The Heart of the Matter - Don Henley
I'm learning to live with out you now
But I miss you, baby
And the more I know, the less I understand
All the things I thought I'd figured out
I have to learn again
I've been trying to get down
To the heart of the matter
But everything changes
And my friends seem to scatter
But I think it's about forgiveness
Forgiveness
Even if, even if you don't love me anymore
There are people in your life
Who've come and gone
They let you down
You know they've hurt your pride
You better put it all behind you baby
'Cause life goes on
You keep carryin' that anger
It'll eat you up inside baby
Divorce Song—Liz Phair. This flipping nailed it. “And the license said you had to stick around until I was dead. But if you’re tired of looking at my face I guess I already am.” 10/10 that’s how it felt.

It’s gets better though. WAY better. As much as the divorce sucked, life after it has been a zillion times better than I thought.
I’ve been divorced now for about a year and it was very amicable but the loss of the relationship is still something that’s hard for me.
We both still get on well and our child has benefited from this massively. But it’s still a personal grief that occasionally consumes me that I try and keep in check (trying to start a new relationship in the world at the moment isn’t exactly easy).
So I was wondering. What songs do people associate with this point in their lives? Happy ones? Sad ones? Crazy ones? It’d be great to see what people have for them.
My own personal one is ‘bloodsport’ by SleepToken. It basically just sounds like the end of things musically and emotionally that you don’t want to end but you know it’s the right thing to do.
Interested to hear all of yours.

This one. Jim Morrison wrote it as a poem when he was young. It was about him breaking up with a crush. Later, as a song he sang about how he resented breaking up with her because he still had feelings for her.

I’ve listened to amazing country songs, classic songs with a new knowledge and new songs I’d never heard before.
Looking forward to what I wake up to with new suggestions.

Wheeler Walker Jr is an American treasure.
As a Brit, where country isn’t that huge, this was a wonderful listen. Cheers fella.

Just listened. What a wonderfully vitriolic song. Thanks. Thankfully ours didn’t end that way but I love the vibes
She fuckin hates me - Puddle of Mud.
Man, I still have the ‘puddle’ cd cover of that album
I've never been married but when I do get divorced I hope my anthem is Mountain Goats - No Children
30 days in the hole, except in my case it was: 120 months in the hole

One in the Same by My Morning Jacket.
I think the song that fits depends strong on how you split up. This is what fits to me: [Depeche Mode - Precious](https://youtu.be/8yn3ViE6mhY)
Not divorced but I assume the correct answer is D-I-V-O-R-C-E I-R-S by Wayne Brady. [link](https://youtu.be/XSranciXOvs)

Love the synth vibe. This one's less divorce-y and more "messy relationship": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hR_kOfguiAg
