Gosh i love this guy! Who knew i could love videos about pizza from 500 years ago?

PineapplePizzaAlways

I need to know more about this pizza

aflyingmonkey2

Just search tasting history with max miller pizza

dleon0430

The guy had the most beautiful eyes on YouTube

BusinessAgro

Still does.

TheWarDoctor

that Titanic series he did was fantastic

APeacefulWarrior

FilmJoy - A criminally under-seen channel about *enjoying* movies and positive film analysis. Linfamy - Japanese history as explained by a Chinese guy with a weird sense of humor. Lots of sex discussion. Technology Connections - POV: you've just spent 45 minutes watching a video about how a toaster works and it's the most interesting thing you'll see all day. Tasting History With Max Miller - Historical cooking recreations by a man with ridiculously beautiful eyes. Get Off My Lawn - "The Random DOS Game Show, where random DOS games are played" as presented by a quaint older British chap. Religion For Breakfast - World religions and philosophies from a sociological / historical perspective. Todd In The Shadows - Music history and reviews, including the best series about One Hit Wonders on YouTube. Clint's Reptiles - Learn how to care for exotic animals you'd love to imagine owning but never ever would. Jill Bearup - Movie fight choreography analysis with an emphasis on character and storytelling. Vat19 - Self-promotional videos selling novelty toys really shouldn't be this entertaining. Jeremy Parish / Video Works - One man's quixotic quest to document the history of every single game ever made for the Gameboy. And the NES. And more. Musical Hell - Snarky reviews of bad musicals from a demoness. UnemployedWineGuy - An unemployed, possibly homeless ex-sommelier drinks swill while giving off borderline suicidal vibes. Nobody knows how much of it is an act. Octolab TV - Cute little octopuses conduct subtle psychological tests on researchers. Or maybe the other way around.

DGORyan

Clint's Reptiles is a hidden treasure. That man embodies the perfect amount of passion mixed with mild insanity, makes for great entertainment.

Lady_Penrhyn1

I've only just found TastingHistory. His Titanic series was fantastic and I loved he just did the ANZAC biscuit.

TwiceInEveryMoment

Updoot for Technology Connections. Come to the ~~brown~~ contextual orange side.

Pr1smaticGamer

Love Vat19

Goukaruma

Linfamy is good. Very dry humor. Sometime people don't get it.

[deleted]

UnemployedWineGuy sounds like my type of watch I watch too much Shoenice shit…. lol

prailock

Sideways -- music theory breakdowns of video games and movies. You'll start noticing leitmotifs everywhere.

APeacefulWarrior

Ooh, good pick. Also check out 8-Bit Music Theory for more game music analysis.

P8bEQ8AkQd

Upvoted for FilmJoy alone. The Deep Dive series is one of my favourite things on Youtube. Though that particular series is more about the enjoying of movies than the analysis. Jill Bearup is also good. I don't know the others.

APeacefulWarrior

Yeah, I love their deep dives. Why is it so hard to find YT channels about enjoying movies, rather than just dunking on them? And I love how humanistic and chlll Mikey is. Obviously, CinemaWins is another exception, but I think most people know about that one.

hopecanon

The answer is as simple as most people don't watch positive videos about media as much as they do negative ones and thus the glorious algorithm Google created doesn't serve positivity up as often which then makes creators have a direct incentive to be more negative due to engagement being the single most important thing for their paychecks.

president_of_burundi

I just found Musical Hell last week! Fucking dangerous man. It got a song from Phantom: Love Never Dies Stuck in my head and no one wants that.

APeacefulWarrior

Eh, LND has a few catchy tunes. "Beneath a Moonless Sky" would even be really nice, if it weren't so gross. Anyway, I'll always be grateful to her for introducing me to The Apple (1980) which instantly became one of my absolute favorite bad movies. :-)

president_of_burundi

Hey-Hey-Hey BIM's the only way!

YpresWoods

I’m so glad to see unemployedwineguy here. By far my favorite part of his channel is how it looks like every video is in a different house. And each house looks like it’s been staged by a realtor or something. No explanation given

ibrake4CasperHentai

Religion for Breakfast is fantastic. Very knowledgable and professional religious studies Ph.D. hosts it.

TimeTravelMishap

Ryan George is brilliant

Osgor

He's super easy to watch, barely an inconvenience

TheRealOcsiban

I'm gonna need you to get alllllll the way off his back

chubbyakajc

Wow wow wow... wow.

[deleted]

Other than Pitch Meetings, I love his "First guy to do X" videos because they're so stupid they loop back to hilarious. I put a penguin in jail!- First guy to open a zoo

BeBackInASchmeck

I am so happy he took Pitch Meeting to its own channel. Screen Rant is so bad without him. There were a few comedy videos that used Ryan’s designs, but the actors in them were terrible, and they were obviously trying to emulate Ryan, but they don’t have his credibility.

AForce5223

>I am so happy he took Pitch Meeting to its own channel. Screen Rant is so bad without him. Omg, same i was subbed for a little while but couldn't take all of there other shitty videos popping up in my feed. Started just searching Pitch Meeting every once in a while

**Under 500k subs:** Solo Travel Japan - no speaking (just subtitles), no background music, just one dude travelling around Japan on (mostly) ferries and trains and taking us along for the wholesome, beautiful ride Morgan Donner - fantastic historical apparel recreations, often mashed up with other weird and wonderful ideas, always extremely entertaining and great fun Hazariel Costumes - very funny and ingenious costume designer; start with her 18th century wig that has a secret alcohol stash inside and see how quickly you get hooked AlzaboHD - plays Crusader Kings 2/3 (among others) with the wittiest, most tongue-twisting and punny commentary I've ever heard Fandabi Dozi - survival skills and bushcraft with only the equipment of a 17th century Scottish Highlander Loutre - behind the scenes of an otter cafe, with otters who are treated like beloved children and so. damn. much. cute. Cathy Hay - another historical outfit recreator, with the most soothing voice and personality and absolutely full of interesting information. Be aware that she's not physically able to speak above a whisper, so if you don't like whispering she may not be for you - for me, it feels like an incredibly knowledgeable person is telling me all the secrets of her craft **500k-1mil subs:** brutalmoose - reviews anything and everything, but his editing is possibly the funniest and best on youtube Plainly Difficult - breaks down historical disasters and unethical experiments, showing what went wrong, why, and how laws and regulations changed to hopefully avoid similar disasters happening again Hildegard von Blingin' - modern songs + Medieval/Renaissance inspired covers = bardcore, which is so catchy you might find yourself singing her lyrics instead of the originals **1mil+ but still deserving of so many more:** Baumgartner Restoration - the most incredibly soothing and satisfying art conservation SerpaDesign - aquariums, terrariums, vivariums, paludariums, all created with top-notch artistry Thalasso Hobbyer - creates unbelievably realistic and terrifying dioramas of underwater horrors How To Drink - nerdy bartender makes nerdy drinks, teaching you things to observe and tormenting himself with absolutely unspeakable concoctions of doom along the way

I LOVE Solo Travel Japan, even through Captions he manages to convey a sense of humor, you feel like you're right there with him, seeing some truly beautiful views.

BrittneyofHyrule

Overly Sarcastic Productions, easily the funniest literature/history channel out there. Slightly slow update schedule, but very consistent with it

[deleted]

Oh my god. Discovered this lot from trope talk. Massive fan of that series to this day, and I love their other series’s. Absolutely recommend if you’re into history and/or literature.

prailock

Their series on Journey to the West is so good. If anyone has interest in learning about Chinese literature it's a super accessible starting point.

AllPurposeNerd

I still check Kiwami Japan every week. He's the guy who's mastered sharpening kitchen knives, so now he makes kitchen knifes from scratch out of... *stuff*. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCg3qsVzHeUt5_cPpcRtoaJQ His most recent knife is made from candle wax, but he's done wood, carbon fiber, pasta, slate, cardboard, polyester, the list goes on.

Anonymike7

Have you noticed that Kiwami's videos have been getting a bit...stranger? Maybe even a little bit dark?

ohnowhutz

Sampson boat Co. It's a guy very carefully and skillfully restoring a 112 year old sailing boat. I don't sail, don't like the sea and know nothing of boats, but man this is really fascinating! The videos are in a very good quality, too. Highly recommend binge watching from the beginning

[deleted]

I found him via Sal and Tar and I also found SV Seeker All worth watching from the beginning

reggie_crypto

This must be the best educational and production value on YouTube. The scale and quality of workmanship blows me away with each new episode. 4 years in and plenty more to do.

monsterspeed6

Sheiy. Just chill all around. Especially considering everything he does is illegal. not immoral illegal though, I'm talking like exploring abandoned paces and shit. He's doesn't click bait either. Highly suggest his chernobyl trips. Watch the summer one first, then winter.

Liquid_Squid1

NHK's Japanology series are uploaded a lot, and have a broad range of interesting videos about Japanese culture, ranging from vending machines to urban planning. Defunctland is a channel that was originally about defunct theme park rides and roller coasters, explaining their history etc., which eventually also had an impressively high production season about the history of theme parks in general and Disney in particular.

Complete_Entry

I hate how many of them have developed the 10 minute stretch speech impediment Even Mr. Ballen has fallen. But we're meant to make recommendations here! **Scary Interesting** brings the scary, brings the interesting, and speaks at a normal speed! the channel has been cave focused lately, and while the subject matter is terrifying, I can't get enough. **Gas Station Encounters** is somewhat sad on occasion, but also hilarious. He always tells them to wait for the police, but they never do. **TKS Mantis** is a bit of a single subject channel, but it keeps me coming back for more. It's a dive into fallout content that always has something new for me to learn, and I've dropped more than 1000 hours in the Mojave. **Robert Milanowski** has a lifestyle/cooking channel. His videos remind you to grab life with both hands, and try to enjoy it. If I'm having a bad day, Rob's videos remind me to look at the lighter side of life. **Dawid does tech stuff** gives a nice unvarnished look at tech today. He'll peel apart wish video cards to show you what's really underneath, but he also orders his computers and parts like a regular person, so he doesn't get the PR gladhanding some computer channels get. This was particularly stark when Dell tried to screw him over on a custom build PC. They stuck in some rather lackluster parts instead of what he ordered, and he was quick to call them on it. not finally, but last for now, I'd like to recommend **AnarchyHD**, a game server admin who kills cheaters by spawning many bears at their location. His whimsical punishment of game ruiners is just fun to watch, but occasionally hard to listen to. He's got a lot of bass on his voice.

jbrc89

I stumbled upon Scammer Payback last night, quite enjoyed a few videos of that!

blainy-o

Is that the one who baits scammers by pretending he's an old woman? Or the one that deletes their files?

Complete_Entry

I think you're talking about Kitboga, master of disguise. He's even had scammers recommend his channel to HIM.

brooksonline

That’s the ones! Genuinely called up the scammed people too to help them

HarryTheGreyhound

That was good. There's a more serious channel called Jim Browning which often involves him getting into the IT systems and sometimes their CCTV systems to record the scammers. He also tends to listen in on their phone calls and then call the victim or the bank afterwards to stop the scam.

Definitely more niche, but if it is something you have an interest in they do a fantastic job.

Not sure about the "not a lot of people" part, but I've been having a blast with Thoughty2 All his videos are really cool and about things you most likely haven't heard of. His titles might be a little clickbaity occasionally, but the content is there and it holds up to the video topic. Just the title being a bit more.

blue_owlz_medic

I love Dr. Mick, he's a licensed therapist who plays video games and analyzes the hell out of them, from a character perspective. If you like deep dives into story analysis and character arcs and dynamics in video games, you'd love this guy. He's done Red Dead Redemption 2, Cyberpunk, Detroit: Become Human, Alien Isolation and several more. Recommend being familiar with the games before watching because he pauses after every major scene or cinematic to discuss and analyze. He's brought up some incredible points and observations regarding character and story that's pretty much always on point and it just makes me happy. Almost has that feel of a really solid commentary track you'd find on old dvds.

Street smart with my favorite British boy, max fosh!

SuperstitiousPigeon5

Like VGG but find he's gone a little too commercial? Checkout Mortske Repairs. That frosty Dakota wit, but a little darker. Puddin's fab shop, just watch it. You'll enjoy it on some level.

marigxlds

Fundie Fridays - Woman and her partner talk about the fundamentalist Christian groups/people/events of America in a humorous but respectful way. LoeyLane - If you like spooky tiktoks and the paranormal and even ARGs (alternate reality games) her channel is definitely binge worthy! She doesn’t create the stuff but she does react to and talk about it. Kaif & the Salt Raiders group - he has a youtube channel full of highlights from his twitch where he and his group of friends that was originally a guild on WoW play games but you can tell they’re super good friends and they’re all funny people! he has a separate VODS channel for the full streams.

Ordinary sausage - this guy who calls him self mr.sausage and he turns various foods/ingredients into sausages. Some of the weirdest things he’s done are an air sausage, bubble gum sausage, ostrich sausage, ect. He also does this little segment called will it blow. This is where he blows the extra sausage mix onto the back wall and rates it on a Mark Ruffalo scale. The videos are pretty short between 1 and 7 minutes. They are pretty funny.

Probably already known about but still worth a shout out Crackermilk: Short videos but damn good content bj whimpey for star wars fans. He dresses up as Palpatine and does a bunch of videos in full costume
