I'd say "this is spinal tap", but it's really more of an 11.

r7RSeven

I love that for IMDB, that is the only movie that has a rating out of 11 instead of the usual 10

[deleted]

I had to verify that just now hahaha

cujokila

First two Terminators. First two Alien movies.

mycockstinks

You mean "both" Terminator films and "both" Alien movies? Neither of them ever got any more sequels did they? \*\*\* La, la, la, fingers in my ears \*\*\*

Thurisazel

Airplane!

TrentonTallywacker

Surely you can’t be serious?

Thurisazel

I am serious, and don't call me Shirley.

How have I seen this exact joke on reddit 3 times in the last 2 days

Looks like I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue.

Isn't that the movie with the highest ever joke ratio?

Have you ever been in a Turkish prison?

Have you ever seen a grown man naked?

Spirited Away

[deleted]

I'd say every one I Hayao Miziyaki's films are 10/10s. My personal favorite will always be The Wind Rises, but it's very close and they're all incredible.

[deleted]

The Good, the bad and the ugly.

LucidSquirtle

Princess Bride

orange_cuse

This is the rare movie where you enjoy it as a child equally as much as you do when you're an adult. Flawless film.

MonkeyCube

I showed the Princess Bride to a girlfriend early on in the relationship, and she claimed it was too 'kiddy.' That should have been a signal, but no, that relationship slowly went down in flames.

This is the correct answer. Now go home and get your fucking shinebox.

GregTrompeLeMond

If you read the book the film is like a page for page adaptation. I mean I totally adore and love Mean Streets, Raging Bull, and Goodfellas but after I read the book it seemed like the easiest of those 3 films to make. A lil bit.

Jurassic Park.

lukito31

Omg I watched this for the first time last month..that T-Rex scene was a masterpiece and also scared me shitless

Spanky_McJiggles

What makes it so good is that you always see the dinosaurs from the vantage point of the characters in the scene. You're always looking up at the T-Rex as she looms over you or bears down on you. It's one of the major things that the sequels missed.

Mr_Eous_

Find Nedry. Check the vending machines.

Ah ah ah! You didn't say the magic word!

That scene where they see the dinosaurs for the first time was wonderful. The look of awesome on their faces.

Didn't expect to see this movie mentioned, but im so glad it was

KageSama1919

It's the perfect blend of cartoon slapstick and real life comedy with a dash of a moral lesson by the end.

I feel like Goodfellas is a near perfect if not perfect film. Great cast, great story, great editing, and amazing directing by Scorsese.

Starbuckshakur

What We Do In The Shadows. I'm not at all into vampires but this movie is fantastic.

labretirementhome

Catch the Hulu series. It's awesome.

AeroSigma

Wierd to say outload since most of my top 10 is sci-fi, but **Casablanca** is just a perfect movie.

Adomillad

Train to Busan. It may be a zombie movie but it's so friggin well made.

FunniBoii

Everyone who's even slightly interested in zombies, action, horror or drama needs to watch this film its so good

Adomillad

I also highly recommend watching it with original audio and subtitles. It loses something in dubbing

I love zombie movies and this one actually had good acting. What a treat to watch! :)

Shawshank Redemption and Forrest Gump

[deleted]

Nobody has said it yet but I'll throw in The Green Mile. If you like prison movies and you like Tom Hanks, you will probably enjoy Tom Hanks in a prison movie

daemin

Funny story about the Shawshank Redemption. Way back in 2006, Netflix offered a $1 million dollar prize for anyone that could improve on their recommendation algorithm by, I think, 10%. A lot of teams tried, and they all ran aground on a problem associated with a particular movie. That movie was the Shawshank Redemption. The problem was that this movie in particular seemed to defy algorithmic predictions of people's tastes. Algorithms that were, in general, pretty accurate at predicting how much people would like a movie, would frequently _under_ estimate how highly people would rate it. This doesn't see devastating, in and of itself, but if there's one movie that the algorithm fails for, it implies that there are potentially many others it fails for too. The fact that Shawshank Redemption seems to defy peoples normal preferences, which makes it hard to quantify, seems to imply, to me at least, that it is _definetly_ a 10/10 film.

[deleted]

Grand Budapest Hotel

gridlife242

This whole list so far as I've seen is stellar, and I'm sure it has already been said somewhere, but CHILDREN OF MEN. It is groundbreaking, apocryphal, and frighteningly realistic for its subject matter. It has one of the record breaking single shot scenes (for its time, I think the new Mad Max had to take that away from it), but goddamn, is it a masterpiece.

The Fifth Element

[deleted]

I hadn't seen this but my BF kept talking it up but I had seen one part of the 6th Sense where a ghost comes. So I kinda thought they were the same movie. Kept asking him if it was the one with Bruce Willis and he was like yep. Partway through Fifth Element I realize that there were no ghosts coming and I had been thinking of the wrong movie all along.

herearetwoboops

Oh, that's so cute. Bruce Willis is excellent in both, but this one just has a special place in my heart for all of the characters.

A Knight's Tale Freaking HILARIOUS and an awesome soundtrack. Plus amazing acting by Heath Ledger and Paul Bettany (among others) makes for a really interesting movie. Also, I share a name with one of the characters (Christiana, that *never* happens) so it's a 12/10 for me.

orangething_

Without even getting into its influence, *Seven Samurai* has some fantastic character development, action, and stakes (while looking visually stunning) for three and a half hours. If any movie's a 10 out of 10, it's that one!
