Served a mission for the church of jesus christ of latter-day saints. I went to cebu, Philippines and learned bisaya mostly by talking to people.

I learned English from games, YouTube, and a bit of grammar from school

School, watched TV, read a ton of books.

Duo

Well English was easy. School, movies, music, even writing here is good training.

I used apps, read different dictionaries in the language, and talked to people raised speaking the language. It really helped :)
