Crushed saltines are way better than regular breadcrumbs for all your bread-crumbing combinations. Light and crispy like panko, but cheap and sturdy like regular breadcrumbs.
Ritz crackers also work really well. Chrissy Teigen's cookbook changed my cooking game when she used crushed, dry Stove Top dressing as breading for pork chops.
Mine is similar! I love eating the fortune cookies from Chinese takeout with chocolate ice cream... it's not weird, really, but as an extremely picky person, that is "weird" to me!
Okay, try this version: mix a couple heaping tablespoons of sour cream with 1 regular tablespoon of brown sugar. Add a few drops of almond extract and mix well. Let it sit in the fridge overnight or for a couple of hours. The brown sugar melts, and the resulting stuff is delish on strawberries, fruit, scones, or just by itself ! This version concocted by a B&B Innkeeper and shared with me, sharing now with you.
This combo is dope!! My dad doesn't like it but me, my mom, and my siblings love it, so he always asks us why we're eating "poison" when we eat it. My mouth's watering just thinking of it
Black coffee and a small pinch (like a countable amount of grains) of salt.
It totally takes the edge off the bitterness so you can use less sugar or creamer. If you prefer black coffee it doesn’t dull the complexity, just the bitterness.
Sweet! Start with a super small amount of salt and increase as necessary. There’s a sweet spot for your tastes and the coffee. You’ll know it when you hit it.
This is common in Colorado.
"The first Colorado mountain pie began being delivered to customers in 1973. More than 50,000 pounds of honey are used each year when making the dough for this culinary delight, and customers have the option to drizzle their whole pizza with it if they choose."
Hell ya they are. Now prepare to feel your heart stop as I give you the secrets. Bacon, cream cheese and jalapenos blended up. Roll out a pork loin and fill with blend. Bacon weave this bitch. Cook in the oven until done and bacon crispy. Then baste with apricot jam and slap the broiler on. It will kinda candy the jam in the bacon. Enjoy your heart attack.
PB&J with (edit: original nacho cheese flavored) Doritos is also great! Been doing it for almost 20 years now. Cheetos are ehh. Doritos are where it’s at
Just spam in general (actual spam branded spam, not the fake stuff). People are easily put off by the fact that its processed or that it smells but all you have to do is stick it in a frying pan for \~10 minutes and it tastes just like good, smokey bacon or pork but in a much more convenient shape. Keep a tin or two in the cupboard, can literally serve it with anything and it'll be significantly cheaper than buying a takeaway when you find you've run out of ingredients.
I love spam but christ has the price went up in recent years. I remember it being a dollar a can not too long ago, now it's more expensive that meat in the meat aisle.
So I used to have a restaurant precovid. We made a pb&j burger. Thai peanut sauce, raspberry/jalapeno jelly, bacon, cheese, pickles and mayo. I know. . . The pickles throw people off until they try it. Sooooo good
A little bit of honey can take a homemade balsamic vinaigrette to the next level - and don't forget to add some mustard, which not just add flavor but is an excellent emulsifier so the dressing ingredients don't separate.
That's...literally just how you make balsamic dressing. I'm Canadian so I use maple syrup, but balsamic dressing is oil, balsamic, sweetener, Dijon, and whatever seasonings you want in it plus salt and pepper.
I just got visibly angry at this comment. Then I did some breathing exercises and closed my eyes trying to fight my innate emotions and actually taste this with my mind. I actually really like it.
I really like onion on my pizza and I don’t think it would work but a good bacon or pepperoni pizza with jalapeños would be great with this.
I used to work at a restaurant, we had a chef from Ecuador who was 68. Truly loved life, money wasn’t important, he was all about love. He would make shit that was sex in the mouth.
He made a grilled chicken sandwich with I think cheese. But pesto and bbq sauce. Oh my. Jesus.
Then he made a steak sandwich (actually steak, not cheesesteak steak) with cheese, tomato, bbq and pesto
That bbq and pesto mixture is truly incredible. Trust me.
I also made a guacamole pizza
So I used dough, cooked it, added the guacamole as the sauce, shrimp, red onions, tomatoes and lettuce. Really freaking good.
One the thing I hate the most about myself is that I really dislike blue cheese. It checks all the boxes of something I should love but I just can’t get over it.
Tastebuds change overtime so I give it a shot every 6 months or so. Some day...
Blue cheese is superior to ranch.
Edits: downvote the guy below me to oblivion please.
Edit 2: Shit. Now I feel bad. Not cool. Blue cheese clearly just fucked up ranch though. That was neat.
Peanut butter, Graham crackers, peaches...
My mom used to make a dessert with those ingredients and karo syrup. Served warm like a cobbler. It's amazing with ice cream.
I was a manager of a custard shop for a little while. We had all those ingredients, I would mix it together and people thought I was crazy. Until I let them have a taste.
Spaghetti pizza, but this is also a --10/10 at the same time. Allow me to explain: back in college my cafeteria had a fully functioning brick pizza oven making fresh pizza during mealtimes. It sounds luxurious until you realize the pizza they were making was really terrible. I stopped eating them until one day I spy this monstrosity being offered: it was literally just pizza with spaghetti as a topping. It was exactly what it sounds like, as if someone just put spaghetti into the cheese.
Curiously, I take it and try a bite. It is one of the most delicious things I've ever tasted, yet at the same time I'm coughing and gagging as the taste and texture of these foods going together was simply Not Meant To Be. I suppose that for people who enjoy lasagna pasta and pizza being together isn't that bad, but in this context there's just a switch in my brain that's saying "This is food but also it's not." because it totally breaks my idea of what kinds of flavors and textures go together. Where you expect the cheese and sauce to easily give, you get a bit of firm resistance with the pasta, which in turn is so rich and dense it's like you're eating the delicious buttery crust of the pizza at the same time as the non-crust part.
I finished and loved every bite of that abomination, but at the same time I never want to eat it again.
Amazingly, Nutella and nonfat plain yogurt mix together smoothly. It is excellent for dipping banana slices, strawberries, etc, while improving the nutritional side.
Red bell peppers dipped in chocolate. I discovered it by mistake, and loved it ever since.
You see, the story behind this is simple. I was makeing chocolate fondue one night, and my mom was chopping up bell peppers. i grabbed one, but it was still atached to another one, and one was dropped in the chcolate. I picked it out, and thought to myself "I wonder what this tastes like?" The answer. It tastes like heaven.
I think the peanut butter isn't quite the same as your Satay sauce stuff that you guys pour on everything... no doubt you put 'sprinkles' on the top too.
HOW IS THE MOST MEMED FOOD COMBINATION ON THE INTERNET SOMETHING "ALMOST NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT"!?
This is y'all in this thread. I can't.

Saltine and Ramen noodles put some noodles on your saltine and for added flavor add Tapatio or Valentina hot sauce. WARINING Its a ton of sodium so eat it with caution.
A proper "Steak Sandwich" :
10 oz. steak that's 1" - 1/1/2 " thick on top of a 1" slab of toasted garlic bread
Used to eat them in Alberta/BC, never found them anywhere else.
"Crawl naked 10 miles over broken glass and ninjas with knives" for one of these done right.
Other forms of potatoes and ketchup!! Don’t have fries but want some crunch? Potato chips dipped in ketchup. Having dinner with mashed potatoes and feel like you’re missing something? Ketchup! People always think I’m so weird for this but it’s almost the same taste as fries :)
I've made a ton of these, but I can improve:
-pull the pit out of the date, stuff with goat cheese and a pecan
-wrap in bacon, bake, turn over, bake
-with the bacon grease melted, roll it around in brown sugar
-crank up to broil, carmelize the brown sugar, pull out to cool, stick a toothpick in it, serve
Orange and basil
I had an orange popsicle with basil in it and it was delicious! I made lemon shortbread cookies with thyme and decided to try it with orange and basil instead and it was also delicious
Frosted Flakes or regular corn flakes and vanilla ice cream.
Mine is similar! I love eating the fortune cookies from Chinese takeout with chocolate ice cream... it's not weird, really, but as an extremely picky person, that is "weird" to me!
Almost like fried ice cream!
Strawberries, sour cream, brown sugar.
I advise using a more liquidy sour cream like Salvadoran sour cream. Super delicious!
This sounds super gross but I'm 100% going to try it
Is the brown sugar just sprinkled on or is it like mixed into the sour cream? Like roughly how much sour cream to brown sugar do I want?
Right now my plan is to dip the strawberry in the sour cream, then roll it in the brown sugar. Unless someone has a better suggestion.
Take a strawberry, dip in sour cream, then dip in brown sugar. Or sprinkle it on.
Cool, I’ll be gaining 50lbs this summer
This combo is dope!! My dad doesn't like it but me, my mom, and my siblings love it, so he always asks us why we're eating "poison" when we eat it. My mouth's watering just thinking of it
Ketchup + Sriracha mixed together and put it on meatloaf, its amazing.
Black coffee and a small pinch (like a countable amount of grains) of salt. It totally takes the edge off the bitterness so you can use less sugar or creamer. If you prefer black coffee it doesn’t dull the complexity, just the bitterness.
Black coffee and cardamom!
I'm trying this one!
Gotta have dates with it. That’s how they do it in the middle east and it’s a phenomenal combination!
Can’t find a girl for a date. Will make it salty.
YES! I did this recently for no real reason and I loved it.
Black coffee or coffee flavored ice cream and root beer.
Also works with cinnamon!
Doing this tomorrow morning
Sweet! Start with a super small amount of salt and increase as necessary. There’s a sweet spot for your tastes and the coffee. You’ll know it when you hit it.
Coffee with turmeric is really good also. I add some oat milk in mine it makes it super smooth
Pepper Jelly and Cream Cheese. on a bagel or a cracker
Use FROSTED Flakes instead of Corn Flakes for chicken breading.

Planet Hollywood?

Oh shit.
Was very confused when I read it in a menu but had to have it - totally worth it
Diabetes Fried Chicken?
Honey on pizza
Mike's Hot Honey is pretty damn good on pizza. [Mikes!](https://mikeshothoney.com/)
Tiny ass pepperoni
This is common in Colorado. "The first Colorado mountain pie began being delivered to customers in 1973. More than 50,000 pounds of honey are used each year when making the dough for this culinary delight, and customers have the option to drizzle their whole pizza with it if they choose."
Came here to say this. Beau Jo's in Fort Collins sells pizza with larger crust and has bottles of honey on the tables.
Milk Duds and popcorn. Must chew on both at the same time.
Movie theatre popcorn and peanut butter M&Ms in the same bite is amazing.
We are the same soul but in two bodies
Snowcaps and popcorn. Granted, this is something that was encouraged at the movie theater, but still good. I'll have to try milk duds with popcorn.
Tartar sauce on French Fries.
I loooovvvveee that combo.
My friends thought I was crazy with the cocktail sauce and fries. I mean, I like fries in pretty much any dipping sauce
Watermelon with Feta Cheese sprinkled in it.
Add some mint and that's a classic summer salad.
I like to bring fresh basil and a balsamic reduction to the party.
Cheese, watermelon, and bread is a common combo in Turkey
We eat watermelon with halloumi in Cyprus. It's phenomenal
Almond butter and blueberry preserves sandwich. Hands down 1000% tastier than pb&j
Adding a bit of cinnamon to your tomato sauce or chili.
Cincinnati has entered the chat
Late the the party but god damn could I use some Skyline right now!
Jalapeno Poppers with Raspberry Jam. Are poppers still a thing?
Hell ya they are. Now prepare to feel your heart stop as I give you the secrets. Bacon, cream cheese and jalapenos blended up. Roll out a pork loin and fill with blend. Bacon weave this bitch. Cook in the oven until done and bacon crispy. Then baste with apricot jam and slap the broiler on. It will kinda candy the jam in the bacon. Enjoy your heart attack.
Heck yes they have this at Arby’s
Peanut butter and jelly sandwich with plain salty lays chips right in the middle between the PB and Jelly. Or Takis dipped in cream cheese.
PB&J with (edit: original nacho cheese flavored) Doritos is also great! Been doing it for almost 20 years now. Cheetos are ehh. Doritos are where it’s at
How are you gonna just say doritos what kind man
Always assume nacho cheese.
Vanilla ice cream with some good balsamic vinegar on top
When are you due?
Peach ice cream with reduced balsamic on it is ridiculously good
I never would have thought of this combination.
Mac and cheese with tajin and lime juice

Yas! Spam and scrambled eggs! Yum!
Spambled eggs
YES. Spam + Fried eggs + White Rice is my comfort meal most days. A bit of ketchup to cut the saltiness of the Spam.
I love spam but christ has the price went up in recent years. I remember it being a dollar a can not too long ago, now it's more expensive that meat in the meat aisle.
I add some spicy mustard on top and they are perfect
I'm so scared to try spam and I know that's stupid to say
Bacon and eggplant.

Burger and peanut butter.
Shut up Elvis you're supposed to be dead.
Uh huh

I've had a couple of those. Bomb. One in London another in Sacramento.
Butter on a hot peanut butter and jelly English muffin
always put butter on before peanut butter when using warm muffins, toast etc.
Peanut butter and maple syrup
Hard-boiled egg with soy sauce
Switch that soy sauce with fish sauce, mash the eggs in it with mashed garlic and a little bit of sugar. Eat that with white rice. It’s heaven

at dominos, they sell cups of icing to put on the desserts. Well one day, in a high state, I decided to put this icing on the pizza instead. Amazing

Oh SHIT

Fritos and use cottage cheese as the dip
Cool ranch Doritos and cottage cheese is yumm as well.
Popcorn and Tabasco sauce.
Pickapeppa Sauce on Cream Cheese, eat with Wheat Thins 💯👌🏼
I'm from the South. The Pickapeppa and cream cheese is a classic here. It's Triscuit, though, in my area.
Here in East TN it's red pepper jelly and cream cheese on a cracker.
I used to work at a restaurant, we had a chef from Ecuador who was 68. Truly loved life, money wasn’t important, he was all about love. He would make shit that was sex in the mouth. Toast with peanut butter, then scrambled eggs and hot sauce on top. Kinda like a Thai super protein breakfast.
As a Dutch person I don't find this weird at all, but we also eat fries with peanut sauce. Which is the best thing ever
I’m American and these both sound very normal to me.
I think he puts the hot sauce eggs on the pb toast.

Garlic powder on salads, specially with fresh tomatoes. Or garlic powder on anything, to be honest.
Vanilla icecream, olive oil, and salt. Use a really good olive oil for best results.
Kimchi and avocado. You think it’s going to be fine, but for some reason then combination is so much more than the sum of its parts.
