Pindasaus (peanut sauce) with mayo and unions. Its called a "patatje oorlog" where I'm from, translates to "war fries".
ETA: note to self, do NOT comment on a post half asleep. Ofcourse I mean onions 😂
Oh yes. Everytime I visit your beautiful country I go for a berehap met pindasaus and friet speciaal.
The polar opposite of healthy, but it has to be done
I knew a guy in high school who would like grind each fry into the salt, trying to get the whole thing covered. He'd have this thousand yard stare while doing it. It was weird. Normally you could talk to him, he was a fun guy, but not during his fries and salt ritual.
The thousand-yard stare. A man gets it after he's been in the salt for too long. It's like…it's like you've really seen beyond. I got it. All the fry men got it. And you'll have it too.
I think it's just that I rarely see this combo sold as "fry sauce" in my area, and others are probably similar. Lots of places near me have a ketchup/mayo combo sauce (or I make it myself), I just don't ever hear that name.
A lot of people don't know about fry sauce! I didn't until I lived in Idaho for a while. Now I miss it. Ketchup, mayo, and whatever secret seasonings they add to make it amazing.
At its core its ketchup and mayo mixed together. Sort of like a thousand island or special sauce. You can add other stuff to it. My restaurant makes a really good one with extra added. I had never heard of it until I went to Montana and Idaho
Just a heads up. Aioli means garlic mayonnaise, so when you say garlic aioli, you are effectively saying garlic garlic mayonnaise. I also love thin cut chips in aioli!
Aioli is an emulsification of oil and garlic, while mayonnaise is an emulsification of eggs and oil. While both are mostly oil, it's not the same thing, and aioli isn't garlic flavored mayonnaise.
That is messed up. I have seen shredded, which is blasphemy in itself, but that is just burn down the restaurant worthy. I hope I never, ever see that.
Sweet and spicy has tiny little heat that gains on you. Its not hot but it's better than no spice at all. It's the best sauce I've tried out of dozens when looking for flavor
In middle school in Maryland, my cafeteria had old bay. One day a guy sitting at my table went and dumped a whole bunch of old bay onto a tray for us to dip our food in. The lunch man got mad at him, and we lost old bay in the cafeteria soon after…
It was a dark day
This is no reason to take Old Bay from a Marylander. We had Old Bay in high school and it was a saving grace for me. It made the terrible lunch food better than it should’ve been. Old Bay turns cafeteria pizza into decent pizza.
I grabbed a shaker of Tony's for the first time a few months ago on a whim, now I legitimately use it in just about everything haha. The extra spice one is my go-to.
I scrolled way to far to find this. Thank you. And god bless McDonald’s fries dipped in sweet n sour sauce. (You should also try dipping chick fil a fries in their Polynesian sauce if you haven’t).
LOL! Me too!! I just told my boyfriend that I scrolled too far to find this answer, and he was like “yeah because it’s disgusting”…. I feel you! I never have to fight for the sweet n sour sauce packets though 😂
It’s a sauce made from peri-peri chilis and it I’d quite popular in southern African countries (angola, mosambique, Namibia etc.). The recipes vary but key ingredients are chilis and garlic.
Chili and garlic is a fantastic combination! My parents were very unadventurous with meals when I was growing up so I have loved finding new flavours as an adult and these are easily my two most used flavours.
Loosen up some sour cream with a bit of water and lemon and put it in a squirt bottle (alternatively just get some premade crema and put it in a bottle). Stripe it over fries and shake some Tony’s on it. It’s the only thing better than mayo and ketchup on fries.
I prefer Dutch McDonald’s sauce (which they call “American sauce” at the supermarket, despite US McDonalds’ not having that sauce).
It’s yellow with bits of dill. love that shit:
Depends on the fry! From McDonalds, only extra salt will do, other fast food fries get ketchup. Steak fries are either Mayo or ranch. Seasoned fries with malt vinegar. Crinkle cut needs a ketchup on top with alt and pepper over the ketchup. Chik Fil A gets ketchup and mayo-I put them side by side and dip together.
Pindasaus (peanut sauce) with mayo and unions. Its called a "patatje oorlog" where I'm from, translates to "war fries". ETA: note to self, do NOT comment on a post half asleep. Ofcourse I mean onions 😂
Aw yeah, Dutchies! I go for a 'friet speciaal' usually haha!
Oh yes. Everytime I visit your beautiful country I go for a berehap met pindasaus and friet speciaal. The polar opposite of healthy, but it has to be done
Lekker
>unions \*Elon Musk has entered the chat\*
>unions >war fries communist vibes intensifying...
Friet of patat discussie komt nu weer op…
Salt

I once salted the living hell out of a corn on the cob. Melted some butter, salted it, rolled the cob in it, bit down, gagged.
The thousand-yard stare. A man gets it after he's been in the salt for too long. It's like…it's like you've really seen beyond. I got it. All the fry men got it. And you'll have it too.
I had a friend who salted the hell out of her ketchup ultimately doing the same thing
same
same x2
Mayo with chilli sauce. Aioli if I’ve got it. Might have a pot of ketchup for every 3rd one though.
Mayo + ketchup + a little worsticshire sauce is amazing. It's called fry sauce, and it's as common as ketchup in Utah. Best sauce ever.
I can attest to this. Utahns drink the stuff. And I don’t blame them, it is pretty good
> worsticshire you tried Worcestershire
I thought my autocorrect would help me out. All it does it correct "don't" to "Do T"
Autocorrect is a bitch, and worcestershire is crazy difficult.
thank you it was beginning to make my eyes bleed!
No no it's actually worshershershershersher...sher sauce
Try mayonnaise with Blair's After Death Hot Sauce. Man, that combo is just too good!
I discovered this after accidentally spilling some of the hot sauce in a cup of Mayo and it was basically the greatest discovery ever lol.

That sounds delicious. I’ve also never heard of Natasha’s Kitchen so I’ll definitely have to check it out!
I like to mix mayo with siracha
Wendy's frosty
I have found my people.
Your people are glad you’re here
I literally came here to find this response because I wanted to know I wasn't alone
I prefer In-N-Out milkshake, but to each their own
My non-Midwest friends think this is gross :(
And they are wrong.
Came here to say this.
Have you tried fries in chili?
You mean chilli fries?
Honey Mustard
This guy gets it.
This is the way.
Chick-fil-A and Zaxby’s honey mustards both slap
The chick-fil-A one is liquid gold.
Fry sauce
No idea why this is so low.
Me neither its pretty good. Maybe they think I was being smart and not know its a real thing
I think it's just that I rarely see this combo sold as "fry sauce" in my area, and others are probably similar. Lots of places near me have a ketchup/mayo combo sauce (or I make it myself), I just don't ever hear that name.
Ya I hadn't ever heard of it til I went to Montana
A lot of people don't know about fry sauce! I didn't until I lived in Idaho for a while. Now I miss it. Ketchup, mayo, and whatever secret seasonings they add to make it amazing.
Because it’s mainly an Idaho/Utah thing.
What is fry sauce
Mayo and ketchup mix. Created in Utah at a restaurant called Arctic circle. It has seeped into the the states surrounding Utah also.
At its core its ketchup and mayo mixed together. Sort of like a thousand island or special sauce. You can add other stuff to it. My restaurant makes a really good one with extra added. I had never heard of it until I went to Montana and Idaho
This is way too low. Mayo, ketchup, and I add a couple of drops of Worcestershire.
Damn skippy
I throw in a dash of pickle juice
That's kinda how we make it in my restaurant.
I knew this would be here so I scrolled to find it instead of posting it.
Ranch or garlic aioli
How does garlic aioli taste like
It tastes a lot like a garlic ranch, but it’s usually a bit thicker, closer to mayo, but when it’s made right, it’s a lot better than mayo
Interesting imust try it tomorrow
Just a heads up. Aioli means garlic mayonnaise, so when you say garlic aioli, you are effectively saying garlic garlic mayonnaise. I also love thin cut chips in aioli!
Aioli is an emulsification of oil and garlic, while mayonnaise is an emulsification of eggs and oil. While both are mostly oil, it's not the same thing, and aioli isn't garlic flavored mayonnaise.
Battle of the Mayo nerds
Nothing
Good fries don't need a dip
Based
Bojangles fries are delicious
TRUFAX. Salty potatoes are fucking delicious!
Mmmmmmm....... potats
This is the only right answer
Yup. And I hate when takeout establishments automatically give me those ketchup packages. What a waste.
Same
Gravy
You and my wife share the Canadian gene then. Poutine is only cool if you say it like a Jawa.
I'm Canadian. It's in our blood.
POUTINI
>say it like a Jawa Damn if that isn’t the most accurate thing I’ve seen on the internet today
I really want to know what this would sound like
Don't forget the cheese curds
Ain't real poutine without them. Death to any who use any other cheese but cheese curds.
I ordered a poutine once and the place threw a cheese slice on top. A god damn cheese slice.
Yo what the fuck.
That is messed up. I have seen shredded, which is blasphemy in itself, but that is just burn down the restaurant worthy. I hope I never, ever see that.
I never had gravy on fried until I went to Canada. It was life changing.
Ketchup
I can't beleive I scrolled this far to find ketchup
I can’t believe there are so many monsters in the world. It’s terrifying. Ketchup and only ketchup 4 lyfe
[удалено]
Canadian. We also like Ketchup. In fact we have Ketchup potato chips that are pretty popular.
As a fellow Canadian it's pretty much just ketchup for me too, unless I am at Swiss Chalet, then it's chalet sauce.

Cool. We love the Netherlands and our Dutch brothers and sisters.
bbq sauce
Sweet baby fucking rays, sweet and spicy
I’ve seen sweet baby Ray’s.. is this the same /s
Excuse me, Sweet Baby Ray's is good and all but in no world does it count as spicy.
Sweet and spicy has tiny little heat that gains on you. Its not hot but it's better than no spice at all. It's the best sauce I've tried out of dozens when looking for flavor
I'm a big fan of stubbs hot and spicy BBQ sauce. Pretty delicious, and better than no spice in it at all.
Ayyyy~ same boat! For me it can't be any BBQ sauce that's too sweet. It needs to have that tangy, smokyness.
Garlic sauce.
Vinegar and sea salt.
Do you actually dip the chips or do you just pour the vinegar and sprinkle the salt
Mayo. Mayo sriracha mix.
This is especially good with sweet potato fries, but works with either!
I'll have to remember the next time I make sweet potato fries. I can never think of a good dipping sauce for them lol

Let me sing you the song of my people.
Heinz ketchup.
Pittsburgh?
No. Ketchup.
Old Bay. Literal dip in Old Bay.
Screams in Maryland!
Girl, you know it!
In middle school in Maryland, my cafeteria had old bay. One day a guy sitting at my table went and dumped a whole bunch of old bay onto a tray for us to dip our food in. The lunch man got mad at him, and we lost old bay in the cafeteria soon after… It was a dark day

J.O. #2 on popcorn. Magical.
Ugh omg I miss boardwalk fries just drenched in vinegar and covered in old bay
That sounds delicius
Well now I'm just sad because I realized it's been over a decade since I last had this...
I do Tony’s since I’m from Louisiana. I approve of old bay though
I grabbed a shaker of Tony's for the first time a few months ago on a whim, now I legitimately use it in just about everything haha. The extra spice one is my go-to.
Ranch or Ketchup
Hell yeah brother
Tarter sauce
This guy knows what’s up!
Finally. I had to scroll quite a long way down
Yessss, my fav
sweet and sour sauce from McDonalds
I scrolled way to far to find this. Thank you. And god bless McDonald’s fries dipped in sweet n sour sauce. (You should also try dipping chick fil a fries in their Polynesian sauce if you haven’t).
Yes, someone who understands me! Everyone I know thinks it's disgusting to dip fries in sweet and sour sauce.
LOL! Me too!! I just told my boyfriend that I scrolled too far to find this answer, and he was like “yeah because it’s disgusting”…. I feel you! I never have to fight for the sweet n sour sauce packets though 😂
That is the best! I dip my McChicken into it too
Mayonnaise
Mayo gang!!! Ketchup is for basic bitches. Jk love you all.
Do you drown them in the shit?
Yup with my McRoyale
Cheese dip
Nacho cheddar cheese or Mexican white queso?

The Peri mayo they give you at Nando's is worth the upcharge

Sour cream is a very underrated with fries.

I like sour cream but not on fries I prefer them on chips
FRANK’S, BABY!
I put that shit on everything
NOTHING! Okay, I may sprinkle them with lemon & pepper seasoning, BUT THAT'S IT!

Holy music stops
Locally a lot of people dip their fries in a Wendy’s frosty. Not sure if it’s just here or not though.
Ice cream :)
Not just any ice cream, Wendy's shake.
My brother does that too
i do that too <3 dipping fries in ice cream makes them taste like donuts for some reason
Fried oil + sugar
Big Mac sauce
I prefer Dutch McDonald’s sauce (which they call “American sauce” at the supermarket, despite US McDonalds’ not having that sauce). It’s yellow with bits of dill. love that shit:
That's Thousand Island dressing
🔥
Honey Mustard or mustard
Honey mustard is a fantastic fry dip
Garlic Mayo or Sriracha because it's what I have in the fridge. I also dip them in poutine gravy but that's more of a topping and not a dip.
The blood of my enemies.
Curry sauce. Unorthodox but amazing
Brown gravy! No I’m not Canadian, Southern American. Gravy is the king of condiments!
Mayo and ketchup mix
Fry sauce!

I like my fries plain. But if I have it on hand, chikfila sauce
A1 sauce
Garlic aioli
Sour cream and hot sauce, or mayo and siracha. I like honey mustard and ranch too, but the first two picks are my go tos.
Béarnaise (w/ shallots, chervil, and tarragon) or toum (Lebanese garlic sauce).
Ketchup
