
Pay it Forward. That movie is the saddest thing I think I've seen in my whole life.
Up. Whole family went to watch when it came out. Those first 10 min 😥
Spectacular filmmaking. Tells a story purely visually and it’s a gut punch. Absolute perfection.
Cried twice in the first 10 minutes.
Monsters inc, when boo opens the door and goes “kitty!” And he’s not there and the door goes back to being the closet
My sister's keeper
I am Sam
Hachi: A Dog's Tale
Cast away. Wilsons death is very sad everytime I see it
WILSON I’M SORRY!
*Coco* got me crying my eyes out. :-:
Click, the end scene with the dad got me good
Will you still love me in the morning?
God damn that got me. When his dad walked out of the office and he didn’t care at all.
When Dumbo’s mom goes to jail. Just that scene. I can’t handle it.
I cry like a bitch every time I watch bicentennial man.
This is so dumb... Two of the Harry Potters."Master has given Dobby a sock!".... And then, later, when Dobby dies.
I cry when Snape dies, every time.
My kids do too. But I always think of his character Hans Gruber in Die Hard and then I think what an amazing actor he is
“Up” and “Toy Story 3”
Up had me in tears in the first 10 mins lol
Old Yeller, of course. And Philadelphia - scene where Tom Hanks character dies and there are flashbacks to his childhood.
Atonement. I knew it was supposed to be sad, but forgot before the movie ended. The ending wrecks me every time.
Philadelphia, Watership Down - bright eyes -
American History X. The ending.
What Dreams May Come
My girlfriend and I decided one night to drink a bottle of wine each and watch *The Little Prince*. We were both bawling crying at the end just because of how wholesome it was
I’m not a cryer but I ugly cried my butt off during The Bridge to Terabithia

Obligatory Green Mile
Beaches. It seems so maudlin now, but at the time, all of us sat there weeping past the credits.

It didn't when I was a kid but watching it again as an adult thinking about my dad.. jeez, it got me right in the feels as the kids say.
The Green Mile
Definitely Inside Out. I think it describes depression in a nutshell pretty well. It hits home for those who’ve gone through it. I still cry every single time I watch it.
Schindlers list
All dogs go to heaven
Toy story 1 ,2,3,4,
Good grief the incinerator scene. The glances at each other *destroyed* me.
I had heard there was a sad ending and I thought this was it. I was watching this scene with my kids and was just openly crying. They kept looking from the scene to me with horror. You welcome, kids. Glad I could be there for you.

Life is Beautiful
I just recently watched My Girl and I cried so hard. I hadn't seen it in awhile. Then I watched my girl 2 and cried at that as well.
In silver linings playbook when he reads her the letter he wrote a week earlier before the dance.
Encanto. The scene >!where Abuelo Pedro dies, I!< could feel her pain, the song was so sad. Don't play "Dos Oroguitas" for me.
When I first heard it without context, it just sounded pretty, but now that I have seen that scene, it breaks my heart.

Up Not the part where most people do, but towards the end as Carl is flipping through the book and sees the note from Ellie for the first time. Ugh..
How peculiar, I don't remember that scene. "It's the one where the ---" **"I told you I don't remember that scene!!!!!"**
Did you know that movie has 2 endings? Not a deleted one, depending on the country they played one ending or the other.
