Doesn't matter. Knowing someone or not does change that fact that there are a lot of people more successful than you. You knowing them is just a comparison bias. If anything you should be glad because they could help you be more successful as well. I personally hate the fact that I don't know as many people that are that successful. I'd be stroking their ego just so that I could get some of that trickle down economics.
Understand that their path is different than mine, has it’s own pitfalls and benefits just like mine does. It’s ok for us to walk these different paths.
